This paper will analyze the definitions of ethics in three ways: Philosophical, Political, and Technological. The definitions will be applied to actions taken in Germany during the Cold War, and how these actions also apply to a more current situation. A case using espionage to steal Cold War technology will be analyzed to determine whether or not the means to an end were worth the risk. These ethics are based around the primary source  The Primacy of Duty, from Kant’s full text, The Foundations of Metaphysic of Morals. The “questionable ethics” refer to espionage and technology, and why the Stasi used spies to gain information to boost their place in the Cold War technology and arms race. The purpose of this paper is to analyze the structure of Kant's text to determine whether or not he would have approved of the Cold War and even recent spy related conflicts. Taking into account his own beliefs, as well as analyzing the following views of duty from politics and technology provided, would Kant approve of Stasi ethics during the Cold War?

This research paper will examine the gender gap in contemporary Russian politics and answer the following question: What is the role of women in Russian Politics? A brief history of these roles will point out important duties within the former communist party up to the 2000s era, and explore what positions are currently being held by women in Putin’s administration. It will be important to highlight the political position of Putin in regards to gender and how this is affecting women in Russian society.

This research will also focus on specific policies that are either progressing or hindering the gender gap in political positions. Most importantly, this paper will review statistics regarding how women in Russia see their roles in the political sphere. If women want to be more involved, are there any incentives provided by the government to pave the way for a career in politics? The paper will wrap up with my own prediction and outlook for the importance of women in the Russian political system.
