Protein cinovog prsta bazonuklin-2 je protein koji je kod ljudi kodiran genom BNC2.[5][6] Nedavno se pokazalo da BCN2 utpče na razinu pigmentacije kože u Evropljana.[7] Genomska regija koja obuhvata gen BCN2 ima 60% DNK sekvence neandertalaca.[8]
