Social Networks
Social Networking Sites The Internet and technology are growing bigger and bigger every day
and before we know it technology is going to pass us by. With the invention of the Internet and
Social Networks, the possibilities are endless. Social networking sites provide us the opportunity
to explore the whole world, make friends, and share moments with the rest of the world through
the Internet. Everyday more and more people become part of the different social networking sites
available now, like Facebook or Twitter. The use of social networking sites is changing our society
and the way people do and see things. Certainly, social networking sites have had great impacts in
people s lives and society. One great impact that social networking... Show more content on

Even though social networking sites allows people to interact and be friends with an infinite
number of people, how many of those people can be considered as real friend or friends you can
count on in the real world. A good benefit social networking sites offer is that they allow people to
stay in touch with friends and family who live far away. Before social networking sites were
created people did not have the privilege stay in contact with friends or family who live in a
different city or country. People now have the privilege of sharing pictures, videos, sending
messages and even instant chatting with their families and friends they are not able to see so
often. Thanks to the introduction of these sites people now have easy access to the lives of their
family and friends from far away. Losing touch with old friends or distant family members is less
likely to happen when they see their faces and updates every day on their social network. Also,
this could be used as an advantage for parents to communicate with their kids who are off to
college or travel somewhere. The truth is that social networking has become part of people s lives.
People can use them to their advantage or get carried away by the bad effects of these sites. People
need to pay more attention to what is
All-Kinds-Of-Fur
Fashion, Incest, and Fur, in All Kinds of Fur and Donkeyskin Donkeyskin, by Charles Perrault,
and All Kinds of Fur by Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm, are both stories about a princess who runs
away from her kingdom because of the king s desire to marry her, despite the fact that the
marriage would be incestuous. In Donkeyskin, the king is overtly powerful and wealthy, and
much of his wealth is obtained by his Master Donkey, who excretes gold. In both tales it is
necessary for the princess to find some means of discouraging her father s sinful proposal, of which
she asks for three magnificent and impossible dresses to be made and for the skin of an animal or
multiple animals. The princess requests in both tales, however, are futile, because... Show more

