Analysis Of The Book Of The Night By F. Scott Fitzgerald
Flashback Come on Madison lets go play Nathan smiled pulling me up from the couch. I sighed
and followed him outside to where the other pack kids were playing. Cameron looked over and
smiled running over to Nathan and I. You guys want to play catch with me and the guys? Nathan
grinned and nodded dragging me along. Ok so let s pick team captains. One of Cameron s friends
happily volunteered along with Cameron and they proceeded picking people to be on their teams.
I shifted awkwardly in the back and sighed, no one would pick me. I was too small. Madison, I
looked over at Cameron and he signaled for me to go to his side. I smiled slightly and stood next to
Nathan. Nathan gently squeezed my arm... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Get up he commanded angrily, a little Alpha tone seeping in his voice, making everyone flinch
and bow their heads in submission. My body as if robotically stumbled up only to be back
handed, I whimpered and got punched in the jaw in response. His wolfs nails extended and he
scratched my stomach. I whimpered in pain grabbing my stomach. I felt the warm liquid on my
hand but didn t look down, I already knew what it was. Cameron pulled back his fist punching me
where his claws had scratched me causing blood to pour out of my wound. Everyone just sat
there and laughed at me. I looked at the blood that fell to the floor getting a little woozy at the
sight. My eyes flickered to Nathan my brother in fear. He looked pained for a second before
joining in with the laughter. You ok? A voice came from beside me. It was Blake, oh thank god. I
almost sighed in relief as he wiped under my eye. I didn t even notice tears streaming down my
face. I wanted to go and hug him tightly knowing I d be safe in his arms, but I knew that would
be the wrong move in this situation. Blake, stay out of this. Cameron growled. No, she s a girl
Cameron and she s never done anything to you. he angrily responded. This is so not going to be
good. I m your alpha, you must listen to me, he growled more animalistic this time. You re not my
Alpha yet. Blake commented a small smirk on his lips. You will not disrespect me! Cameron growled
George Orwell s Ordinary People
George Orwell was born to an economically fragile government employed family who wanted him
to have an upper middle class upbringing. At a younger age he was seldom exposed to anyone
below his social class. During the writing process of his works The Road to Wigan Pier and Down
and Out in Paris and London he met what he labeled as ordinary people. Orwell defined ordinary
people as people who were not overindulged with material goods, had ordinary working jobs, had a
minimal education, and wont achieve success or greatness. He admired these people as despite their
circumstance they still worked, loved, cared, had children and had fun just like normal unordinary
people like himself. Additionally, he found the lack of prudishness and hypocrisy
Essay on New technologies dismiss social relationships
In this fast changing world, new technologies have become essential in societies and have an impact
on everyone s life. This process of technologization has grown exponentially since the nineties and
the beginning of the Internet, which has significantly decreased boundaries of communication. Some
expert agreed that new technologies would make communication and exchange easier, and thus give
an incentive to communicate with other people. However, those change have caused communication
to change and people have totally change their way to communicate. Ever since people have become
increasingly dependent on those technologies because they only see their advantages and
convenience for everyday life. New technologies dismiss social... Show more content on

This process has changed a lot over centuries; people do not communicate the same ways. The
Internet access is a good indicator of this change because it allows people to communicate in many
different ways such as social networks, email, or video calls (Skype). According to the INSEE, the
number of French households with an access to the Internet grew from 12 % to 64 % in ten years.

