trial Standard revised by the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry,
1
through deliberations at the Japanese Industrial Standards Committee
as the result of proposal for revision of Japanese Industrial Standard 1
submitted by The Japan Iron and Steel Federation (JISF)/Japanese
Standards Association (JSA) with the draft being attached, based on the
provision of Article 12 Clause 1 of the Industrial Standardization Law
1
applicable to the case of revision by the provision of Article 14.
Consequently JIS G 3473:2007 is replaced with this Standard. 1

I 6 Mechanical properties
The tube shall be tested in accordance with 9.2, and the obtained tensile strength,
I yield point or proof stress and elongation shall satisfy the requirements in table 4.
However, when the tensile test is performed on a No. 12 test piece taken from a tube
having a wall thickness under 8 mm, the minimum elongation shall be in accordance
I with table 5 in which the minimum elongations values corresponding to the wall thick-
ness ranges are obtained by subtracting 1.5, for every 1 mm reduction in the wall
I thickness, from the elongation values in table 4, and then by rounding the values to
integers in accordance with rule A of JIS Z 8401.

7 Dimensions, mass and dimensional tolerances
7.1 Dimensions and unit mass 1
The dimensions and unit mass of tubes shall be as follows.
a) For the dimensions of hot-finished seamless tubes, the outside diameter and the
wall thickness shall be designated by the purchaser.
1
b) For the dimensions of the cold-finished seamless tubes, shall be designated by the
purchaser by the outside diameter and the wall thickness in the case of tubes for
