Ends
Cut two 6 7/8” x 9 1/2” pieces from the
wood material for the Ends (A).
Measure up 4 3/4” from the bottom
along the two long sides of the piece
and make a mark.
x2
Measure over 2” from each top corner
and make marks on the top.
Connect these two marks as shown
and draw a line.
Remove the material shown in gray in
the illustration.
Make two of these Ends (A).

Ends (continued)
Measure 1” down from the top in the
center of each of the Ends (A).
Drill a hole that is about halfway
through the material (about 3/8” if you
are using 3/4” thick material).
Do this to each of the two Ends (A).

Handle, Sides & Bottom
Cut a piece of 5/8” dowel at 10 3/4” for
the Handle (B). Set this piece aside for
now.
Cut two 4 3/4” x 10” pieces from the
x2 wood material for the Sides (C).
Cut one 5 7/8” x 10” piece from the
wood material for the Bottom (D).

Assembly
Using only wood glue, assemble the
caddy as shown:
Apply glue to both of the short ends of
both of the Sides (C), and sandwich
them between the Ends (A). Make sure
the holes for the Handle (B) are facing
each other.
Place the Handle (B) in the holes, but
do not use any glue. If the Handle (B)
is too long to allow the Ends (A) and
the Sides (C) to come together, cut a
little off one end to make it t better.
Use clamps to hold the assembly
together, but do not tighten the clamps
just yet.
Please the Bottom (D) into the open
space with glue. Tighten the clamps
now.

Miller Dowels
After the glue dries from the previous
step, use the Miller Dowel drill bit to
drill 1/4” diameter holes, as deep as the
indicator on the bit, in the Ends (A) and
Sides (C) as shown for the Miller
Dowels.
The center of the holes are 1/4” from
their closest edge. If you are using
material that is thicker than the 1/2”
used in these plans, then drill the holes
half the thickness of your material from
the edges (e.g. 3/8” for 3/4” material).
The holes marked as “centered” are
simply centered on the piece.
Drill the seven holes in the same
locations on both of the Ends (A), and
the three holes in the same locations
on the Sides (C).

Miller Dowels (continued)
Apply a small amount of wood glue to
each Miller Dowel and place them in
the holes you drilled earlier.
Using a mallet, drive the Miller Dowels
down into the holes, until they bottom
out.
A small portion of the dowel’s head will
be protruding. Use a ush trim saw to
cut those ush and sand them smooth.

Finished!
And with that, you are nished!
You can also add dividers and a bottle opener to this caddy to hold your
beverage of choice. This would make a great Father’s Day or birthday gift.
Also, apply any nish to the caddy as you wish to protect it.
Great job, and here’s a Virtual Fist Bump!