The princesses having, or not having, outside assistance in their journeys makes their character
act and think differently. The princess in Donkeyskin, though being the optimal choice of a bride
for the king for being wise and accomplished, is not as overtly clever and wise as the princess in
All Kinds of Fur. The princess, referred to as All Kinds of Fur, is solely responsible for her
choices and actions, coming only from her own savvy brain. Horrified by her father s incestuous
demands, All Fur seeks her own counsel. (Marshall 409). Firstly she contrives the seemingly
impossible tasks that she sets upon her father, including having him obtain one dress golden as
the sun, one as silvery as the moon, and one as bright as the stars (Grimm, All Kinds of Fur ) and
a mantle of a thousand different kinds of fur and hair (Grimm, All Kinds of Fur ). Secondly, All
Kinds of Fur makes, and acts upon, the decision to run away, disguised by her mantle of furs,
before having to marry her father. Thirdly, All Kinds of Fur cooks up the idea to place three of
her golden trinkets, a ring, a spinning wheel, and a reel, into the three cakes she is told to make for
the king, and by this action she catches the attention of the king. The princess, referred to as
Donkeyskin, however, is clearly the definition of a damsel in distress. Not only does Donkeyskin
run for help to her
Surveillance In George Orwell s 1984
As its 70th anniversary approaches, we can still say that 1984 lives on in terror. Kristian lee
investigates the concept of surveillance from Orwell s, 1984, and its relevance to contemporary
society 67 years on. It has been over 60 years since George Orwell s post WWII dystopian novel,
1984, made its shocking debut. The novel conceptualises the idea of a grey future with fascist
governments, ongoing war and complete surveillance of every being. One concept in 1984,
Illustrates a government that has complete surveillance over anyone and anything. 1984 s
representation of surveillance and privacy can still be linked to contemporary society in a matter of
instances. One of these instances is the current issue of drones and the current laws
How Technology Is What Propels Our Innovative Society Forward
Moving with the Changes How did this paper fall into your hand? Speaking on a literal level, a lot
of work happened for this paper to come into a material item that is now something anybody can
read. First, an inventor thought up and created this paper. Which was then typed on a computer
which itself went through years of development, blueprinting, designing, and many other
complicated processes. After hours of revision this paper was printed on a printer that was also
developed and designed to do its job efficiently. Things do not pop out of thin air, they take
development which can sometimes involve a long, tedious process. Just like the development of this
essay did not happen overnight nor come easy, technologydoes not either. Though chaotic, the
development and progress of technology is what propels our innovative society forward. When
new technology is first introduced an array of opinions from all perspectives come spewing out.
Right now this is being experienced with the release of the new iPhone 7. Apple has been noted
in the past for getting rid of specs to gadgets that aren t necessary to make way for new and
improved technology. Laptops have evolved on lacking the CD disk slot to make way for
slimmer, less bulky laptops and more room for better technology inside the hardware. This time
around, Apple is dropping the headphone jack in efforts to move towards a new, wireless era. As
product of this, Apple has also created new, wireless Air Buds which are
Leadership And Change Leadership Development
Introduction
As defined by Katzenbach (1995), change leadership is the process whereby individuals who lead
initiatives that influence dozens to hundreds of others to perform differently and better by applying
multiple leadership and change approaches. Leadership alone is defined as setting a direction and
developing the strategies necessary to move in that direction that is, creating and achieving a vision
leadership is thus a process to do with change (Kotter 1999). Change leadership is critically important
to the continuing success of organizations everywhere. Tennant Company understands and invests in
change leadership by employing a Sr. Organization Development Manager named Annelise Larson,
M.B.A. whose efforts includes setting direction, developing strategies, and leading initiatives
through organizational change efforts. An interview was conducted with Annelise Larson to discuss
and learn about her change leadership abilities. For the purposes of this paper, the interview
questions will be shared, a summary will be provided, and five recommendations are made for
Annelise Larson as a change leader.
Change Leader Introduction and Interview Annelise Larson is a passionate Organization
Development (OD) professional who obtained her Master of Business Administration degree from
Saint Thomas University in 2011 (A. Larson, personal communication, October 8, 2014). She has
been employed by Tennant Company, a global manufacturer of industrial and commercial
Democratic Peace Theory
Intro: US Presidents have made it a goal during their term(s) in office to establish a good relationship
with foreign countries and even try to improve upon existing connections with our allies. Some
believe it is to prevent conflicts between the countries while others dispute that it is a threat
assessment by the United Statesto pick and choose their friends and enemies. Preventing conflict
between two democracies or countries that practice democracyis called Democratic Peace Theory.
However, research has begun to show that Democratic Peace Theory is ineffective and needs to be
brought to an end as a model for how international relations are formed or destroyed. Democratic
Peace Theory needs to be abolished as a support for forming... Show more content on

Gleditsch asks the question if democracies really do keep the peace and he found out that they try to
but also sometimes have problems within their own house (Gleditsch 289). This could explain why
rebellions within a country usually win because the government is torn if they should quiet the
rebellion or concede because they do not want to be thrown out of office.
Shouldn t leave the football with a passionate fan: Democratic Peace Theory cannot work as a
solution for unsuccessful talks when it comes to foreign policy because when deciding if
democracies should go to war with one another, having the citizens decide is bad because the
average person does not think rationally, they think emotionally which leads to more problems.
Take the Cold War of the United States against the USSR as an example of how emotions almost
destroyed two nations. People were spying on their own family members out of fear of being
branded a communist and the fear of nuclear annihilation was ever present danger that children
were doing drills in case of nuclear fallout. Had it not been for Gorbachev assuming power in
Russia and letting his people see what freedom was about through his policies, we would not be
here today. Mr. Layne, author of Kant or Can t, furthers the point by stating that Democracies behave
differently against non democracies (Layne 4). Democratic Peace Theory cannot be a solution to
resolve foreign
Critical Analysis Of Some Lessons From The Assembly Line
Has the author s goal changed with this analytical reading of the text? If so, how? If not, why not?

oAs I reevaluate the article Some Lessons From the Assembly Line by Andrew Braaksma (2005),
I come to the same conclusions, and overall notes. I notice again, that transitions in life are never
easy, going from an assembly line, punching the clock, and then back to college life. I also took
the feeling that the Author s college life was quite lax in comparison to hit summer work life.
Other points I came across again was a lack of security within that field, not paying attention to
repetitive tasks can cause injury, and the value of an education. I can relate to the value to an
education, as it allows you to get into the door to vet one s abilities. Without education, experience
can land you in the same position. However, at the Author junction in life, many would not have the
experience to be able to obtain secure employment, and with that I felt lucky to have been able to
have obtained the experience in the service. With that, I value an education, and am now perusing
that to achieve higher goals. Additionally, I don t want to ever be in a dying field, that could
disappear, or become outsourced.

