Happiness In Abilene Texas
Happiness is one of the most significant dimensions of human experience. Many people can argue
that happiness is a meaningful and desirable entity. Studies indicate that everyone pursues
happiness in various aspects of their life. Our four fathers saw happiness as a need, so they made
the pursuit of happiness as one of the three unalienable rights branded in the Declaration of
Independence. There is a sense of complexity behind the meaning of happiness; its definition is not
definite. Think of happiness as a rope; there are many thin fiber strands bonded together to become
the strength of the rope. Like the analogy of the rope, there are numerous factors that can contribute
to an individual s overall happiness in life. This study is going to... Show more content on

Based off the previous research done by Hughes and Thomas (1986) Glenn noticed a complete
disregard for gender. The gap between whites and blacks neared to a close but there was still a
lack of how women and men described and valued their own definitions of happiness. One of these
constructs was called eudaimonia which is a way of living focused on what is intrinsically
worthwhile to human beings (Ryan, Huta, Deci, 2008, p. 147; Aghababaei Blachnio, 2014) which is
hard to generalize when dealing with more than one
How Technology Can Help Prevent Infections And The...
As technology evolves, we have available new and better ways to solve problems. In IT or
Information Technology, we are often asked to implement new technology solutions to make
users more efficient. These usually are projects of various sizes and always involve research,
planning, preparation, implementation, maintenance, support and troubleshooting. As an
example a completed project might make work flows easier, faster and reduce errors. Updates are
a very important issue in IT. Keeping up to date can help prevent infections and is essential in the
protection of sensitive information from would be intruders. Examples of common things
needing to be updated are: Windows, anti virus programs, Internet Explorer and other browsers,
and web plug ins like Adobe Flash, Java, etc. Many of these can be set to update automatically but
if that s the case you need to consider that new updates can sometimes break things and that some
programs may not be tested and compatible with the newest updates or versions of programs.
Technology changes at a very rapid pace. IT must make their best effort to stay educated on the
latest technologies that apply both in and out of the workplace. There are many examples of this
but a good general one is the proliferation of smart phones. Smart phones come in many different
varieties with new models and software/apps being released constantly. IT staff are expected to be
knowledgeable and competent in their use, and to make sure they are in
Sigmund Freud And The Interpretation Of Dreams
Before the chaos of the first worldwide conflict, the Great War, psychologists were looking deeper
into the human mind trying to find the hidden meaning of dreams. Deeper meaning began to creep
its way into both literature and art with both types of creators trying to convey meaning that is more
than meets the eye in their works. Symbolism became a popular movement with the increased
interest in psychology by those such as the famous psychologist, Sigmund Freud. This interest
continued to raise through the years following the Great War especially in the country most blamed
for the war, Germany. This blame and instability of the country fueled the expressionist movement
making the work created during this time emotional and cynical towards their situation. Through
these events and advancements in psychology works such as The Apparition by Gustave Moreau
and The Screamby Edvard Munch were created.
Sigmund Freud is well known for his interest in the human mind. In Freud s novel The
Interpretation of Dreams, published in 1913, explores the deeper meaning behind everyday life.
His book explores various meanings of common types of dreams, theories on how dreams relate to
everyday life, and two types of dreams: wish fulfilment dreams and distortion dreams. These types
of dreams are simply put good dreams vs nightmares. Sigmund Freud believed dreams were caused
by a person s experiences in waking life, fears, wishes, their unconscious and consciousness. Sigmund

Hp Cisco Essay
What are the challenges facing Jim Heal and Mike Thomas? Jim Heal of Hewlett Packard, Inc
(HP) and Mike Thomas of Cisco Systems, Inc (Cisco) were both leaders of strategic alliance
management teams that were formed in early 1997. Both teams were created to help facilitate the
strategic alliance that was formed between HP and Cisco. As with all alliances, a wide variety of
issues and challenges emerged that had be to be resolved and it was the purpose of the alliance
teams to solve such issues. Beginning in February 2002, a formal contract to expand the HP and
Cisco alliance was being negotiated and it was during this time that several important challenges
emerged that would require the full attention of Mr. Heal and Mr. Thomas. One... Show more content

Therefore Mr. Heal and Mr. Thomas will need to develop a joint business plan whereby both firms
can leverage the alliance without impeding on creativity, future development, or current product
offerings. A third challenge facing Mr. Heal and Mr. Thomas is the issue of a salesforce that is
properly setup to accommodate the strategic alliance. On page six of the case, we learn that the HP
Microsoft and IBM Cisco alliances both utilized dedicated sales staff. We also learn that in Europe,
HP used a specialized, dedicated sales force for selling HP services bundled with Cisco products.
(Page 6) In fact, Elias Stephan, who was then HP services group s global alliance director, noted
that In Europe, the relationship with the field is much better. (Page 6) If both HP and Cisco were
used to utilizing dedicated sales staff with strategic alliances, what incentive was there for both
firms to break the trend when dealing with an HP Cisco alliance? Page eight of the case begins to
outline some of the challenges that the HP Cisco alliance had already faced concerning the sale of
joint products. For example, we learn that at HP, Cisco products did not count towards a sales
representative s quota and this resulted in a decline in sales of Cisco equipment by HP sales
representatives. Further, if HP or Cisco sales staff had to master not only their parent company
product line,
Essay on My Grandmother
My Grandmother

This poem explores the relationship between the speaker and her grandmother. It focuses on the
remorse and guilt she felt and perhaps does still feel about the way she behaved towards her on one
occasion, and can be seen as an attempt to exorcise this.

