Traffic Rules Worldwide

Traffic rules vary worldwide but generally aim to promote safety. Common rules include yielding to pedestrians, maintaining distance from other vehicles, obeying traffic signals and signs, and following regulations specific to each country. For example, some countries prohibit activities like eating, applying makeup, or having an unrestrained animal while driving. Penalties for infractions like speeding or drink-driving also differ in severity between jurisdictions. Overall, drivers are expected to know and abide by the traffic laws of the place they are operating a vehicle.
