Notes

The document discusses arithmetic and geometric progressions, defining a geometric progression as a sequence where each term is a fixed multiple (common ratio) of the preceding term. It emphasizes that the first term must be non-zero and that no term in a geometric progression can be zero. Additionally, the document includes sections for problems related to these concepts.

GEOMETRIC PROGRESSION
12 May 2025 22:08

A sequence is said to be in geometric progression (G.P.) when its first term is non-zero and each of its
succeeding terms is r times the preceding term, where r is some fixed non-zero number. The fixed
number r is known as the common ratio of the G.P. It is clear from the definition that no term of a
G.P. is zero.
