The Perfect Breakfast-Dinner

For Valentine’s Day this year we celebrated with breakfast for dinner, starring these darling heart-shaped waffles. My husband is the traditional meat-and-potatoes type of guy, so I was nervous about deviating from the norm. I took a leap of faith because I kept thinking about  warm, golden-brown waffles covered in melted butter and homemade maple syrup.

Putting a little spin on the traditional Valentine’s Day dinner was a huge success. I used my heart-shaped waffle maker to create these light and fluffy, and upped the breakfast/dinner ante with brown sugar bacon (the perfect combination of salty and sweet) and a spinach and sun-dried tomato frittata, plus seasonal fruit. The romantic shape of my waffles was the perfect touch I needed to make our breakfast-dinner unforgettable.
