Project Proposal – Shoe-Locker (Web Version)
1. Introduction
Shoe-Locker Web is a user-friendly e-commerce platform tailored for sneaker enthusiasts and casual shoppers
alike. The platform focuses on providing a seamless shoe shopping experience through its responsive and
interactive web application. It caters to a wide range of users, allowing them to explore, compare, and purchase
authentic shoes with ease and security.
The web version complements the previously developed mobile application by offering accessibility through
desktop and browser interfaces, improving reach and convenience. Built using the MERN stack, the platform
ensures modern design, performance, and scalability.
2. Project Justification
Background of the Project
The increasing trend of online shopping in the footwear market has pushed many businesses toward digital
solutions. While mobile shopping apps are popular, desktop browsing remains a significant part of e-commerce.
A full-fledged web platform allows users to enjoy a larger view, smoother navigation, and multitasking during
shopping.
Furthermore, local and global brands require an online presence where customers can conveniently browse
collections, filter choices, and make secure payments.
Problem Statement
Many online shoe stores lack responsive interfaces, product categorization, and personalization. Moreover, trust
and product authenticity are frequent concerns in digital commerce. There is a need for:
- A user-friendly web interface that showcases shoes with detailed images, prices, and categories.
- Smooth cart and checkout functionality with order tracking.
- Secure login and account management.
- A platform that removes clutter and focuses on speed, experience, and product quality.
3. Aim
To develop a responsive, scalable, and interactive web application that provides an efficient shopping experience
for footwear buyers, supporting secure transactions, smooth browsing, and intuitive design.
4. Objectives
- Develop a web-based e-commerce platform for purchasing shoes.
- Implement secure login and registration features for users.
- Enable product browsing, filtering, and detailed views.
- Integrate a cart and checkout system with payment options.
- Display user order history and account information.
- Ensure mobile responsiveness and performance across browsers.
5. Features
- User Authentication: Secure login/signup with email verification.
- Product Browsing: View shoes by category, brand, and price.
- Search & Filters: Smart filters for better user navigation.
- Cart System: Add/remove products with real-time updates.
- Checkout Process: Integrated with payment gateways.
- Order History: Users can view their past orders.
- Responsive Design: Compatible with mobile and desktop browsers.
6. Scope of Work
The web platform will be built using the MERN stack:
- MongoDB – Database to store user data, orders, and product info.
- Express.js – Backend APIs for authentication, order processing, etc.
- React.js – Frontend development with Tailwind CSS for modern UI.
- Node.js – Server-side operations and middleware configuration.
7. Project Plan
8. Prototypes
Mockups for:
- Login Page
- Sign Up Page
-Dashboard
- Home
9. Conclusion
Shoe-Locker Web offers a complete digital storefront for customers looking to buy shoes online. By providing a
smooth, secure, and intuitive interface, it ensures that shoppers can access a quality experience across devices.
This version strengthens the project by extending its accessibility from mobile to web, supporting wider adoption
and greater reach.
