SCRIPT FINAL DEMO:
PRAYER TO ATTENDACE: Please, stand up. Good morning, class! Before we start our session for today,
let us first ask the guidance of the Lord. Marwin, come forward and lead the prayer.
Class secretary, stand up. Please, keep track of our attendees and absentees for today and then hand me
a copy right after the class.
CHECK YOUR AREA: Before you take your seats, look at the floor and pick up any piece of paper or trash
you see.
Now, arrange your chairs. You can now take your seats.
CLASSROOM RULES: Before we start our lesson today, I want to let you know that I have three rules
whenever you are in my class. The first rule is ALL EYES AND EARS ON ME, do not avert your eyes, do not
avert your attention everywhere else unless its needed. All eyes and ears in front so that if I ask you a
question, you will be able to answer. Next, RAISE YOUR HAND IF YOU HAVE QUESTIONS, if you have
any concern about our lesson, just raise your hand, if you want to say something or you want to answer,
you have to raise your hand, you don’t have to answer in chorus so that I can assist you one by one. Last
but not the least rule is do not answer I DO NOT KNOW. What do I mean? If I ask you to stand up, please
know that I only want you to express your thoughts. Do not answer me MAAM I DO NOT KNOW THE
ANSWER, because you know. Be comfortable in sharing your ideas because whenever youre in my class
no answers are incorrect as long as you are trying. Do you understand the classroom rules?
If yes, again what are the classroom rules?
RULE NO 1 EYES ON YOU, RULE NO 2 RAISE MY HAND, RULE NO 3 YES I KNOW
REVIEW: Now, before we get into our new topic for today, let us do a quick recap or review of the
previous conversation. But first, I'd want to introduce you to our new friend, CHLOE. And she needs your
help. Chloe is hungry and wants to eat burger and hotdog sandwiches, but the ingredients are at home.
But she cannot find her way back home. You can help Chloe navigate her way back home and complete
the ingredients for her cravings by answering each question correctly. Are you ready to help our new
friend, class?
If yes, let us start with the first question.
Chloe is on her way back home.
One more correct answer, Chloe will successfully complete the ingredients for her cravings.
I am glad that you were able to recall our previous topic. At this point, with your help class, Chloe is
finally home and got the ingredients.
Chloe says..
Would you still help our friend Chloe?
MOTIVATION: To help Chloe in preparing the ingredients for her cravings, you have to play the game
named, BUT NOT COMPLETE. This is how you are going to play it, I am going to divide the whole class
into two teams, this will be the team 1 and this will be the team 2. First thing to do, you have to choose
5 representatives in your group, form a line in the middle, and then receive the ingredients. Open it and,
once you've seen all of the ingredients, decide who will be the first to paste them on the board. One
student at a time. The first student in line will paste the first ingredient on the board, followed by the
next student, and so on until the last. Do you understand, class? Your timer starts now.
At this moment, you successfully helped Chloe in preparing the ingredients for burger and hotdog
sandwiches. Notice the words written in each ingredient; when you read them, what comes to your
mind first?
DISCUSSION:
Very quick answer, PARAGRAPH. Very good! And our topic for today’s discussion is COMPOSING
EFFECTIVE PARAGRAPHS. But first, let me present to you our objectives. Can you please read it all
together?
OBJECTIVES: Take note of this since these are the things you are bound to see and learn about
throughout our discussion today.
Now, when you hear the word PARAGRAPH, what comes to you mind?
Very good! SENTENCES.
A paragraph is a group of sentences about a certain idea or topic. As I always tell you, how many
sentences a paragraph can consist?
Correct! Each paragraph can consist of 3-5 sentences.
___________________._______________________._________________________________.________
____________________________________.______________________________________.
(sulat mo sa board) this is what we call a paragraph. It consist of 3-5 sentences. The question is how to
compose paragraphs? You have to follow the structures in writing paragraphs. What do we mean by
structures?
A structure refers to the main parts of your paragraph.
Just like what you did earlier, you followed some steps to prepare the burger and hotdog sandwiches. In
writing form, to write effective paragraphs, you have to follow structures or the recipe for writing a
paragraph.
1. TOPIC SENTENCE: Whenever you write paragraphs, the first thing you need to write is the topic
sentence, you have to state first the main focus of your writing. For example (dikit mo example sa
board) please, take note that a first sentence should be indented and you can write your topic sentence
whether at the very first part in your paragraph, in the middle or in the end but it’s usually written in
first part.
Can you please read the signal words you can use to state your topic sentence. (tawag ka student)
Very good! Now, after you state the main focus of your paragraph, what do you think you need to write
next?
2. SUPPORTING SENTENCES: Very good! You have to support the topic by providing facts and particular
examples. That will serve as your supporting sentences (dikit mo example sa board). For examples, these
are all facts about junk food, these are all came from studies that is why these support the main topic. It
can be more than two sentences.
Can you please read the signal words you can use to state your supporting sentences. (tawag ka
student)
Very good! Now, after you provide supporting details about your topic, what do you think you need to
write next?
3. CONCLUDING SENTENCE: You have to sum up all the ideas and sentences you wrote by writing a
concluding sentence.
(tawag ka student) Is this a conclusion? How did you say so? Correct! Because of the use of the signal
word THEREFORE. That is the purpose of using the appropriate cohesive devices or signal words when
writing a paragraph. For your readers to easily to know that this is a topic sentence, these are the
supporting sentences, and this is a concluding sentence.
(Basahin mo yung when to switch to a new paragraph)
At this point, do you have any question in mind, class?
If none, then its your turn to make a hotdog sandwich since I already made the burger sandwich. Now,
its your turn. Complete the next paragraph.
I provided the signal words beside each ingredient of this hotdog sandwich that will serve as your guide.
Now, we have here jumbled sentences that is still about the topic junk food. All you have to do is to read
the sentences and paste them beside the signal words to help you determine if it’s a topic sentence,
supporting sentences, or a concluding sentence. Do you understand, class?
Janna, Althea, Princess, Jane, and Hans, please, come up to the improvised board, choose one sentence
and then paste it on the board.
Let us see if your answers are all correct. Caitlyn, can you please turn it around for us to see the
complete paragraph?
Very good! You got it all right! That’s how you construct effective paragraphs. Do you have any
clarification, class?
GROUP ACT: At this point, you are going to do your group activity. I am going to divide the class into six
(6) groups. Each group will receive a one (1) social media post and six (6) reactions and you have to write
a well-structured paragraph at the back of it, then post it in front. After that, choose one among all the
paragraphs posted and decide what reaction you want to give. You have 10 minutes to work on your
activity. I also provided criteria for paragraph writing, this is how you will be graded. Are we clear, class?
GENERALIZATION: Because you helped Chloe earlier, she wants to say something to you, class. Read it
all together. She likes to share her hamburger and hotdog sandwiches with you. But you have to
summarize our discussion for today.
Chloe chose you to summarize our topic for today’s discussion. Please, stand up.
Now, how can you apply this lesson to real-life situations?
INDIVIDUAL ACT/EVAL: For your individual activity, read each question carefully and write the correct
answers in a ¼ sheet of paper.
ASSIGNMENT: Now, for your homework, you need to write a well-structured paragraph on one of the
following topics. Choose only one topic. Follow the structures we discussed today. Keep your paragraph
between 5 – 10 sentences.
