AIF1L je protein koji veže aktin i promovira povezivanje aktina. Ne može vezati kalcij niti ovisiti o njegovoj funkciji.[ 8] Ima pristrasnu ekspresiju u bubrezima (RPKM 130.1), slezeni (RPKM 121.3) i osam drugih tkiva.[ 9]
