John Locke Father Of Liberalism
The seventeenth century English philosopher, John Locke, is often remembered for his wise,
brilliant contributions to great public issues that still continues to concern us today. In the
seventeenth century, there was an evolution of two new types of governments resulting from the
instability caused by religious wars. One type of governmentwas a constitutional monarchyin which
rulers were confined to the laws of the state, and the other type was an absolute monarchyin which
the king has power over everything. Locke preferred the former of the two types. Thus, he is
famously known as the Father of Liberalism, and his work on the theory of the state has earned him
a place as a respectable intellectual in modern day history textbooks. He arguably has had one of the
most profound effects on the principles upon which the government of the United States was
founded. Moreover, he wrote and developed the philosophy that there is no legitimate government
under the divine right of kings theory. Additionally, his writings consisted of the idea that the power
to govern was obtained from the permission of the people. The creation of a constitutional monarchy
through John Locke s ideas and numerous written accounts left such a huge legacy on modern day
government and politics that it continues to influence the structure and operation of public
administration today.
In order to understand what type of government Locke believes individuals should support and why,
it is important to
Nonprofit Organizations Benefits
Chief Executive Officers make a lot of money. In fact, the average CEO earns 212 times that of
the average American worker in the United States (Stelzer, 1997). This means they earn six to
seven figures just on average. Some earn way more than this. Many people question whether
CEO s deserve to earn this much money. Is it fair that CEO s live in such luxury, while some of
their employees work very hard and still struggle to make ends meet? This question is complicated
enough. However, it gets more complicated when this question is asked about nonprofit
organizations. Should nonprofit CEO s and other executives receive compensation that is
comparable to the market, or is that taking advantage of the resources that have been generously
given to the organization by people who want to see those organizations do good and accomplish a
mission? Justification Now, this is certainly a question worth asking. With CEOs of for profit
organizations, the money used to pay them comes from selling goods or services. However, with
nonprofit organizations, the money comes from a variety of places. However, a large portion of this
money is from donors. It could also be from grants, or even the government. In for profit
organizations, the consumer putting the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The need for self selection is due, in part, to the fact that nonprofits are not subject to the usual
checks and balances imposed by shareholders of for profits. Such compensation packages generally
involve lower base salaries and higher institution specific fringes as compared with those benefits
offered in the for profit sector. As long as nonprofits can distinguish between high ability and low
ability managers, by paying less they avoid attracting rejects from the for profit sector and still
attract managers whose output is no less than those in the for profit sector (Barragato, 2002, p.
Identifying An Unknown Substance Can Be Accomplished With...
Data Analysis
Identifying an unknown substance can be accomplished with the use of multiple scientific tests.
Conducting these experiments will narrow down the possibilities of the unknown compound. The
number of the unknown substance that I was given was A84841BIR, It posed to be a challenge
since I needed to test three different molecular combinations for this specific substance. Once the
number of moles the in substance was calculated using the ideal gas law, I divided it from the sample
mass number. After vaporizing away the unknown compound, I then concluded that the molarity of
my unknown chemical was 58.93 g/mol. To find my molecular formula I calculated the mass of
each element, then the moles, lastly I took the smallest whole number ratio. Using the molarity
calculated I was able to do some research to get a better understanding of what my unknown
chemical could be. Once I have collected all my data together and researched the Internet for articles
relating to understanding Infa Red spectroscopy, I should be able to make an educated guess upon
what my unknown solution could be.
The first step was to calculate the molecular formula, using the given masses on the combustion
worksheet. Using the ideal gas law, I converted the given grams to moles. The next step was to find
out the amount of oxygen in the combustion, then after more calculations, I was able to plug my
value into the ideal gas law and find the molecular weight. After calculating the molecular formula I
Maggie Monologue
Sitting at his desk with the lamp turned down low, Ben watched the shadows flicker softly over
Maggie s body lying in the bed across the room, the light casting her hair almost the perfect shade of
gold.

Opening the top drawer, Ben pulled out a piece of yellowing paper and a pencil. Laying them on his
desk, he gathered his thoughts before leaning forward taking pencil to paper.

Rachel,

I know I shouldn t be writing you letters, but I can t seem to help myself. Regardless of our past,
your past, I still can t say that I never loved you.

The kids are good. Danny has only had a few episodes since my last letter, all brought on by his
adventures with Charlie, of course. Maggie, the woman who I wrote to you about, can work miracles

She has your bravery and Miles everything else. She resents everything from having a stepmother to
the color of the sky.

