COMMON ROOM CATEGORIES
1. Standard a room with basic amenities and its room size is relatively small in
scale.
2. Superior a room wherein, aside from all the basic amenities of standard room

3. Deluxe offers what the superior room provides but is coined to be upgraded
for it presents amenities such as branded toiletries, butler service,

4. Executive or designed for business executives that is located on a separate floor.

Club Floor and facilities that is restricted to other occupants of the floor.
5. Suite named according to a theme a room has to offer. Services provided
in this room category are very unique depending on the
classification of suite.
ROOM LOCATIONS

officer because room locations are
linked to guests’ convenience.
ROOM LOCATIONS OFFERED IN HOTEL ESTABLISHMENT
1. Connecting Rooms rooms next to each other with a direct access to both rooms through
a private connecting door.
2. Adjoining Rooms rooms that are located next to each other but has no connecting
door.
3. Adjacent Rooms rooms close to each other such as across the corridor.
4. Inside Room A room that faces the inner part of the hotel.
5. Outside Room a guest room that faces the outer side of the building facing the
urban highways, city lights during evening, or the sea.
6. Corner Room a room located at the corner of the building.
7. Siberia Room a term used to describe an undesirable room, one that is sold only
when no other rooms are available.
8. Near or Away from Elevator rooms situated near to or far from the elevator.
9. Low or High Floor rooms situated on the lower or the higher floors of the building.
RATES &
PACKAGES
Room rate refers to the price of the guest room.
Different rates and packages developed by
hotels are based on diff. types of guests & on
various purposes it serves to cater their needs
as well as reinforcing the bond between the
hotel and its existing clients.
CLASSIFICATION OF RATES & PACKAGES OFFERED BY HOTEL
1. Rack or Published the rate based on the market trend that ranges from the
Rate maximum to the minimum rate during peak & off-season
respectively. It is usually quoted to walk-in guests.
2. Promotional Rate special rate offered to any guests especially on a low or
lean season to encourage prospective clients to avail its
business accommodation and other hotel services.
3. Corporate Rate discounted rate charged to companies or business
professionals who are travelling for business.
4. Contracted Rate special rate negotiated between the hotel industry and
travel agencies for their clients upon agreement of some
terms and conditions provided.
5. Group Rate discounted rate that is lower than the hotel’s rack rates
offered to group bookings in view of number of volume it
reserves at a time.
6. Monthly Offered to guests who will stay for a
Rate minimum of one month.
7. Day Use Rate given for guests that checks in
Rate and checks out on the same day
without staying overnight.
8. Package A package proposal of rooms and
Plan Rate meals introduced by hotel themselves
at full period to increase demand for
guest rooms.
These plans are as follows:
1. European Plan (EP) Charges are for the room accommodation only.
2. Continental Plan (CP) Rates include room accommodation and a
continental breakfast.
3. Full American Plan (FAP) Rates include room accommodation and all three
meals. Also referred to as full board.
4. Modified American Plan Charge for room accommodation plus breakfast
(MAP) and one other meal either lunch or dinner. Also
referred to as half board.
5. Bed and Breakfast Plan Rates include room accommodation and a full
(BB) breakfast.
