being not only responsible for something but also ultimately answerable for your
actions.
Accountability is something you hold someone to after the task is done/not done,
responsibility can be both before and after the task.

Project Manager • Ensure appropriate education, experience, capabilities and attitude of site personnel
• Regularly monitor the EHS risk register and enforce mitigation
• Develop and maintain EHS risk plan and implement appropriate mitigation
• Stop work in case of unsafe conditions, and see it, sort it and report it
• Be part of site safety inspections, risk assessments and safety orientations
Site Manager • Ensure appropriate education, experience, capabilities and attitude of site personnel
• Monitor safe movement and storage of hazardous substances
• Ensure proper PPE, tools and equipment usage and coordinate with customer
• Stop work in case of unsafe conditions, and see it, sort it and report it
• Continuously perform hazard and risk assessments and site inspections
Safety/EHS Officer • Conduct daily/weekly safety/tool box talks and EHS trainings
• Develop & implement emergency response procedures and safety drills
• Stop work in case of unsafe conditions, and see it, sort it and report it
Site Supervisor • Accountable for all safety regulations during erection and construction works
• Ensure implementation of permit to work and method statements
Testing • Stop work in case of unsafe conditions, and see it, sort it and report it
• Beware of all kinds of risks and their controls in work area
Commissioning • Immediately inform site EHS officer/ Site Manager of additional EHS risks

• Release of harmful substances into the air, ground, ground water and
bodies of water.
The EHS Officer together with PM and SM shall select one Worker, every month who
shows outstanding EHS Performance through out the month.
• Recommendation Checklist FRWISS EHS 06.06 shall be filled and signed by the project
manger and the project EHS in charge and sent to the Div. EHS Manager and the Country
EHS Officer for approval and sending the certificate.
• As a minimum, the rewards given to the employee of the month shall be in the form of “
certificate of appreciation” as well as a monetary award decided by the management.
• The recommendation from site need to reach before the 25th of the month to consider
for that month.
• Award shall be given to the employees by the most senior person available on site
(preferably project manager or higher position) during a gathering of all project
employees.
Common Hazards:
To equip PMs and SMs with tools required to ensure that safety
stands at high priority and is effectively practiced in daily
activities.
The site safety kits include on top of EHS signs, posters and
safety binders, specifically designed A0 size EHS posters covering
15 most relevant safety topics in Arabic, English and Urdu. It also
includes the bilingual Al-Salamah pictorial EHS booklet
describing the right and wrong safety behaviors for 50 EHS
situations.
The Project Managers and Site Managers jointly hold the responsibility to ensure that the
material is effectively utilized and the practices are properly enforced at all our project sites to
subsequently ensure a safe working environment.
The EHS site kit is issued by the Country EHS Officer to each Project Manager / Site Manager
for all active projects under his domain as registered with EHS & CSO.
•Turn off all electrical appliances when not in use at the end of each shift.
•Reduce the amount of paper used. Don’t print unless it is necessary.
•Print preview to avoid re-printing and print on both sides of the paper.
•Close water taps properly after use.
•Report all environmental impacts and near misses immediately.
•Participate in the company’s Environmental training.
•Give priority to energy saving equipment, tools and appliances when purchasing.
•Avoid energy waste and/or contamination by ensuring proper maintenance of equipment,
tools and appliances.
•Avoid using Ozone Layer Depletion Substances.
•Reduce acts and substances that cause air, water or land pollution.
•Transport, store, handle, use and dispose hazardous materials as per the Safety Data
Sheet instructions.
•Implement an adequate waste management plan.
•Reduce carbon footprint.
•Abide by the Presidency of Meteorology and Environment PME requirements.
