To perform a transient simulation: Click on the analysis tab found in the simulation palette. Check the Transient simulation check box as shown below.
Click on the Setup button and specify the needed parameters as the stop time and step time. Be sure to choose proper numbers that matches your frequency, otherwise, incorrect output may occur.
After this, click on Edit Waveforms found in the left hand palette, click on the needed nodes to view voltages, or click on transistors to view currents. Specify that the needed analysis is TRAN and that the task is PLOT. Click on the add icon and then RUN ELDO. After that, EZWave viewer can be used to view the output.
To perform an AC simulation: Click on the analysis tab found in the simulation palette. Check the AC simulation check box as earlier, and then click on the Setup button and specify the needed parameters as the start and stop frequency. Be sure to choose proper numbers that matches your frequency, otherwise, incorrect output may occur.
After this, click on Edit Waveforms found in the left hand palette, click on the needed nodes to view voltages, or click on transistors to view currents. Specify that the needed analysis is AC and that the task is PLOT. Click on the add icon and then RUN ELDO. After that, EZWave viewer can be used to view the output.
To perform an Operating Point simulation: Operating point or DCOP simulation is used to get quick results regarding currents and voltages on nodes without the need to plot the output. This method can be very useful when debugging a given schematic. To perform this analysis, click on the analysis tab found in the simulation palette. Check the DCOP simulation check box as earlier.
After this, click on Edit Waveforms found in the left hand palette, click on the needed nodes to view voltages, or click on transistors to view currents. To select multiple instances use the Ctrl key on the keyboard. Be sure to specify the analysis as DC and the task as PRINT. Click on the add button to add your nodes as shown in the figure below.
After this click on RUN ELDO to get the simulation needed. The next step would be choosing DCOP/TRANSIENT tab found in the left sided palette as seen below.
The following window will appear. This window is called the monitor manager. This is where you can specify the nodes you want to view. Choose your nodes and transistors on the schematic using the Ctrl key and then hit the Add icon.
Get back to your schematic, and now you should be able to see the voltages of nodes as seen below.
When plotting a wave, always make sure to use proper meaningful names for the instances. To do this, in the EZWave Viewer window, right click on the instance name and then rename it to a proper name indicating its type, ex. IN, OUT
