Direct and indirect object

Direct object = the thing or person that receives the action directly.
Indirect object = the person/thing for whom or to whom the action is done.
Structure often: Subject + Verb + Indirect Object + Direct Object
(I gave her a gift)
If you use a preposition (“to/for”), the indirect object comes after it.
