INTRODUCTION
Innovation is the process of making lives better while Innovative Teaching is the
process of making teaching and learning experiences better. There are many reasons
why Innovative Teaching is required today – some of these are: ...
Technological and pedagogical advances are changing the way we learn and
consume knowledge
What is innovative practice in teaching?
Innovative Teaching and Learning practices
incorporates responsive teaching practice, student
ownership of learning, high levels of engagement, authentic
contexts, the development of competencies and the strategic
use of digital technologies to connect, collaborate, create and share
learning.
Problem Identification and the Cause of the Problem :
The Innovative Problem Solving Strategy (IPSS) was developed as part of pre-
service teacher training suggesting a new Teaching and Learning Curriculum
(TLC). This research is aimed at analyzing the IPSS effectiveness if applied to
solving problems concerned with plant anatomy, as well as at teaching students
to use the problem solving strategy in innovative teaching (IT2), and the
correlation of innovative ideas and TLC. This article is based on a case study
on 94 students of Biology Department in Surabaya State University 2016/2017.
The participants were divided into three groups. The data was collected
through the assignment of developing a scientific project based on the
indicators of innovative study, problem, work step, result, conclusion and
developing TLC. The technique of data analysis took into account the indicator
proportion, innovation testing and Pearson correlative testing. The results
showed that (1) the average of each indicator achievement was≥ 0,7, (2) the
result obtained for three groups was consistent, and (3) there was a positive
correlation between the innovative ideas and Teaching and Learning concept.
Objective to be achieved :
Some of the most important objectives of teacher education are
as follows:
1.Imparting an adequate knowledge of the subject- matter:
The objective of teacher education is to develop a good command of the subject matter of
the assignment given to him in the colleges.
2.Equipping the prospective teachers with necessary pedagogic skills:
The main objective of teacher education is to develop a skill to stimulate experience in the
taught, under an artificially created environment, less with material resources and more by
the creation of an emotional atmosphere. The teacher should develop a capacity to do,
observe, infer and to generalize.
3.Enabling the teacher to acquire understanding of child psychology:
The objective is to understand the child psychology so that the teacher is able to appreciate
the difficulties experienced by children so as to bring about new modes and methods of
achieving the goals in consonance with the reactions of the children.
4:Developing proper attitudes towards teaching:
One of the major objectives of teacher education is to develop proper altitudes
towards teaching as a result of which he will be able to maximize the
achievements from both the material and human resources. T here is also
development of a proper perception of the problems of universal enrolment,
regular attendance, year-to-year promotion.
5. Developing self-confidence in the teachers:
The objectives of teacher education are development of the
ability to take care of himself in terms of:
(a) Adjustment with the physical conditions,
(b) Healthy adjustment with the social environment
(c) Adjustment with himself to derive emotional satisfaction with his life.
How do you achieve your teaching objectives?
1. Strengthen Your Tech Skills. I don't know anyone who doesn't
have some room for growth with technology. ...
2. Brush up on Your Pedagogy. ...

interesting:
1. Cross over Teaching
While this form of teaching does not include technology, it is an enriching experience for the student as well as the
faculty. Here, the learning happens in an informal setting such as after-school learning clubs, or trips to museums and
exhibition. The teacher can link the educational content
with the experiences that the students are having. This teaching is further
enhanced and deepened by adding questions related to the subject. The
students can then add to the classroom discussions through field trip notes,
photographic projects and other group assignments related to the trip.
2 .T ea ching t hr oug h S m a r t Boards
Smart boards are an effective way to bring the classroom to life while
helping students experience a deeper level of engagement and
understanding. This is done by making the course content interactive and
visual. The smart boards transform the teaching experience into an
interactive and collaborative experience as the teachers use dynamic
multimedia content, to help convey the topic more effectively to the
students and making it a visual, engaging experience.
3. Teaching through collaboration
Another innovative method of teaching involves encouraging
student collaboration for various projects. Today, we live in a
globalized world and collaboration is an essential life skill that
is important for all careers
4. T ea ch ing t hr oug h Cloud C o m p u t i n g
Bring technology into the classroom allows educators to
experiment with innovative methods of teaching. The use of
cloud computing is one such method where teachers can
save vital classroom resources such as
lesson plans, notes, audio lessons, videos, and assignments
details on the
classroom cloud. This can then be accessed by the students
from the comfort of their homes, whenever needed bringing
the classroom back to the students with the click on a mouse.
It also ensures that students who have missed class either for
illness or any other reason stay updated at all times. It
eliminates the need for lugging around heavy textbooks and
allows students to learn at a time, place and pace that they
are comfortable with
5. Te ch nology a n d innovative m e t h o d s of teaching
The use of technology in the classroom helps to engage the students
with different kinds of stimuli and creates an environment of activity-
based learning. It makes the content of the classroom more interesting
and makes learning fun.
