The Origin Of Eugenics
EUGENICS
The origin of eugenics is strongly rooted to the emergence of Darwinism in the late nineteenth
century. Eugenics would seek increased stronger, healthy, intelligent people or specific ethnic or
social group to which directly or indirectly promotes non procreation of those who do not possess
these qualities coming to regard their application as an advantage in saving resources economic for
countries. In this sense it would be related to Malthusianism, the natalist and nationalism. The
methods of eugenics nineteenth and early twentieth century ranged from forced sterilization to
genocide. Modern eugenicists methods focus on prenatal diagnosis and fetal exploration, genetic
counseling, in vitro fertilization and genetic engineering.
Ethical Behavior Can Be Defined As Business Principals Essay
Synopsis
Ethical behavior can be defined as business principals that involve demonstrating respect for moral
values including honesty, fairness, equality, diversity and individual rights. (WebFinance ) Unethical
behavior mirrors the opposite of ethical behavior; they often lack moral values between right and
wrong. Some examples of unethical business behaviors are falsifying reports, stealing, poor working
environments, illegal trading and employee discrimination. With the growing number of Equal
Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) complaints, this analysis will focus on pregnancy
discrimination. In 2007, Peggy Young filed a lawsuit against United Parcel Service, Inc. (UPS)
alleging her unfair treatment due to her pregnancy is in violation of the Pregnancy Discrimination
Act 1978 (PDA), Young states that UPS refusing to accommodate her lifting restrictions is
unlawful and is in violation of her obligated accommodations. The Pregnancy Discrimination Act
was ratified in 1978 making discrimination based on pregnancy, childbirth, or related medical
conditions (Young v. United Parcel Service , 2014, p. 2) a form of discrimination against sex, a
violation of Title VII Civil Rights Act. (Silverman, 2014) PDA also states employers must treat
women affected by pregnancy the same for all employment related purposes as other persons not
so affected but similar in their ability or inability to work (Young v. United Parcel Service , 2014, p.
2) . United Parcel Service,
Industrial Farming And Its Effects On The Environment
Commercial farming today produces over 250 million pounds of the meat that is eaten. While some
see that industrial farming has its benefits such as less man power with technology, large scale
production, and lower prices, (Fredrick, Advantages of Industrial Agriculture) the industrial food
institutions have also had bad effects. These effects concern agriculture, the environment, human
health, and animals. Industrial farming can lead to environmental degradation, air and water
contamination, loss of biodiversity, loss of marine life, and even poor treatment of animals kept
inside these industrial farms (Horrigan, How sustainable Agriculturecan Address the
Environmental...). Because industrial farming is tied to these bad effects more sustainable
approaches can be made to lessen the severity of this occurring issue. Industrial farming has had
effects on our environment in many ways. Due to large scale farms having to hold many animals,
even millions, this comes with the responsibility of dealing with animal waste. A lot of this waste is
either put into fields for nourishment or is released throughout the air and even dumped into lakes
or oceans. This causes the water to then become unclean and useless. Making clean, drinkable water
for families and other animals even harder to access. Woodlands are also cut down in order to
produce human consumables that are then fed to more human consumables. For example, in
Argentina many of the woodlands have been cut down to produce
I Am Using A Vans Off The Wall Ad Essay
Photographers, like writers, make conscious decisions in order to create meaning. The varies
techniques they use are able to touch the audience in different ways. Advertisements have specific
appeal they want use before they even think about a photograph. For this analysis I m going to
describe my physical ad, explain what is the meaning, and point out what the photographer did to
create this meaning.
I m using a Vans Off The Wall ad which was put in the Thrasher monthly skateboarding magazine
in 2007. In the photograph they have the professional skateboarder, co owner of Flip Skateboards,
and owner of the Civil ware Service Corporation Geoff Rowley. Rowley is riding his skateboard
down this long rail of a huge set of stairs which is call grinding, because the skateboard is rubbing
against the rail. Based off the photo I can t tell if it was taken at a skatepark or not, but it does look
like a nice, clear summer day.
When you look at this Vans ad what does it mean to you? It may give off different meaning
depending on how you view it. I m sure to most viewers their receiving that Vans waffle grip
bottom has been around and working since 66. When looking at the photo you can get a sense of
adventure and risk or in skateboarders terms sketchiness. As a former skateboarder I believes it s a
way to express your daring, maybe outgoing side; like street art/graffiti. Skateboarding and street art
is very similar depending on the person s view point. Street art/graffiti is
Brennan s Argument Analysis
Brennan argues that one should not vote badly. I will be arguing in favor of Brennan s argument. I
will first start by stating the author s argument, then I will propose objections to his argument.
Brennan argue that one should obtain from voting if there vote will contribute to harmful activities.
The author calls this contribution to harmful activities bad voting; he does make the distinction that
someone does not vote badly if they have substantial evidence that the policy was good, but it ended
up being harmful. The individual votes do not have a large enough impact to sway the outcome of
the vote in a certain direction, the harm from bad voting is a collective effort among a group of
voters. This argument does take into account voting... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Every person may not have the same level of these components, but it is present. Everyone will
not know everything about the candidate they plan to vote for, they only know the high points of