2. Have you identified new key points that the author uses to try to achieve his or her goal in the
selected article? If so, include them here. If not, explain why the key points from your Writing Notes
have remained the same, even after conducting an active reading of
Family Planning
Introduction
Family planning is the planning of when to have children, and the use of birth control and other
techniques to implement such plans. Other techniques commonly used include sexuality education,
prevention and management of sexually transmitted infections, pre conception counseling and
management, and infertility management.
Family planning is sometimes used in the wrong way also as a synonym for the use of birth control,
though it often includes more. It is most usually applied to a female male couple who wish to limit
the number of children they have and/or to control the timing of pregnancy (also known as spacing
children). Family planning may encompass sterilization, as well as abortion.

The Catholic Church teaches the necessity of responsible parenthood and correct family planning
(one child at a time depending on one s circumstances), while at the same time teaching that large
families are a sign of God s blessings. It teaches that modern natural family planning, a method of
fertility awareness, is in accord with God s design, as couples give themselves to each other as they
are. The RH bill intends to help couples to have government funded access to artificial contraception
methods as well.

Family planning includes all methods of birth control, from the pill to condoms, Intrauterine Devices
(IUD), injectable hormonal contraceptives, and diaphragms, caps and spermicides. Depending on the

such as abortion and emergency contraception. Family planning may also refer to surgical
sterilization methods, including vasectomies and tubal ligation; and to non surgical methods of

To Pin A Butterfly Analysis
For my album review, I chose To Pimp a Butterfly by Kendrick Lamar. It was released in 2015 as the
follow up to his critically acclaimed debut studio album, Good Kid, M.A.A.D. City. The album
exhibits a more socially conscious style of rap than many other contemporary rappers. The album
deals with many heavy subject matters such as institutionalized racism, police brutality, colorism,
and commercialism. The album is heavily influenced by jazz and funk. It samples various artists
throughout the track list. King Kunta samples James Brown s The Payback and Ahmad s We Want
the Funk. Furthermore, artists involved in the Los Angeles jazz scene played instruments for the
various songs on the album. These artists include Thundercat and... Show more content on

Later, this poem is extrapolated on in the album s final track, Mortal Man. It turns out the poem
heard throughout the album is actually the intro to an even longer poem. The excerpt deals with
his rise to fame and the additional problems it brought. During the making of the album, he
evidently felt that he had been using his newfound fame for the wrong purposes. By mid poem,
he was in a hotel room contemplating suicide. At the end of the poem he rejects both suicide and
the appeal of Lucy, a reference to Lucifer. Lucy is referenced throughout the album and the way he
permeates through our culture through greed, lust, and pride. Certain songs on the album deal
with certain parts of the poem. For Sale in particular deals with the appeal of Lucy. The track u
chronicles the point in which he was in a hotel room contemplating suicide. Momma references
when Kendrick returns home to Compton. The final track, Mortal Man , ties the messages and
themes of the album together. After the initial song fades out, he reads the full poem that is read
throughout the album in excerpts. At the end he addresses it to Tupac. The song samples an
interview from when he was still alive in order to make it seem like Kendrick and Tupac are having
a conversation. At the end of the conversation Kendrick reads yet another poem entitled To Pimp a
Butterfly. It reads: The caterpillar is a prisoner to the streets that conceived
Class and Social Difference in Blood Brothers by Willy...
In the play Blood Brothers Willy Russell explores the differences between a working class family
and a middle class family during the downturn of industry in Liverpool in the 1960 and 70 s,
resulting in The Recession in the early 1980 s. There is a twist on the fact that they are just two
opposite class families Mickey and Edward. They are two genetically identical twins; however
Mickey was brought up in a working class family and Eddie in a middle classfamily. By using these
two complete extremes, Russell has explored the history of the British class system in a very
extreme way. Seeing the different class upbringings teaches us about Nature vs. Nurture in society.

