2.Tunnel Road Central MIDC road to NH-4

Estimated Cost Rs.144 crore.
PHASE 2 (2.2 km) Between Mulund-Airoli
Creek Bridge
Estimate cost Rs 275 crore.
PHASE 3 (6.3 km) NH-4 to Katai Naka
Estimate cost Rs143 crore.
But is still under tendering process.

PIER:
It is an intermediate support for the adjacent ends of two bridge
spans.
Solid RCC Piers
The solid piers which are constructed with the reinforcement are
called RCC piers.
These piers are generally rectangular in cross-section and are
generally used where the height of the piers is more and the solid
masonry piers will not be strong enough to bear the load and can
be uneconomical.

PORTAL PIER AND PILE CAP
PORTAL PIER
They are the open type of piers consisting of a framed structure
having two or more column-piers connected by a beam at top i.e.
pier cap / beam. They are being provided at curves in the
alignment.
Pier Cap
It is the component of a bridge, which transfers loads from the
superstructure to the piers. Pier cap provides enough seating for
the bridge girders and disperses the loads from the bearings
placed on them to the piers.

NECESSITY OF THE PROJECT
• It will provide direct and quick access to people travelling from Mumbai to Kalyan and Badlapur region.
• Travel time will be reduced by 30 minutes.
• This will decongest the traffic flow and provide traffic free access.
• Residents of Kalyan, Dombivli, Ulhasnagar, Ambernath and Badlapur will be benefited most.
• As its three lane road for each up and down traffic it can minimize the intensity of traffic.
• It will improve connectivity for Palava city.
• Due to less traffic, fuel consumption will be less.
• The traffic on Kalyan Shilphata road will divert the traffic.
• It will provide direct connectivity between two major cities.
