Taxon rank
[edit]I'm removing the taxon rank (P105) claim of series (Q3025161) from this item. series (Q3025161) seems to refer to a different taxonomic rank than the one defined by Benton in Vertebrate Palaeontology, namely to a rank way below species, used in botany, whereas Benton classifies animal species using a series that is above class. German short description
[edit]I would appreciate it if people who does not have any clue about German language keep their fingers off German descriptions. The German description of ‘Anmioten’ up today read “Großgruppe von Tetrapoden, deren Geburtsstadien non-aquatil verlaufen” which included several major errors. First “Geburtstadien” means “birth stages”, but of course being an amniote is not about non-aquatic „birth“ alone, but about not having aquatic early juveniles, the so-called larvae (not to mention that the term birth should only be used in connection with viviparous animals, and that almost all amniotes of the highly diverse sauropsid lineage are oviparous). Furthermore the verb „verlaufen“ is usually not used in connection with ecologic terms like “aquatil”. An anmimal or one of its ontogenetic stages “ist” or “ist nicht” “aquatil” or “nicht-aquatil”, respectively… --Gretarsson (talk) 17:55, 18 April 2021 (UTC)