The first reason why new technologies dismiss social relationships is because more technologies
mean less face to face and therefore less communication. Most of digital technologies such as the
Internet, cellphones, television, and video games feature screens, which people use to
communicate. According to Krystel Tong s presentation, 57 per cent of people are more likely to
communicate online rather than by face to face. However, tone and body language are key points
of communication, therefore this lack of face to face communication can lead to
misunderstandings. According the BBC news, for some people this lack of interaction also creates
a feeling of isolation. A survey done by researchers from University of Michigan showed that the
more people use Facebook the more they feel lonely and deserted. For some other people, new
technologies can contribute to people acting violently. As Leo Kelion reported, in August 2013,
Hannah Smith, a British teenager aged 14 killed herself after being persecuted for months on the
social network, ask.com.
The Cost Of Public Transportation In The United States
Amongst the many choices we have to make today, we also must make a decision on how we will
get from point A to point B utilizing public transportation or our own vehicles. Public transportation
generally includes busses or trams for getting around town, and many large cities have commuter
trains. While there are other forms of transportation such as taxis and for hire cars such as Uber, they
can only move much smaller groups of people at a time. Public transportation in the United States
and other developed countries is relatively safe, but recent issues regarding accidents is also taken
into consideration. Some things to consider are comfort and convenience, cost, and environmental
effects.
Both options create jobs for other people; be ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These vehicles are environmentally friendly. If everyone used their own cars, there would be a
traffic worse than the congestion we typically experience. There will be a decrease in fumes and
traffic which also means less pollution. Therefore, it will be less dangerous for global warming.
To sum it up, having a car is a very useful vehicle that offers many advantages. Public transportation
has high capacity, saves energy and its cheap, but is less comfortable and less expensive. Public
transit is more convenient for some people for many reasons. Using private cars is somewhat
expensive and produces more pollution on atmosphere than public transport. All in all, public
transport is known to be more efficient and cheaper than private cars. Whichever form of
transportation is chosen, it really depends on the person, their likes and dislikes and what they think
is most affordable to
German Tanks During World War 2
Introduction
During World War II, Nazi Germany developed numerous tank designs, each with varying levels of
success. Out of these designs, the Panzer IV, Tiger I, and Tiger II tanks proved to be the most
effective tanks produced by Nazi Germany. This impressive battle record is shown through the
performances of the tanks themselves as well as the German implementation and tactics involved in
using their armored divisions. The potency of their designs is shown through the analysis of their
specifications and performances during multiple battles. In addition to the characteristics of their
designs and their successes in the battlefield, these tanks were also effective due to tactical
innovation. German armored divisions during World War II proved ... Show more content on

Unlike the Panzer III, the Panzer IV was initially designed as an infantry support tank, not to
combat enemy tanks. However, with the inadequacy of the Panzer III against Soviet T 34 tanks
becoming more noticeable, the Panzer IV quickly adopted the function of its increasingly
susceptible relative. Soon becoming the most widely manufactured and distributed German tank of
the war, the Panzer IV saw action in all combat theatres regarding Germany and was the only
German tank to remain in continuous production throughout World War II. In the Eastern Front, an
especially influential upgrade of the Panzer IV s main armament was an enhancement from the
original 75mm gun to a much longer, higher velocity 75mm gun. This allowed the Panzer IV to
overcome its greatest rival, the Russian T 34 tank, with extreme ease. Able to destroy a T 34 at any
range up to 1,200 meters from any angle, this barrel upgrade transformed the Panzer IV from a close
support tank to the best main battle tank of the
Borderlands By Gloria Anzaldúa
As human beings we tend to classify others by classifying ourselves (Eide 74 ). Nothing wrong
with that per se, if not for using problematic criteria, such as race, skin color, gender, sexual
orientation, class, religion, or ethnicity, in an often negative and derogatory way. As soon as
individuals or groups are considering themselves superior, they inherently impose inferiority upon
others, and discrimination and bigotry is born. Equality is still far from being common practice.
A large part of the problem is ignorance; ignorance about other cultures, religions, gender range,
ethnicity and many other characteristics. In her book Borderlands: La Frontera, Gloria Anzaldúa
describes how she has hopes for a new humanity, not inhibited by race or gender or any other
social, political or ethical label; a hybrid form, an epitome of all possible confluences: a cosmic
race, with a rich gene pool and a new consciousness (100 102). She believes this can be realized by
uprooting all dualistic thinking and teaching tolerance and openness from a very young age: nothing
is thrust out, the good, the bad and the ugly, nothing rejected, nothing abandoned (Anzaldúa 101) .
She uses the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
But, as with all resources, it might give rise to exactly the opposite of what is was meant for. It
can isolate the cause it stands for, thereby making the chasm between it and others even larger,
instead of bringing them closer together. It is a tool, nothing more: it can come in handy, but has
no secondary agenda, and is to be used very carefully. Anzaldúa s concept of a new consciousness,
though beautiful and achievable, will need time and willingness to cooperate. And within that
framework people should accept the fact that they can, themselves, be part of the problem and make
an effort to help solve it. In a way Anzaldua s vision has already been in operation for thousands and

Madison started menstruation that same evening. Even under her abnormal conditions, Madison s

