Comics
[edit]Can this also be used for all comics, or just those in book form? Superm401 - Talk 03:46, 3 April 2013 (UTC)
- I would use author for comics. In books illustrations are supplementary, and thus you would expect an author along with an illustrator. I think in comics the two roles are not separated, and I would simply categorize it into author.--11:04, 3 April 2013 (UTC)
- You're saying for comic strips (e.g. the kind in some newspapers), they're often not separated, right? The separation seems more common for comic books like Criminal. Then again, that is a book, so it seems pretty clear it's okay to use the property. Superm401 - Talk 22:07, 3 April 2013 (UTC)
- Yes I was thinking more of comic strips. And as for comic books - that depends, I guess. As far as I know (mostly about Japanese comic books), creators of comic books tend to work closely together making the story, without clearly separating story writing and illustration. In that case I think they are all entitled to be authors. --whym (talk) 12:30, 5 April 2013 (UTC)
