• describes the different dimension of multimedia
information and media and synthesize the value
• apply information literacy models in the classroom

DEFINITION
Information Literacy - is a set of abilities
requiring individuals to “recognize when
information is needed and have the ability to
locate, evaluate, and use effectively the
needed information.”
- American Library Association

- refers to the abilities to recognize when


information is needed and to locate,
evaluate, effectively use, and communicate
information in its various formats.
(UNESCO MIL Curriculum for Teachers)
GOALS IN THE CLASS
Objectives:
• to teach students analyze and evaluate
information for accuracy and preference,
• to gain the ability to find and use
information purposefully, and
• to become adept at using search and
retrieval skills to locate information.