their campaign. According to the LA TIMES It s a rare voter who carefully reads a candidate s
position papers on every conceivable topic. Instead, we typically vote based on a candidate s
stance on a subset of topics, assuming there will be a certain consistency on other
topics...Another conscious component of political decision making is voting for experience or
competence, rather than a platform. This is so common that one study found that candidates
judged to look more competent had won elections 68% of the time. (Sapolsky) Especially, with
how the media reports news about a particular candidate, they only report the parts of the
campaign that the public would consider controversial. This bias also depends on the news
station you are choosing to watch because the news reported is often swayed to reflect the views
of a certain political party. For example, FOX NEWS is known for having republican views,
MSNBC is known for having liberal views, and CNN is known for having democratic views. The
question now becomes what is the threshold of irrationality, bias, ignorance or immoral belief that
deems someone as a bad
Artificial Intelligence Bias
The last hundred years has seen incredible advances in what technology can do, and now
influence every part of our day. Many books and movies are built around a theme of the dangers
of technology becoming more intelligent than humans and turning against us, such as 2001: A
Space Odyssey, and the Terminator franchise. But will artificial intelligence ever be advanced
enough to turn against us? Perhaps not as a robot; artificial intelligence is already being used to
shape our actions, from what we buy to who we vote for. Artificial intelligence learns from the data
it is provided and finds patterns and connections. Since this data is provided by us humans, it learns
not only facts, but also picks up our biases and prejudices. A publication from UMBC Professor
Cynthia Matuszek shows that... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Injustice And Social Injustices
Introduction
Though the concept of social injustice is universal in nature, the experience varies with each person.
Factors like a person race, or gender can further influence the severity of the injustice; victims
caught in the overlap between discriminations often go unrecognized by the law and society. Many
people recognize the names Michael Brown, Eric Garner, and Tamir Rice as African Americans who
were murdered by local police. But names like Michelle Cusseaux, Tanish Anderson, and Meagan
Hockaday often receive less feedback even though they are also murdered African Americans. The
only distinction between the sets of names is gender. Even within racial injustice, discrimination is
present between genders as some cases get national ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In a publication titled Black Women in Academe , author Yolanda Moses describes how isolation,
invisibility, hostility, indifference, and a lack of understanding of the Black women s experiences
are all too often part of the climate Black women may face on campuses (Moses, 1989). The
detrimental environment surrounding these women frequently results in sullenness, lack of social
assertiveness, and belief that they are less competent than male students. Even if time spent at an
academic institution is minimal, with this kind of prejudice faced at an early age, any woman
black or otherwise, would suffer the rest of their life. In response to the discrimination faced at
universities, some have created programs to aid black students and other minorities; these programs
tend to generalize the needs of all its black students and do not fully support black women
specifically.
Double discrimination and its effects are not only seen in academe. Social injustice occurs in any
situation where people are treated unequally and includes discrimination and racism. For much of the
twentieth century, crime and punishment have provided some of the most powerful symbols of
racial divide in America (Rosich, 2007). Generally tried in a white dominated legal system, black
victims often face harsher punishment, longer sentences, and unfair trials. Rosich s research
indicates that white Americans widely believe that people of
Wrestling Is Not An Easy Sport
Proffessional wrestling is not an easy sport nor a nice business. Most aspiring wrestlers hesitate
before breaking into the business. The chances of making it in the wrestling business are very
slim, yet men and women still strive to be wrestlers everyday. Proffessional wrestling is not liek
being a laywer or a doctor, it is typically looked down upon. Many outsiders see professional
wrestlers as screw ups and failures. Pursuing the dream of being a professional wrestler is a huge
risk. Many wreslters start out training at local schools then start working the independent scene.
The independent scene is where many athleates make names for themselves. It is a large number
of small wrestling promotions throughout the world. Most independent wrestler only get paid
five dollars per match. By working the independent scene, a wrestler is risking everything. These
wrestlers work matches night after night and travel from city to city with little to no money. It is
common to see wrestlers stick around after shows to pick up left over food from the consession
stands. For most wrestlers this is normal. The five dollars they make from that night is used as gas
money. Many wrestlers sleep in their cars or at the building they wrestled in that night. Someone
has to love wrestling to want to be a wrestler because no one would put themselves through that
much poverty and starvation if it wasn t out of love and passion. While working the independent
scene most wrestlers hope to be seen by
Nationhood In Kotter Essay
Citizenship policies and ideas of nationhood in Scandinavia discusses immigration policies in
Scandinavian countries. It gives examples on how the Scandinavian countries have reviewed and
looked at policies from 19th century until today. In the first part, I will discuss citizenship in the
three countries, in the second part I will argue around the topic of language requirements and
national identity. The whole will end in a conclusion about how different the countries are in terms
of renewal of policies and integration. This essay will aim to look at the articles key contribution and
discuss the main arguments straights and weaknesses.

