Expectations
Why Do We Have Procedures?
•They are a part of life – we follow
procedures all the time.
•They can help things to run more
efficiently, and make
things safer.
• They help to establish our
classroom culture, making it
a better environment to
learn.
How to Enter the Classroom
•Wait outside the class if the door is closed or if
there is not a teacher present.
•Greet your teacher and your classmates who are
already in the classroom.
•Calmly enter the room and take your seat.
•Turn your phone on silent and place it in your
backpack.
•Take your AirPods, earbuds or headphones out.
•Immediately start to work on the Do Now at your
desk.
Starting Class
Listen carefully to the teacher when take
attendance and answer to your name
and your name only!!
•Work on any assignment that is due and
you are late of.
• Copy down today’s
activities.
• Complete the “Do
Now” activity on the
board.
What to Do With Your Belongings
•All of your belongings should be placed
on the desk’s hook or under your desk.
•Make sure nothing is in the aisles.
•NO food, coffee, or any sweet drinks are
allowed during class!!! Only WATER is
allowed!!!
•For safety reasons, please DO
NOT lean back in your chair!
If You Are Absent
•An “Absent Buddy” will fill out a “While
You Were Out” sheet and write down
what you missed.
•Any papers passed out will be stapled to
this sheet.
• Make sure YOU pick
up your work when
you return to school!
If You Are Tardy
•Tardy means arriving after class has started.
•Don’t forget to greet the people that are
already in class! You are interrupting their
activities….so they deserve at least a Hello,
sorry I’m late…
•Put your late pass in the teacher’s inbox.
•If you do not have a pass, plan on explaining
why you were late.
•Make sure this doesn’t become a habit!
•3 Tardy = An abscence…don’t forget that!
•If you are tardy to my class today, you will
If You Didn’t Do Your Canvas
Assignment
•Write an Excuse Note in Canvas and
message it to me.
•Fill it out. All of it. Be honest.
• Don’t let it happen again!
Turning in
Papers/Assignments/Projects
•Assignments have to be handed in when
it is due - NOT late - and NOT early!
•Put all papers in the Group Folder.
•Through a fair rotation each group
member should return the folder to the
designated spot on the shelf.
Sharpening/Borrowing a Pencil
•Please sharpen pencils before class
begins.
•Do not sharpen pencils when the
teacher is speaking.
• Only one person at a time at
the pencil sharpener.
• If you ask for a pencil, please
return it at the end of the
class…there might be others
that will need it!!!

Using Your Chromebook in Class
•Your Chromebook should be brought to
school fully charged each morning.
•Don’t leave it at home, in your locker, in
your last class, etc…
•Playing games, and accessing social
media sites is not allowed.
• Chromebooks are for ACADEMIC
USE only!
Using the Bathroom
•No permission to use the bathroom
during instructional time.
•If an Emergency occurs, you need to
inform the teacher and wait for approval.
•You will receive a pass with all the
information needed.
•Return the pass to the teacher to
complete your arrival time.
• Wash your hands before you
come back PLEASE!
Using the Classroom Library
•The books in this room have been
purchased by your teacher – treat them
with respect.
•Handle all books gently.
•Return each book to the
bookcase when you are
finished with it.
Using Classroom Supplies
•This room is well stocked to help you
complete your classwork.
•Supplies are for use in THIS room only.
•Remember to return all supplies back to
the appropriate
container when you
are finished with them.
• Put the caps back on the glue
sticks please!
Using the Classroom Cleaning
supplies
•You are welcome to use the hand
sanitizer or wipes in this classroom to
clean your hands/table/chair.
•Make sure everything is clean when you
are done.
•Throw the paper towel or the wipes in
the TRASH – don’t leave it on the desk.

How to Set Up a Paper
•Each paper should have four things in
the top left hand corner:
• Your first and last name
• The date
• The class section
• The assignment
If You Finish Your Work Early
•Check to make sure that you answered
all the questions. Is there a back side?
•Study your vocabulary words.
•Organize your binder.
•Read a book from the classroom library.
•Start working on your project.
Classroom Discussions
•Please participate! We want to hear
what you have to say!
•Make all questions or comments
relevant to the current discussion or
topic.
•Make all the comments using the
appropriate language and attitude.
• Please refrain from
shouting out ideas.
• Have respect for your
Auditorium/Black Box Behavior
•Follow all instructions, written and oral.
•Ask questions if you are not sure about
something.
•Wear your safety glasses if told
(put them over your eyes.)
•No eating or drinking on the stage.
•No fooling or joking around!
Classroom Infraction Notice
•These are given out to students breaking
classroom rules or behaving
inappropriately.
• If you get one:
• Read it.
• Sign it.
• Correct your behavior
and get back to work.
• See me after class!
If You Feel Sick
•Tell your teacher or a classmate if you
feel sick and can’t wait.
•Ask your teacher for the Nurse’s Pass.
•Please tell me if you feel faint,
it may not be safe
for you to go alone!
If You Think You Are Going to Throw
Up!
•If possible, tell someone near you that
you feel sick.
•Head DIRECTLY to the bathroom!
•Do not sign out!
•Do not take a pass!
•JUST GO!!!!!
If the Fire Alarm Goes Off
•Stop what you are doing immediately.
•Quickly and quietly line up at the door.
•Head for the designated exit.
• Shut the door if you
are the last person
out of the room.
• No talking in line.
End of Class Dismissal
•The teacher dismisses the class, not the
clock, not the BELL! Class is over when I
say “Have a great day!”
•Do not start packing up ahead of time.
•Pick up the floor around you.
•Push in your chair.
•Take all of your belongings
with you.