For teachers, technology offers an endless set of resources that they
can tap into depending on the need of the students. While this blog
lists a few such resources, for a teacher looking for effective teaching
methods in a classroom, turning towards the latest technology will
offer a vast number of updated solutions.
solving teaching procedure is defined as a process of
The biggest challenge for any teacher is capturing each student’s
attention, and conveying ideas effectively enough to create a
lasting impression.
As a teacher, to tackle this challenge effectively, you should
implement innovative ideas that make the classroom experience
much more lovable for your students.
So here are 16 innovative ideas that will help you reinvent your
teaching methods and
1. Creative Teaching
Take the help of tools to stimulate creativity. Include playful
games or forms of visual exercises that will excite young minds
and capture their interest.
This is a time-tested method to identify every young student’s
creative abilities and encourage creative contributions.
Bring aspects of creativity into all your subjects, be it
mathematics, science, or history. Think of ways to develop their
creative ideas.
Encourage different ideas, give them the freedom to explore
2. Audio & Video Tools
Incorporate audio-visual materials to supplement textbooks during your
sessions. These can be models, filmstrips, movies, pictures, infographics or
other mind mapping and brain mapping tools.
Such tools will help their imagination thrive and grow.
These methods will not only develop their ability to listen but will also help
them understand the concepts better.
For example, you can get some oral history materials, conduct live online
discussions or playback recordings of public lectures.
If you are tech-savvy, there are also a number Include playful games that
you can utilize to create awesome slideshows or presentations
3. “Real-World” Learning
Infusing real-world experiences into your instructions will make
teaching moments fresh, and enrich classroom learning.
Relating and demonstrating through real-life situations will make
the material easy to understand and easy to learn. It will spark
their interest and get the children excited and involved.
4. Classes Outside the Classroom
Some lessons are best learnt, when the layout side of the Organize field
trips that are relevant to the lessons or just simply take students for a walk
outside of the classroom.
Students will find this fresh and exciting. Without taking much effort,
they will learn and remember what you teach them.
5. Role Play
Teaching through role-playing is a great way to make children step
out of their comfort zone and develop their interpersonal skills.
This method comes in handy, especially when you are teaching
literature, history or current events.
Conclusions and educational implications :
On the basis of the analysis of the data, the following conclusions may be drawn:
• Teachers and learners were only familiar with the textbooks. They were not aware about
other supplementary materials such as exemplar problems, source books etc. Such materials
need proper dissemination to reach masses at the grass root level.
• Three to four children in each class were not at par with other children of their class in
content knowledge, they were able to read and write with difficulty. Even after giving
additional inputs, these children, of course, showed slight improvement, but not up to the
expected level of their peers. This is because of the differing nature of learners, their
background and
varied quality of teaching. Children cannot demonstrate the same level of competence in each
subject in order to reach the next level of education. To learn science and other subjects
meticulously, at middle school level especially in rural areas, it is important to focus more on
language and mathematics education at the primary level.
• Keeping in view the needs of the society, it is important to focus on vocational education. It
should be so woven in our curriculum that children who wish to acquire additional skills
which will help them to earn
livelihood. It is worth mentioning that some children were good at painting, sculpture,
gardening, repairing things etc.
In conclusion, the findings of the study have context specific educational implications for science
teachers teaching at middle school level in rural area, from which the school was selected for the
present investigation, keeping in view the research objectives. Moreover, the usage of innovative
approaches, discussed earlier, will make teaching –learning of science joyful, thus reducing the
dropout and absentee rate among the rural students, one of the great hurdles in the implementation
of Right to Education Act-2009 (RTE) especially in Indian rural context. This Act makes education a
fundamental right of every child.
Science teaching –learning, inside and outside classroom, need to encourage activity based
approach, connecting it with the world around the child, rather than
information based learning. Providing access to science experimentation kits and
development of science corners in schools especially in rural areas provide
important modes for achieving inclusiveness and equitably for science teaching–
learning.
At the end of the study, the researcher would like to share the last day spent in the
school and would like to say “Good Bye” to these children, who were quite aware
that this was the researcher’s last day with them. Both the parties ‘Researcher’ and
‘Students’ were feeling quite sad, which was an indication of good rapport between
teacher (researcher) and students. The researcher told them not to feel sad and
assured them; whenever they want any help, feel free to call her. Some of them
became emotional, and brokenly said that they had learnt not just the content, but
also how things can be made interesting. Others added that now they find science
interesting and easy, and that, to them, was everything.
The last question which researcher
asked them What profession would
they like to choose?
Most of them said “Teacher”. This
was “Researcher’s” reward.