European Union s Scientific Committee on Veterinary Measures Relating to Public Health
(SCVPH), have broken down steroids into two main categories, natural and synthetic, with three
types for each category. Feedlots generally use three natural steroids which include estradiol,
testosterone, and progesterone, and three synthetic or mad man steroids which are estrogen
compound zeranol, androgen trenbolone acetate, and progestin melengestrol acetate. These steroids
can be administered to the cattle through pellets. Manitoba Agriculture, Food, and Rural Initiatives
states, pellets are injections given to cattle by inserting a needle into the middle third of the
backside of the ear. Since the ear of the cattle is merely tossed away in the slaughtering process,
then this method of the delivering the steroids should be benign. Manitoba Agriculture, Food, and
Rural Initiatives likewise add, Improper use of pellets can cause higher levels of hormones to be left
in the edible meats. In addition, illicit use and administration of these steroids can harm not only the
beef cattle but humans as well.

Grit Is What Separates Fruitful Lives From Aimlessness
The Christian author, John Ortberg once stated, Over time, grit is what separates fruitful lives from
aimlessness (Ortberg). This powerful statement is a very popular belief, that grit is a defining
characteristic in our lives. How we go about developing this trait on the other hand is hotly debated.
On one side there are, as I call them the critics. They believe that grit is a hereditary traitthat cannot
be developed in a schoolenvironment. Moreover, they believe that if it were to be attempted to be
taught, that the consequences would have terrible repercussions on our society. On the other side
there are the optimists. They have confidence that grit can be taught, but not quite in the way we
first expected. Of course, they also reason that teaching grit has a lifelong positive effect on our
society. To be honest I believe that grit can and should be taught in schools. The new and promising
evidence of its teaching and results cannot be ignored. It overwhelms the older critical beliefs. In the
end though, one must determine for themselves what is right.
Many have decided for themselves that grit cannot be taught in a school setting. One of their main
issues with attempting to teach grit is that there still isn t a standardized form of teaching this trait.
There have been many theories and propositions, but it seems that each strategy is incomplete in
some way. Their theory, as stated by the author, Toby Young, is that, character traits are inherited, not
taught
A Research Study On Psychological Research
Psychological Research can range from being simple to very complex. Psychological research deals
with the research that psychologist have conducted to research and analyze the behavior of
individuals. When conducting these researches there are special guidelines which need to be taken.
If the researcher fails to meet these guidelines the researchmay be classified as unethical. When
conducting psychological research there are many important ethnical guidelines which need to be
followed. The researcher should inform consent. It is not enough for researchers to get a yes or no
from their participants; the participants need to know exactly what they are agreeing to. Before
beginning research, the researcher must make sure they outline what exactly the research is about,
and ask their consent before the research begins. Individuals who are 18 older are able to give their
own consent, but if the participant is younger than 18 they must have the consent of a parent or
legal involves observing individuals at a basketball game, each person does not need consent
because guardian to allow their child to participate. In rare cases, inform consent may not be needed
but this is only allowed if what is happening could happen to the participant in everyday life. For
example, if the research conducted anyone could observe them while they are at the game. Consent
forms must have an information sheet attached for participants. This information sheet will explain

American Culture Vs Mexican Culture Analysis
An immigrant s culture and beliefs take a shift, sometimes going extinct, or they evolve to include
elements from both countries; where they grew up, and where they ll grow old. Transculturation is
key in order to fit into a new society, those who do it well have a smoother time transitioning. For
example the Hmong and Mexicans both had to flee their country, but the Mexicans found it easier to
transition to the American culture than the Hmongs. The Hmongs never thought they would leave
their home in Laos, they were happy and thriving on their lands. Unfortunately war struck and the
Hmong agreed to help the US fight back, due to their involvement in the war, they were seen as
traders, therefore they were persecuted by the Vietnamese. Due to this the Hmong people suffered in

