English label change
[edit]I changed it from "awarded by" to "conferred by" to make it more applicable in a broader range of uses. Whereas "awarded by" seems limited to medals and prizes, "conferred by" could also include honorable titles, rankings, etc. Sweet kate (talk) 05:37, 18 December 2014 (UTC)
Qualifier
[edit]Why is this classified as a qualifier property? Usually the one who awards the award doesn't change too often, if at all. But with this property being a qualifier, we have to add the information to every laureate rather than just giving it once for the award itself. I'm probably not the only one being confused by this: Of less than 1000 times this property is used, 704 break the qualifier rule (Wikidata:Database reports/Constraint violations/P1027). --YMS (talk) 08:42, 26 March 2015 (UTC)
- Agreed. I removed that constraint, and added a counter-example. -- LaddΩ chat ;) 14:25, 22 January 2016 (UTC)
reverted qualifier set class: bounty back to class: award
[edit]For me "conferred by" is not bounty (Q4372150)/wikt:bounty-related ; while there may be a fee, there often is not. This may be a language/definition issue, hard to tell. I have reverted the change from Oct 2017. — billinghurst sDrewth 02:59, 20 March 2018 (UTC)