The poem is divided into four parts: the first stanza describes her grandmother working in the shop;
the second the incident which causes her guilt; the third stanza shows her in retirement. In the final
stanza, after her grandmother has died, the speaker reflects on herself and her grandmother s life.

The first stanza sets the scene the antique shop reflects the character and life of the grandmother. The
words it kept her suggest that it seems, to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In fact, beneath the images of polish, silver and brass lies someone who can be hurt , who feels
though never speaks about how she feels, and who comes to be
frail ; the poem deals with the speaker s complex response to this realisation. The grandmother s life
is bound up with the antiques even after she no longer keeps the shop. They accompany her to the
long, narrow room in which she essentially waits to die. This third stanza is full of unattractive
images shadows, the smell of absence, things too long shut up yet the speaker still has to
acknowledge that, to her grandmother, they represent all her best things . This imagery sums up the
lfe of a person who has been defined by her antiques the smell of absences suggests the memories that
the grandmother attaches to these objects, but it also hints at an unfulfilled existence, while
the shadows.../ That can t be polished suggest the grandmother s loss of her habitual control as she
nears death (a state itself often associated with shadow), and are a disturbingly vague image.

In the poem s final image, the new dust falling through the air ,
Jennings economically suggests the grandmother s joining of the antiques she devoted her life to.
But this image simultaneously reminds us of her absence from the room
Central Delaware Riverfront District
Central Delaware Riverfront District is a place with rich history. This article is mainly about
comparing the master plans of this area issued in the late 20th Century and 2011.

As part of the background, I d like to mention that the development of Central Riverfront District
could be traced back to 1967. The Philadelphia City Planning Commission made a plan to build the
I 95 Express Highway in that year. It was a postwar interstate highway happening with the
automobile growth, serving the purpose of development out. But it also isolated the riverfront
(which was mainly the industrial area at that time) with the center city, putting the future
development of the waterfront district into a negative position.

Fig 1 1967 Proposed Land Use of Center City Redevelopment Area

In the late 20th Century about 1980, there was a master plan for Central Delaware Riverfront issued
by Philadelphia City Planning Commission. It stated consideration for the whole planning from the
aspects of transportation, land use, development phasing, recreation open space and so on, by
previously studying the existing condition and analyzing development potential of the site. The
background of the plan was that Philadelphia entered the post industrial era because of industry
decline. Some of the piers were no longer in use and many factories were moved to other places.
The riverfront district needed to be redeveloped.

After 30 years, the Planning Commission approved another master plan for Central
Essay On Polygamy
Polygamy Should Be Legalized in The United States
Should polygamy be legalized in United States? Love and marriage is traditionally defined by the
union of two people. However, one may argue that there are overwhelming benefits of a
nontraditional marriage. It s often quoted that it takes a village to raise a child, not just one mother
and one father in a household. This view is supported within polygamy. Polygamy is defined as A
marriage in which a spouse of either sex may have more than one mate at the same time (Marriam
Webster). This practice of polygamy goes back for most of man s recorded history and is
mentioned in most major religions. Even though most religions do not practice polygamy anymore
it is still apart the Islamic and Mormon doctrine. It is illegal in the United States to marry someone
while still lawfully married to another person. The outlaw of polygamy is a violation of a citizen s
Constitutional right to practice their religion. For those who currently practice outside the law, this
creates a constitutional midpoint where they may be imprisoned for exercising their rights.
Although it may be illegal in the United States, polygamy is a principle aspect of several religions;
it supports women and children and it helps reduce the number of unmarried women. The First
Amendment of the United States gives citizens the freedom to practice religion and freedom of
speech. As human beings we should have the right to practice our religious beliefs without fear
Investigating Potential Sustainable Solutions For Waste Of...
Introduction
This paper aims at investigating potential sustainable solutions for waste of the West Garforth
Township Development Project. It will aim at giving an assessment of the proposals of how waste
will be handled in the area during the construction phase as well as when the development is in its
operational phase. This is to cater for a population that is projected to increase by approximately
15% 25%. This paper also aims at assessing the feasibility of the chosen approaches including knock
on effects that would affect different aspects of the development.
Key Planning Objectives
The proposals chosen are aimed more at trying to use waste as a resource that can be recycled and
looking at its disposal as a secondary option to minimize on economic costs. This will be chosen
according to adequacy and effectiveness of the chosen the proposal. They also aim at creating a
system in which the locals will have to take responsibility for the waste emission during operation of
the development project and provide waste management facilities to meet the needs of the locals.
Moreover, to ensure that the waste is handled in a manner that would neither pollute the environment
nor affect human health in a negative way.
