Class 10 Mathematics Question Paper

Maximum Marks: 50 Time Allowed: 1 Hour 30 Minutes

General Instructions:

1. All questions are compulsory.

2. The question paper consists of three sections - A, B, and C.

3. Use of a calculator is not permitted.

4. Show all necessary steps for full marks.

5. Attempt questions as per the marks allotted.

Section A - Very Short Answer Type Questions (1 mark each - 5 x 1 = 5 marks)

Q1. Find the value of k if the quadratic equation 2x² + kx + 3 = 0 has equal roots. (1 mark)

Q2. Write the condition for a pair of linear equations to have a unique solution. (1 mark)

Q3. If the mean of a data set is 25 and the sum of all values is 250, find the number of observations. (1 mark)

Q4. Write the general form of a quadratic equation. (1 mark)

Q5. Find the mode of the following data: 3, 6, 3, 9, 6, 3, 6, 6, 9. (1 mark)

Section B - Short Answer Type Questions (2 marks each - 5 x 2 = 10 marks)

Q6. Solve the pair of equations:

x + y = 10,

x - y = 4. (2 marks)

Q7. Find the roots of the quadratic equation x² - 7x + 12 = 0 by factorization. (2 marks)

Q8. Calculate the median of the following data:

Marks: 0-10 10-20 20-30 30-40 40-50

No. of Students: 5 8 10 7 5 (2 marks)

Q9. Find the value of k so that the pair of linear equations:

kx - y = 2,
