Comedy often is a serious matter because it is based on works with comments upon and critiques on social and political issues that have the potential of being presented as serious. Meanwhile the cinema is a very powerful cultural practice and institution. The focus of this research rests on comedy film as an agency of criticism to society. Thus, this research is to examine the capability of comedy cinema as a medium of criticism. The insight developed of this research constructed through a qualitative research design. Focuses on the Malaysian cinema era of studio. It rests on the framework of comedy as critiques on social culture that has the potential of being presented as serious. The objective of the study is to analysed these comedy films capable of functioning in a significant role as social criticism. Penulisan ini secara ringkasnya membincangkan bagaimana sentuhan kreatif beliau dalam filem ini berjaya melenyapkan pengaruh budaya India yang cukup dominan ketika itu.

Fokus kajian adalah berkenaan fungsi tuala wanita yang dicipta oleh Lakshmi sebagai mekanisme inovasi sosial di kalangan wanita dan masyarakat pedalaman di India dalam filem PadMan (2018). Penciptaan tuala wanita oleh Lakshmi, suami kepada Gayatri adalah sebagai langkah penyelesaian masalah dan untuk menggubah persepsi masyarakat setempat khususnya kaum wanita dalam aspek penjagaan kebersihan dan kesihatan ketika haid. Kajian ini  menggunakan kaedah kualitatif yang bersifat analisis tekstual naratif filem (PadMan 2018) melalui pendekatan inovasi sosial. The excess concentrations of fluoride in water for human consumption may cause severe health problems. Among several treatment technologies applied for fluoride removal, adsorption process has been explored widely and proven as an efficient method. An agricultural waste, palm kernel shell (PKS) was quartenized in order to improve the adsorption efficiency as an adsorbent for adsorbing fluoride from waste water by batch and fixed bed column process. Commercial palm kernel shell activated carbon (PKSAC) was used as a comparison to the quaternized palm kernel shell (QPKS). Effect of various factors on the fluoride removal was investigated, such as pH, initial concentration, adsorbent dosage and contact time. Adsorption capacity increased with the increased of adsorbent dosage and contact time. Optimum parameters which resulted in maximum adsorption capacity of 1.7 mg/g by QPKS and 1.3 mg/g by PKSAC was achieved at pH 3 with initial concentration of 20 mg/L, an adsorbent dosage of 8 g/L...
