Quality Control and Government
Standards
Ensuring consistent water purity and safety is critical in the packaged drinking water
industry. To maintain product quality and gain government approvals, the plant must
adhere to strict quality control measures and statutory standards.

🔹 E. External Testing & BIS Surveillance

Monthly: Send water samples to a BIS-approved external lab.

BIS Surveillance: BIS officials conduct surprise inspections and lab testing 2–4
     times a year.

Recordkeeping: Maintain daily, weekly, and monthly test logs and audit
     reports.
🔹 F. Quality Assurance SOP (Standard Operating
Procedures)

     Water source testing every quarter.

Scheduled backwashing and filter media replacement.

Monthly RO membrane cleaning (CIP – Clean In Place).

UV lamp replacement every 8,000 hours or as needed.

Employee hygiene audits and area sanitation logs.