People viewed them as ignorant, and delusional, due to their lack of knowledge of the American
lifestyle. Many found it irritating the little desire the Hmong had towards the American culture.
American people became extremely intolerant of the Hmong for a period of time, In Providence,
children walking home from school were beaten. In Missoula, teenagers were stoned. In Milwaukee,
garden plots were vandalized and a car was set on fire. In Philadelphia, anti Hmong muggings,
robberies, beatings, stonings, and vandalism were so commonplace during the early eighties that the
city s Commission on Human Relations held public hearings to investigate the violence ( Fadiman,
Anne, Pg 192). What appeared to be normal to the Hmong, often seemed strange to non hmong
which caused cultural tension between Hmong and non Hmong people. The more the tension build
between these two groups the bigger the culture gap developed. Due to the culture gap each group
refrained from mixing with the other, making them more prideful, and resentful of one
Sharecropping After Civil War
After the Civil War the Unite States dealt with the after math of rebuilding the country. The
Reconstruction, which was from 1865 to 1877, was the period in which the country attempted to
reunite the South and North. The conditions of the North and South were different because of many
things, especially there economic stands. The North during this time depended on factories and
other modern companies as their main source of wealth. The South was more dependent on farming
and agriculture. Before the Civil War, the South was extremely dependent on farming which was
worked by the slaves. However after the passing of the 13th Amendment which outlawed any forms
of slavery, the South had to somehow maintain a source of income without slaves. Since much of
the South didn t have enough resources to create factories, just like those in the North, the
plantation owners relied on new methods of farming. Sharecropping was the most popular
technique used by plantation owners. This meant plantation owners would lend land to people and
they would receive some of the crops yield. Since poor white people were in need of land, most
sharecroppers were in fact white. Since many southern plantation owner wanted to keep slavery
methods, they would take an excessive amount of yield, especially white black sharecroppers.

Railroads were a major part of Northern and even Southern economies. Railroads, which were
expanded on 1860, were used to transport crop productions from the south the North. Cotton,
Indigo, tobacco, corn and more were sold to Northern markets. Since the South weren t fully ready
or capable to imitate a Northern way of income, they heavily relied on this way of income. In the
North, Chicago was seen as the railroad capital. Most goods were sent through this city and Chicago
became extremely wealthy later on in
Millions of people around the globe immigrate into...
Millions of people around the globe immigrate into different countries every year. For some
people, moving to a new place can be about taking on a different career opportunity, following a
love interest, or reuniting with family. While for others, immigration is necessary to survive. It is
not a simple choice, but rather a struggle to escape the horrors in their own country. There are
numerous nations that welcome immigrants and refugees with open arms, but many do not.
Picking up your life and traveling to a new country is hard even in the most accepting of places.

While these regulations were eventually lessened by the following Prime Minister, the events led to
an increase in French nationalism among the natives and new assimilation policies. In 2003, the
French government made an attempt to integrate the immigrants by requiring them to sign a contract
when entering the country. By signing the contract, immigrants agree to undergo language training
and instruction on the values of French society, (Zappi). If they passed, they received a ten year
permit, but if they failed then they only got a one year permit. Essentially, the French were trying to
protect their home culture by forcing the immigrants to let go of their native cultures and become
more French. When immigrating to a new country, there are many stages of acculturation that a
person must go through. At first everything is wonderful and amazing, but soon, homesickness and
longing for the home culture sets in. The attitudes and mindsets of the host culture can play a huge
role in whether person acculturates successfully or slips into culture shock. If you are able to make
friends in your host culture who can help you assimilate, then you are more likely to be happy in
your new home. However, in France, many people are unfriendly to foreigners and very unwilling to
help them. For Americans, when going into a French restaurant, even though the waiter may know

How Baseball Changed My Life
I have been lucky enough to not have many major conflicts or negative circumstances in my life.
As I have gotten older, however, I have had to make changes in my life and make decisions based on
what I want to do in the future. The biggest change in my life came recently, with what I hoped
would be a sports career. I have played sports, it seems, all of my life. I played three at a time when I
was very young. Eventually, I decided on playing just one sport, baseball. Baseball has always held a
special place in my life and it is my favorite sport. Some of my earliest memories are of hitting a
baseball in my backyard. I have played competitive baseball for most of my life, traveling to places
around the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex and out of the state to... Show more content on

I have followed this, as a rule, keeping my grades high and then playing sports. When it was time to
start thinking about my future, baseball seemed to fall to the wayside. As my junior year of high
school approached, I felt that my chances of making it into college for baseball were very low, as it
is an extremely competitive college sport. The top schools in the country recruit the best. I was
good, but I did not feel as though I could have continued any further in baseball beyond high
school. My future lay in academia. So, I decided to stop playing. It was a drastic change for me. I
hadn t known a life without baseball before and I had to convince my dad that I was ready to
make this decision. I found myself with more free time that I knew what to do with. I negotiated
with my dad and found an academic alternative to satisfy his concerns and fill my abundance of
time. My new academic endeavor was found in competing to become part of the NASA HAS
Aerospace Scholars program. Being successful in this new type of competitive event convinced my
father that I had made the right decision and it is something I am quite proud
