WHAT IS AWD/CHOLERA? Waa maxay Daacuunku?

Cholera is caused by bacteria called Vibrio cholerae. Cholera germs are found in the faeces of
infected people.

4. Marka Caruurta saxarada laga dhaqo kadib After cleaning children from the
toilet.
5. Markaad shaqo wasakh leh faraha la geshid kadib. After handling any
dirty task.
6. Ka hor iyo ka dib marka aad taabatid/daryeeshid qof xanuusan.

vegetables before eating.

duug ama Gub. Keep clean in and around your house and dump or burn down the household Garbage

uga hortagto fuuq-baxa. Get ORS packet/Sachets from the nearest health facility or learn to

cholera germs.
• Boil, or add drops of chlorine to the water
before drinking.
• Keep drinking-water in a clean, covered
pot or bucket or other container

FOR PEOPLE WITH DIARRHOEA
• The biggest danger of cholera is loss of water
from the body.
• Do not panic, but act quickly.
• Drink a solution of oral rehydration salts made
with safe (boiled or chlorinated) water.
• Go immediately to the health centre. Continue
drinking as you go.
