 Riga Plaza is one of the largest shopping centres Riga


 Total area of nearly 90,000sq.m dedicated 49,000 m² to
• Retail spaces and houses .
• 140 shops
• A large supermarket
• 3 cinemas
• An area of leisure
 Its construction, design ARHIS arhitekti, was completed in 2009 and is one
of the most elegant and best designed shopping centre's in Riga, with a
modern and stylish interior.
 Flat land where the volume built on two floors in the form of sharp angle
 Won several awards

CONCEPT
The idea of the project was to integrate the 2-story shopping mall’s functional
requirements
 DYNAMIC  LONG  FLEXIBLE FACADE
that reminds a common belt.

 Inspiration to create the sinuous form:


The Daugava River, which runs along the entire
country as a long ribbon.

 Inspiration for facade: The


multi-coloured metallic sheets
in the facade inspired by
traditional costumes from the
country.

The cassettes are bent and fixed with invisible clips to an aluminum framework, which is
secured to the structure. The Cassette system offers an innovative façade solution that
provides a modern and flat appearance.
