A House for Alesa Remake
My name is Alesa and I'm a social worker.
I've been assigned a new case, a potential situation of child neglect. An old house in the outskirts of the city...and a family that never leaves their home.
My boss wanted me to come with a cop but I refused. Families don't react well to the presence of cops. If they see me alone, it might beeasier to gain their trust and have them cooperate.
I'll ask some questions and then I'll leave. I just need to check if there's child neglect at all, although this will probably require more visits to this family.
Still...
For some reason, I have a really bad feeling about this...
And this place feels familiar...

This is a remake of the original "A House for Alesa". It was created with Rpg Maker MZ. I intend this to be the definitive way to experience "A House for Alesa".
By the way, this was made from scratch and the original A House for Alesa project was not used (I mostly recreated everything from memory)

If I beat this game and want to play the original games do I have to play the first one or can I skip it and go straight for the second on
This one takes place in a different timeline, but I guess you can still jump straight to the second one and you'll still understand the plot!
Then I'll just play the first one, also I love your games, especially Julia was alone

Absolutely loved this, such a high quality game - All of the custom artwork does wonders for the experience. I had a great time getting all 8 endings.
Thank you so much Mana, I'm glad you enjoyed the remake! : D I had forgotten about some parts, so it was really nice to watch everything and remember some stuff! Some players prefer the original, but I definitely put in more effort in this one, since the original was made for a jam and at times I wasn't sure of what to do, while here, I tried to applied everything I learned by that time and make a more compelling experience. While I do like both games, I think this one is definitely superior (even though it's not in the same timeline)
Will we have a remake of the second and third one? Also, Greta supremacy!
This one is not connected to 2 and 3, so I don't think I'll remake 2 and 3 in this style. I might make a sequel to this one eventually, but it woulnd't have a numbered title in order to avoid confusion, since this one takes place in a different universe/timeline. 2 and 3 definitely need un update though, so I'm considering remastering them one day

I love how in the remake Alesa's feelings for Greta are actually shown cause some people complained about the romance coming out of nowhere.
I enjoyed the puzzles a lot too even though I kept getting lost in the house lol.
Anyways Greta is the cutest ever and she's my gf now

Is Alesa walking around barefoot? Because based on the sprite that's my new headcanon
Here's the thing:
She's supposed to be wearing suede shoes, but I didn't like how her sprite looked with shoes, so she'll always look like she's walking around barefoot. However, I think both options are canon.
Awesome remake either way and I can't wait to see if you choose to expand on it
I do want to make a sequel to the remake one day, but at the moment I'm working on another project related to Alesa that has nothing to do with the remake. It might even be finished by next week

Hey I was playing this game and did everything up until the gold key and now I'm stuck because I cant find anything else and I looked at walkthroughs and stuff but I couldn't find out what to do after unlocking the basement and the moms room key is there anyone who could help?
Did you go to the laboratory in the 1st floor? You need to activate a switch there and then go to the second floor, go up the stairs and head to the attic

This game is great! Huge upgrade from its OG counterpart. Spookier moments, better puzzles, and a prettier Greta! I also loved Alesa's new suit lol, the boob window goes crazy. I think this is my favorite Alesa game so far! Really looking forward to the next installments, keep up the good work!

but something never changes - Greta is still a sweetie<3

While I do plan to make sequels to the remake, I might also go back to the classic timeline. I mean, Vanesa is still there and Alesa probably had many adventures before her death and after the events of the third game

god this is so fucking annoying i was like replaying the game, i already were in lab,and my game just crashed and when i opened the game all my saves was deleted, what the fuck is that i'm tired of replaying this game for the hundreth time,just fix it already
If you're playing the browser version, it's probably related to your internet or your browser. If you're playing in private browsing mode, then your files won't be kept.
The game is not broken, it has been tested multiple times and there's nothing wrong with the save system. The same applies to the downloadable version.
It definitely has to do with your computer or your operating system. Are you able to save your file in other games made in Rpg Maker MZ?
This is very strange and no one else seems to have this problem
I mean, have you played other games made in Rpg Maker MZ that have a save feature? I don't mean a specific one but rather in general. Most of them allow you to save anywhere and it's the same save system used in this game.
Also, your problem with save files might have to do with the folder where you extracted the game. If you extracted it in a folder that requires administrator privileges, then that's probably why you can't save.
Are you playing the browser version? If that's the case, it might be related to that. Perhaps you deleted your cache/cookies or you were playing in private browsing mode, so your saves weren't kept.
That was amazing!
I was excited to see a remake just a couple of months after I played the original. Even though it's a different timeline, the story is very similar, which is nice because the story was already really good. I also like the new art, cards, and unlockable art gallery. The only thing I would like to see different is being able to play all of the endings myself. I'd absolutely love to see more horror oriented sequels to this one!
