1- Drum Gear Box Motor: Motor runs (digital output) and rotates the drum if;
a. Required water level information is ok by inlet water transmitter. PLC allows operator
for the level set point adjustment.
2- Inlet Water Level Transmitter:
a. Gives analog input to PLC for the liquid level of inlet water.
b. When the inlet water level reached to overflow level set point PLC gives alarm for
overflow. Recommended water level for overflow alarm is given on the “side view
section” drawing.
c. When inlet water level increased to flushing start set point (flushing start set point
should be adjsutable from PLC for operator) flushing will be started. Flushing is
operated by Inlet Water Level (inlet water level transmitter) and timer;
i. When flushing is started;
1. Flushing pump starts (digital output) by the “water level for flushing
start” signal (from inlet water level transmitter) coming from plc
(pump is able to run, if the outlet water level is ok by upper and
bottom level probes). Recommended water level for flushing start is
given on the “side view section” drawing.
2. Flushing Pump runs till the inlet water level is decreased to flushing
stop set point (flushing stop set point should be adjsutable from PLC
for operator). Recommended water level for flushing stop is given on
the “side view section” drawing.
3. Flushing pump runs for adjusted flushing time (pump is able to run, if
the outlet water level is ok by upper and bottom level probes) and
cleans the drum by the completion of each interval filtration time (to
keep the system in the safe side even if the water level is not
increased).
a. Interval Filtration Time: time period to provide one cycle of
flushing:
b. Flushing Time: pump run time for flushing.
***All time values and water level values should be adjsutable for operator to provide best values
according to site conditions.
3- Outlet Water Level Transmitter:
a. Gives analog input to PLC for the liquid level of outlet water.
b. Monitoring of outlet water level.
*** Outlet Water Level Transmitter can also be used for to protect the flushing pump against running
without water.
4- Scrapper Blade Piston: Piston is operated by scrapper blade piston namur valve.Namur valve
coil is activated by control board (digital output) and scrapper makes a move one cycle to
remove the scales from drum (a pressurized air supply should be connected to namur valve).
This action is controlled by a timer. By the completion of adjusted set time, scrapper makes a
move one cycle to remove the scales from drum.

5- Level Probe, Bottom: Gives Digital input when the probe is connected to a Liquid Level Relay.
6- Level Probe, Upper: Gives Digital input when the probe is connected to a Liquid Level Relay.
a. Flushing pump runs under control of Bottom and Upper Level Probes. Flushing pump
runs or doesn’t run according to outlet water level, when conditions for flushing
occurs.
i. Water level is above the upper, bottom and ground level probes; pump runs.
ii. Water level is below the upper water level probe but above the bottom and
ground level probe; pump runs.
iii. Water level is below upper, bottom and ground level probes; pump doesn’t
run (since there must be water for the pump to suck when it is running).
Running conditions are controlled by water level probes. If there is enough
water level to suck, pump runs. If there is no enough water level to suck, pump
doesn’t run or it stops.).
