New Art

After a long time of not touching it, I've added some more art to my traditional art page, this time done with ink and markers. I've also been updating the Manicure of the Week page, so go check that out if you're into that stuff!

New Page Added

There's a new page on the site called "Manicure of the week." It's a place for me to show off the nail art that I do each week, and it's already got a couple of entries.

PDImages has been fixed

I've rearranged the menu so that things are (hopefully) a bit easier to find. I also noticed that the Public Domain Image database was broken after an update from my webhost, and I've gone through and fixed it, as well as added a few more items. There's also a new blog post with a game review of Mall Tycoon 2

Various changes and updates

Among other small updates here and there, I've added some fun little icons that I've been making with the Pico-8 palette. I've also added a new little platformer that I made to the main games page.

Accessibility Updates

I've been making a number of accessibility changes around the site, so you may notice some differences here and there. Most notably, I'm slowly changing all of the animated GIFs to toggle-only, and I've switched fonts for the website to one that is clearer and more easily read. I've also added some extra navigation links for text-only browsers and browsers that don't support CSS.

There is a new page dedicated to fantasy desktops in video games! It's a little project I've been working on for a little while, and I think I will add to it as time goes on.

I've got a new page up for printable stuff, mainly for collages and scrapbooking, but there's also a special papercraft project for Sims fans! I've also cleaned up my RSS feed, sorry for the terribleness before. It should be without errors now.

I've been adding things to my Ascii Painter app after a long hiatus. It now has support for: UI themes, customized and pre-made; more brushes to chose from; import & export function for brushes; selectable color history.

I've added another critter to the Adoptables page. There's some new art up on my Pixel dolls page. I've also created a little JS tool on my Projects page for reading runes. I've also put it up on my Itch.io page if you'd like to see it there.

The site is now responsive! Sorry that took so long--it's often a headache to get those things to work. Please note this doesn't apply to my separate projects, like the dollmaker and ASCIIPainter. Those aren't necessarily meant to be mobile friendly since they don't work too well with touch controls, but if I ever go over those I'll let everyone know up here.

The Frugal Gamer Homepage: retro design, art, projects, and other fun toys

You’ve reached the home of The Frugal Gamer. This is a personal site where I showcase things I’ve made and stuff I think about, as well as some of the games I play. I've been hanging around on the internet since about the late 1990s, and I've tried all the trends that have come through. Social media seems to be the "thing" these days, but I feel like it leaves me feeling fragmented and empty after a while. I began to miss having a space that I really control, and isn't sold to others for advertising purposes. So, I decided to dip into being a website owner again.