Our village is remotely located for their safety and I ve tried my best to protect them from the evil
that now lives in the world. She s fourteen and thinks she knows everything, wanting nothing more
than to go out into that very world, but how can I let her when that time finally arrives? God only
knows what Sebastian would do to her, to find me, regardless of whose child she is and what would
happen if she were to discover that the General s mistress is actually her Mother?

I die a little each day, having to lie to our children about so many things. My only consolation if she
does leave, is that none of you there will recognize the beautiful woman she s turning into.

Cameron s Speech On The 2011 Riots
In his speech on the riots, Cameron discounted social conditions such as poverty and unemployment
as reasons for the 2011 riots, and focussed instead on criminality and morality (Andrews, G. 2014).
This essay will compare and contrast this conservative view of the riots with the radical view. A riot
is an occasion involving violence directed at property, persons or authority. The current
understanding of the term riotdates back to the fourteenth century, when it began to suggest violence
and disorder among the population. By the eighteenth century violence and disorder was on the rise
in England, which resulted in Parliament passing the Riot Act of 1715. Conservatism is
characterised for their resistant to change, although when it is necessary,... Show more content on

The discussion on BBC News night highlighted the differences in the conservative and radical views
on the riots. Ian Kinsella described his concern at how the rioters would be controlled going
forward. He described how he pleaded with the rioters to stop, however was chased off and told
You re insured mate, you ll be ok! . Opposite Ian Kinsella was Cody Lachey, a proud mancunion
who admitted to dressing inconspicuously to partake in the looting. Cody Lachey had a change
of heart and although he fully supported the looters, he decided against looting. Kirsty the BBC
news reporter pointed out that Cody Lachey had served in the military overseas in Afghanistan
and Bosnia, he also worked as a security guard for large retailers, she questioned why he doesn t
turn the looters in? Cody s response Because I understand...We live in an impoverished society
where people do what they have to do to feed their families, and that s the life we re living. (The
Open University, 2017). Cody s response is one shared with a high percentage of the rioters, they
blamed the crushing effect of poverty, parents who have to work two or three jobs to make ends
meet, parents who have no time for their children, no childcare, increase intuition fees, closure of
youth services and scrapping of education maintenance and lack of respect from the police. It is
believed 59% of those arrested for rioting were unemployed and conceded their involvement in
looting was simply down to opportunism, saying that a perceived suspension of normal rules
presented them with the opportunity to acquire goods and luxury items they could not ordinarily
afford. (Rusbridger, A. 2017). Martin Luther King once defined rioting as the language of the
unheard. This was a radical s view expressed by a youth worker shortly after the 2011

Competition Is An Intrinsic Part Of Human Lives
Competition is an intrinsic part of human lives; it is all around us through sporting events, job
interviews, class rankings, video games, music competitions, and so on. There is something
inside people that creates an odd desire to be the best, and this creates competition. For example,
if someone is at a music competition and they see a leaderboard, their innate response is that they
wish to be at the top of the leaderboard. In a football season, the goal for a team is to prove they
are the best in the league by making it to the championship game and winning. People are always
trying to prove that they are the best or one of the best at an activity, but finding the reason behind it
takes some digging. Of course, one could say that it is... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When I interviewed Seth Chapman about his competitive gaming, I asked him why he decided to
play competitively rather than in a casual environment, and he replied, Generally the reason why I
keep playing competitive is just because, one, it s challenging; it always keeps you with the players
that are equal to your level so matches are always interesting (Chapman). First, he provides further
proof that gamers desire challenges when he says the competitive matches are always interesting as
opposed to casual gameplay. More importantly, he reinforces the theory that humans desire challenge
because he enjoys playing in the high pressure matches of competitive Overwatch more than casual
play. Not only is he facing tighter competition with the opposing team, but he is also faced with the
additional challenge of performing up to par with his teammates since teams are created with similar
skill level between players. Another example of the human need for challenge is through drum
corps, professional marching band organizations. Alex Douglass plays snare drum in Music City
Drum and Bugle Corps where he pays corps fees after he passes his audition, and he receives
nothing in return except being a part of the corps on tour. I asked Alex why he wanted to do drum
corps instead of being satisfied by high school and college marching band, and he replied, I did drum
corps to perform at a higher level that I couldn t get in high school or college band
