Description in Spanish
[edit]Hi, @Tm:. Is it really necessary that lengthy description? Descriptions are intended to be short (Help:Description). Additionally, it's badly written, Spanish-language wise. Regards. strakhov (talk) 20:06, 28 December 2022 (UTC)
- Spanish info was added by an spanish user. Tm (talk) 20:48, 28 December 2022 (UTC)
- So what? I'm not following you. It's immaterial to this discussion the nationality of the several contributors responsible for this poorly written description (by the way, the conjunction "e" was apparently yours, if you are interested in sharing blame). "afluente del Duero" is short and precise. If more data were needed (I don't think so) to differentiate this river from Q335963 (that's what descriptions are for), a less awkward description is certainly needed. strakhov (talk) 02:34, 29 December 2022 (UTC)
- You said that "it's badly written, Spanish-language wise" so, as the writer is spanish, the nationality of said user is not immaterial as a native speaker of spanish. And description is informative and short, albeit is now shorter. Tm (talk) 19:43, 31 December 2022 (UTC)
- You assume people with Spanish citizenship always write impeccably well.. And they don't. And no, it is not short. It's horribly long ("the proper length is between two and twelve words"). And it's still badly written (by the Spanish user and by you). Check Rhine (Q584), Danube (Q1653),.... Anyway, you won, congratulations. I simply do not care that much: keep that 25-word-long and dreadfully written Spanish description (and the rest of them too) if that floats your boat. Bye. strakhov (talk) 21:03, 8 January 2023 (UTC)
