Brief views suggested a Myiarchus or Contopus. A White-throated Flycatcher Empidonax albigularis was in the immediate vicinity and in the field we attributed these sounds to it, but it's not a good match for that species and on my recordings of the White-throated Flycatcher a few minutes later, this call seems to be farther in the background. I have tried to match this to every species of elaenia, Myiarchus, and pewee that has occurred in Chiapas, without success. Any ideas?