Russell chooses to open Blood Brothers with a Narrator speaking a ... Show more content on

This obviously immediately gives us the impression that Edward is from a middle or upper class
family because he uses so much formal language, even when saying bad things. By using this
strong language in their first meeting it gives the audience a clear view of the extremes in the
classes. The audience can find the first meeting quite funny because the actors play the two
extremes in quite humorous ways. Initially this can make the difference in class seem quite a
light subject when really, as we find out later in the play, it is an enormously important subject. I
think Russell is positively biased towards Mickey in this first meeting of the boys, possibly
because Mickey is from a lower class family and so was Russell. I think Russell is biased because
Mickey is bragging for the small things he loves to play with. However, even though Edward
probably has more than Mickey he doesn t make a show of it. Russell has made this first meeting
a very bold statement, as the boy s don t seem to show a difference between each other in this first
scene, they seem like two, normal, seven year old friends even though the difference between the
two classes is very obvious. I think this helps to introduce the differences lightly to draw the
audience in, so that they are ready for the drama that comes, later on in the play.

As the boys grow older, their different classes become more significant to the play. Edward goes off

Maxine Hong Kingston Understanding Her Life through The Woman Warrior Maxine Hong
Kingston s The Woman Warrior is novel composed of myths and memoirs that have shaped her life.
Her mother s talk stories about her no name aunt, her own interpretation of Fa Mu Lan, the stories of
ghosts in doom rooms and American culture have been the basis of her learning. She learned morals,
truths, and principals that would be the basis of her individuality.

Since her mother s talk story was one of the major forces of her childhood and since she herself is
now talking story in writing this book, stories, factual and fictional, are an inherent part of Kingston s
autobiography. Finding one s voice in order to talk story, a metaphor for knowing ... Show more

Kingston wrote, The fear did not stop but permeated everywhere. She told the man, I think I m
pregnant. He organized the raid against her. Another major point Brave Orchid makes from the story
is not to let someone that is untrustworthy get the upper hand in a situation where they would have
the power to take advantage of her, to save themselves from shame and humiliation. She is trying to
make Kingston deal with honest people and make good friends through a rather frightening story of
humiliation and deceit.

In the re telling of the Fa Mu Lan myth, Kinston shows the strengths and warrior like abilities of her
character, rather than the weaknesses her mother scares her with, in the story of the No Name
Woman. When we Chinese girls listened to the adults talk story, we learned that we failed if we
grew up to be but wives or slaves. Fa Mu Lan helps her get out of the circle of the average
subservient Chinese woman and strive to be something better than a housewife or a slave. She gets
an abundance of inspiration from the heroine in the myth, pretending the hero is she. Kingston is
inspired to break the mold of the typical Chinese woman. From this myth she learns that it is ok to
be different, to be a Chinese American woman. She proves to herself that she can be whoever she

Race And Ethnicity From An Anglo American War Of 1846 And...
In the span of 50 years a lot can change especially when a power struggle began brewing between
land hungry President James Polk of the United States and recently independent Mexico. California
began its transition from the dominance of Spanish powered Missions to independent Ranchos. In
Two Years Before the Mast Richard Henry Dana Jr explores the issue of race and ethnicity from an
Anglo perspective in newly opened for trade to foreigners California. From the PBS website, one is
able to learn about the Mexican American War of 1846 and the effects it had on the history of the
United Statesand Mexico. Looking deeper into this topic one is able to discover Michael C. White
s testimony as a Mexican citizen of Anglo descent fighting for the United States. An important
document that changed the course of history was the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo. This
document was an agreement between Mexico and the United States and whose certain provisions
were then violated by the latter country. According to the Pio Pico official website, he was a
victim of such practices as he went from being a prominent figure in society to dying a poor man.
A few years after these events, according to the article Crime and Punishment: Los Angeles County,
1850 1856, crimes emerged against the now minorities. The 19th century proved to be a timeframe
of big change for Los Angeles. It saw the rise and fall of Mexican power and the social, political and
economic changes that came with these events. Race and