The Scandinavian countries have over decades created their own ways of dealing with immigration,
integration, citizenship and nationhood. As early as the 18th century the Scandinavian counties
developed their first citizen act (Norway; 1888, Sweden; 1894 and Denmark; 1898). They were

In Denmark, to obtain citizenship as a refugee, you have to have had eight years of residence.
Norway require that to obtain citizenship you have to have had legal residence for seven years.
What is special about Sweden s law for residence before getting citizenship is the principle of
hemvist , this implies that the individual has a strict subjective purpose of continuous residence,
seeking regular employment and setting up a permanent home ( Brochmann Seland, 2009p.434).
This means that to obtain citizenship, the migrant has to get a job and a place to stay before
applying for permanent residence. The advantages of this type of law embedded in the citizenship
act is that there is a bigger chance for the individual to integrate in society. In addition, the
government s asylum budget might be reduced, given that the individual is independently
responsible to find

Coral Bleaching Marine Environment
The main impact that the earth is having on the marine environment is climate change. Increasing
the oceans temperature by 0.7 degrees Celsius.

What is the Impact of Coral Bleaching?

Coral bleaching is one of the visual effect of climate change. Caused by the stress put on the coral
because of the temperature of the water becoming warmer. This major effect of climate change could
lead to the death of the Coral. This has been especially noticed on the Great Barrier Reef. Only
recently the earth has witnessed severe coral bleaching episodes all around the world.

Write An Essay About Moving Away From Ap Literature Class
Today is the day, the day I would get the paper I worked so hard on back. It is a chilly fall morning
as I walked to my AP Literature classroom. The classroom was full of vibrant colors that match my
teacher s fiery red hair, various pug pictures, and a shelf jam packed with Mr. Potato heads. Mrs.
Grimes, my teacher, is loud, impolite, and to say this nicely, she is an overweight older woman. I
hate going to her class every day, nothing I ever do is good enough for her, she hates me all
because I am quiet. So, I am very apprehensive about what grade I had received on this paper. As
Mrs. Grimes started to slowly pass the papers back, my heart started to race. Did she like my
paper, please let me get a good grade? I worked to make this the best, or most disturbing, ending I
could imagine for the story. I even used my prior knowledge about drug use and withdrawal from
my AP Psychology class to make my story better. I feared that none of this would matter to Mrs.
Grimes. I could hear her talking to the other students as she passed the papers back congratulating
them on writing an excellent paper. This made me even more anxious, would she even say
anything to me or would she just pass by me quickly after handing it back? I wish she would pass
back the papers faster!... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I could hear her shrill voice getting closer as she talked to my friend about her paper. Then, it was
my turn, I started to panic inside as she walked up to my desk paper in hand. Mrs. Grimes handed

with a stunned Thank you Mrs. Grimes. I am scared to look at my grade, Mrs. Grimes had liked it!
Does that mean I am finally going to get a good grade on a paper in her class? Slowly, I gathered up
enough courage to look at my grade. I looked down at my paper and I could not believe my
