Use Power World software to build this power system.
Adjusting the parameters
01. Bus 1 – Slack bus with a generator.
Generator: 33 kV, 200 MW, 200 MVAr.
02. Bus 2 – Load bus.
Load: 33 kV, 80 MW, 80 MVAr.
03. Bus 3 – Generator bus.
Generator: 33 kV, 100 MW, 150 MVAr.
04. Bus 4 – Load bus.
Load: 33 kV, 50 MW, 80 MVAr.
Transmission lines:
01. Bus 1 to Bus 2 transmission line:
02. Bus 1 to Bus 3 transmission line:
03. Bus 2 to Bus 3 transmission line:
04. Bus 2 to Bus 4 transmission line:
01. Use PowerWorld software to build this power system. Make sure the following
components have the given labels. Post screenshots.
a. Buses: Bus number, Voltage magnitude, Voltage angle.
b. Generators: Real power injection, Reactive power injection.
c. Loads: Real power draw, Reactive power draw.
d. Lines: Real power flow, Reactive power flow. Real power losses, Reactive power losses.
02. Run power flow analysis for this power system model and observe the power flow. Post a
screenshot of the working system on your report.
03. Report the following values:
a. Voltage (magnitude and angle) of each bus.
Bus Voltage Magnitude (kV) Voltage Angle
(1.00PU = 33.00kV) (Degrees)
ONE 33.00 0.00
TWO 29.04 0.20
THREE 33.00 2.97
FOUR 27.72 -1.62
b. The power flow in each transmission line.

c. The real and reactive power output from each generator.

04. PowerWorld is a powerful tool that allows us to run contingency analysis on the system.
That is, we can observe how the system reacts to specific situations. Simulate the following
contingencies and observe how the system reacts. Report if the system is still active and
the effect on the loads (is the full load still supplied?). For each analysis, post a screenshot
in your report. (Use the red boxes to turn on or off transmission lines)
a. Failure of the line between Bus 1 and Bus 3.
b. Failure of the line between Bus 2 and Bus 3.
c. Failure of the line between Bus 1 and Bus 2.
d. Failure of generator in Bus 3.
