The study is based on primary survey of 620 urban consumers using a structured questionnaire, which was administered personally in six districts of Uttar Pradesh (India). A stratified random sampling approach was adopted to select respondents for the study. Based on the factor analysis, attributes of products have been reduced to three factors as (i) search attributes (ii) experience attributes and (iii) credence attributes. Further, the study empirically analyzed the relationship between preferences on food attributes and socio-demographic profiles of the consumers. The results have some interesting managerial insights for policy makers, food processors, retailers and the farming community to redesign their offerings based on the consumer preferences. As the combination of food attribute preferences differ across the consumer groups, this piece of r...

chain and its influence on retail firms‟ economic status in Post-Goods
and Service Tax (GST) era. The study also tries to find out the
differences of operations in organized and unorganized retailing in Indian
context. The study incorporates the in-depth analysis of local retailers‟
stiff resistance, profitability for back-end unorganized suppliers and value
offers to ultimate consumers‟ issues. On the basis of proposed work,
researcher will encapsulate a winning formula for organized and
unorganized retail sector in India in post GST era and specifically for less
developed part of the country. The research is based on the review of
existing literature on Goods and Services Tax and its business impact.

Design/methodology/approach – The research follows an exploratory research design. It initially involvesidentificationandanalysisofinfluentialfactorsoftheimplementationofDCMpracticesthroughthe reviewofliterature. Then, thesevariableswereanalyzedusingtotalinterpretivestructuralmodelingorTISM followedbyastatisticalverificationandcase-basedvalidationofthemodel. Findings – The major findings of the paper are: top-management commitment and support, information management and supply chain agility in supply chain are the most significant enablers with the highest driving power. The other apparel retail specific significant variables are assortment planning, category management and marketing orientation. The model also indicates that the firms that implement customer-centric DCM practices do well in terms of organizational performance and thereby achieve differentialadvantageovertheircompetitors. Research limitations/implications – BecausetheliteratureonDCMisstillinnascentstage, thestudy basesitselfoninterpretivemethod;thatis,TISMofanalysiswithalimitednumberofexperts.Futurestudies may consider larger sample with more advanced statistical tools such as structural equation modeling for furthervalidationofthefindings. Moreover, TISM-based approach is applied for the first time to study the DCM practices and its drivers vis-a `-visdependents. The ability of an organisation to add on a service envelope to the core product, overcome the con... more The ability of an organisation to add on a service envelope to the core product, overcome the constraints related to time and place of delivery and thereby, satisfying the customers' need with an edge over the other players or competitors in the market place, is the prime concern in today's context. This could take several forms as those branding with unique benefits, extensive knowledge exchange between organisation and customers, control of intellectual properties, exclusive supplier-buyer interface and relationship management with customers, employees and other value chain partners resulting in streamlining the flow of entire supply chain. SCM seeks to optimize supply whereas CRM seeks to optimize demand. SCM is cost focused and deals with production and execution while CRM is revenue focused and involves identifying and responding to customer needs. In this paper, we propose and try to analyze the synergistic approach of supply chain management with customer relationship management (SC 2 RM). The paper starts with tracing the development of CRM and SCM, focusing the (SC 2 RM) synergistic mode followed by a proposed model, which depicts the specific inputs for customer and organisation, as to how customer processes the data, what are the efforts of organisation for relationship with customers, employees and channel members, what are the connecting links of focal firm with customer and finally what would be the outputs of focal firm's (SC 2 RM) synergistic efforts in terms of benefits derived by customers and focal firm and ultimately by business and society.

The over dependence of Indian agriculture on uncertain rains during monsoon, creates vulnerability to risk and uncertainty. It describes various types of risks involved and agricultural insurance as one of the risk mitigation mechanisms in agriculture to prevent it from natural perils. A comparative study is presented in this paper exhibiting the performance of agricultural insurance schemes run by GOI hitherto. This comparison ends up with precise discussion and critical appraisal of few successful schemes in this area such as National Agricultural Insurance Scheme (NAIS), Weather Based Crop Insurance Scheme (WBCIS) and few others. It further outlines certain policy implications for the improving the existing products mentioned ut supra.
