Parts of a computer:
1. Hardware
2. Sofware
3. Motherboard
4. CPU
5.RAM
6. Hard drive
7. Expansion cards
Motherboard:
-connects all components
- main circuit board
- provides passways for data to travel
between parts
- hosts CPU, RAM, storage and expansion
cards.
CPU:
-acts as a brain of the computer
- processes instructions from
programme and the OS
- performs calculations and makes
decisions

RAM:
- short term memory
- used while the computer is running
-stores data and programmes
temporarily
-more RAM = better multitasking and
speed
Input devices:
- examples of input devices are
keyboards, mouses and touch pads
- are hardware components used to enter
data and command into a computer and
other digital systems

Output devices:
- examples of output edevices are
monitors, printers and speakers
- are hardware components used to send
info from a computer to the user or
another system. They take data
generated by the computer and present
it to a human readable or usable form.
Storage devices:
- examples: hard disk drives (HDDs)
USB flashdrives and solid state drives
(SSDs)
- storage devices are hardware
components used to store data for long
term or short term use
- they come in different looks, each with
different capacity, speed, and
technologies

Expanison cards:
- hardware that you can insert to your
computer to improve the capabilities
that it may not have had in the start
