Hello! Since Wikidata can need a few more admins, I would like to offer my help as an administrator. I am active as an translation administrator since July 2020 and as an rollbacker since March 2021. I am already active in fighting vandalism, so it would be helpful to have these additional tools to semi-protect pages, block vandals, or delete nonsense. If you decide to grant me admin rights, I would like to work on requests at WD:AN and to help out with the backlog at WD:RFD. Besides my activity here on Wikidata I am a member of the Ombuds Commission. Thank you for considering this request. Best regards --MRCKH (talk) 15:03, 2 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hello everyone. I'm Martin and I would be happy to help out further. I added my first statement to an item in Jan 2015, and I have made 30,000+ edits altogther. I have been a property creator since June 2015, and have created 30 properties. I am involved with WikiProject Lighthouses and have done quite a lot of work with integrating Wikidata into Wikipedia infoboxes. Hello, i am Markus. I am mostly adding aliases to Wikidata items, and i sometimes create new, or merge existing items. When spotting vandalism, i undo it.
The reason for asking administrator permissions is that I frequently stumble on (the same) Wikidata item for which i want to add an alias, only to realize i have been there before and the page is fully protected. That page is protected for a good reason as it is a current event and prone to vandalism.

Hi, this is Stang, and actually this RfA is suggested by someone. I mainly do RC patrol here to rollback unexplained removal, hoax and meaningless content addition, and report them to AN if it is a clear vandalizer or continue their action after warned. I also propose deletion for items useless or lack of notability. Besides, I answered some tickets in our VRT queue as a agent. Maybe my edit count is a bit low (~4K) but I don't think it is a big problem. I would mainly focus on the two aforementioned parts (and of course block those bad guys and LTAs) to speed up the process if I get the mop, and would like to help with Chinese-speaking user for aspects they don't really familiar with as a Mandarin native speaker.
For transparency: this user is affected by a recent office action. --Stang 12:18, 7 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]- Thanks for your great work on anti-vandalism here. I'm wondering what do you think you would do differently in your Wikidata work as an admin relative to what you are doing now. You could go ahead and delete not-notable items yourself, but getting deletions reviewed by at least one other person seems like a good approach (not that it is a policy for Wikidata). Are there other administrative actions, such as blocking users and IP ranges, protecting pages, etc., that you would feel comfortable taking? ArthurPSmith (talk) 16:43, 7 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
- For deletion, some sites have policies that require admins not to (speedy) delete a page unless it is tagged by others with speedy-related template. Such policy does not exist at here, and IMO I will not take admin action if I am hesitate or not sure to do so. For blocking, if I am not pretty sure I will discuss with others, put it on AN etc., and will leave proper notice and clarification if a block is kind of controversial. Stang 19:10, 7 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
- Well I do support this adminship, would it be better to inform the foundation since your rights on zh.wp were removed by them? --Minorax«¦talk¦» 06:19, 9 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

- Closed as successful. Note that the current projected use may result in losing adminship due to inactivity, as editing protected pages is usually not counted. Additional admin bot tasks may solve this. --Lymantria (talk) 18:14, 20 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

- Pi admin bot (talk • contribs • new items • new lexemes • SUL • Block log • User rights log • User rights • xtools)
I've been operating Pi bot since 2017, and it has made nearly 7 million edits on Wikidata so far. The latest task I've coded up, Wikidata:Requests for permissions/Bot/Pi bot 25, is designed to maintain Wikidata:Properties for deletion - and to simultaneously update Template:Watchlist summary/PFD. Which was all looking good and working fine for semi-automated test edits under my (admin) account, until I realised the template is admin-protected. Asking how to handle this at the administrators noticeboard favoured setting up an admin bot (over reducing protection of the template) - hence this request. The admin account needs to be separate from Pi bot's normal account for safety reasons, and it will be run in a separate directory on the Raspberry Pi. My main concern with proposing this admin bot is that just updating an admin-protected page might not be sufficient justification for having an admin bot account, but I expect it will only be a matter of time before I'll request to add more admin bot tasks to this account. For additional background, please see my user page, and my RfP. Thanks. --Mike Peel (talk) 17:58, 13 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

It seems that there is lack of administrators in Wikidata. Hence, I would like to be a Wikidata administrator. I have done over one million edits in different Wikiprojects. Trust and expertise are guaranteed. When being an administrator I will focus mostly on maintenance, e.g. checking of recent changes (via pltools.toolforge.org/rech), new items, new talk pages, and Category:Wikidata:Deletion. Dealing with these topics, administator’s rights would be very helpful. --Estopedist1 (talk) 12:36, 14 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I would like to request the rights of the item remover on Wikidata. I'm currently active on ptwiki, but I've always been interested in Commons. Never had any copyright infringement issues, none of my uploads were deleted (there is a deletion request currently, but it's not due to copyright, it's due to a high quality version of a logo available after my upload). All items I indicated for spam deletion have been deleted. As such, I believe I am "[...] familiar with Wikidata's general policy [...] With takedown rights, I will also be focusing on wIkidata in addition to ptwiki to help reduce the huge backlog in Category:License review needed, especially needed. I'm also open to any questions. Thank you! — Leonaardog (talk) 17:23, 25 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
