Should The Federal Government Continue Funding Planned...
Should the Federal Government continue funding Planned Parenthood? Planned Parenthood is an
organization that has been around since at least 1921. Recently, it has been in the limelight due to
the on going Presidential debates leading up to the 2016 election. It appears that the Republicans
want to take away all federal funding to shut down the clinics where as the democrats believe that
the republicans are misguided in their claims. The Planned Parenthood Federation of America is a
non profit organization, funded by the Federal Government, in which it provides reproductive
/maternal health services among the United States as well as internationally, since 1952. In recent
news developments, there have been rumors that Planned Parenthood practices inhumane
procedures when aborting an unborn baby to harvest their organs and that a law should be passed
to stop this. The supporters for Planned Parenthood claim that these claims are unfounded and
believe that Planned Parenthood is a wonderful association that helps women and men all around
the world. This issue has caused a series of debates that have been going on for years, but Planned
Parenthood still lives on. This current debate whether Planned Parenthood should be funded by the
Federal Government is a hot issue in the current election. It has become, not only a nationwide
issue, but also worldwide where people from all around the world are able to put in their input on
the argument. There are many people who
Heraclitus And Parmenides Research Paper
The thinkers of the sixth and fifth centuries B.C.E. in Greece are known today as the pre Socratic
philosophers. All the pre Socratic thinkers had a common goal, a goal in which to create a theory
of the cosmos. Kosmos is the Greek word for world. The thinkers were able to create these
theories using observation and reason. Two philosophers of this time with very different theses
were Heraclitus and Parmenides. Heraclitus believed change is the key feature of reality, whereas
Parmenides believed nothing ever changes and that motion is an illusion. Parmenides theory was
defended by Zeno, another pre Socratic philosopher. Which position is more sound? Heraclitus was
a philosopher from Ephesus in the century 470 B.C.E. One of his most famous sayings is There is
an exchange of all things for fire and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In this statement, Heraclitus is reducing all things to one element, fire. Fire is this thing that is
there and is not there. The image of it is used in a figurative sense, the form of it is stable and in
the flames, everything changes. Another one of his sayings is You cannot step in the same river
twice (Palmer, 30). By saying this, Heraclitus is implying that water is constantly flowing, making
it almost impossible to be in the same water more than one time. This never stopping flow of water
again reiterates his point that there is always change. The examples of fire and water are just two
ways to demonstrate change. Another more complex way of looking at change is life and the
transition from childhood to adulthood. In the transition to adulthood, childhood is lost along with
friends. The friends one has in elementary school may differ when they transition to middle school
and high school. Similarly, as they go off to college, being that they know no one, they are forced to
make new friends. Then, because there is
It s Time To End Racism
As Reverend Dr. Martin Luther, King. Jr. showed us in his life s work to end racism, we can act
to bring people of all races together as we peacefully demonstrate a love for humanity. Three
actions we can take to end the violence of racism are taking stands, the danger of the single story,
and All men are created equal. Through these actions, we can respond to and eradicate racism
through a peaceful stand for the love of humanity. Racism is all over the world and it is a horrible
thing. We all can help by taking stands. There are many different ways to take stands one way is
writing. Writing alone can make a big difference in today s society because it can persuade some
people that we are all created with an equal purpose. Another action... Show more content on

Many people go around thinking that this story is true but what if it is not, what if it is the
complete opposite of what that person thinks. An example of what I am saying is people think
African Americans have to be poor or homeless, which in some cases isn t true; people aren t like
the stories. As humans, we only focus on one story. Once we hear a story we automatically think it
s true; therefore, we can t get that one untrue story out of our head. As Chimamanda Adichie said,
Once people realize the story isn t true they feel ashamed. Our life is composed of overlapping
stories from many different people, most of the stories are fiction. The quote All men are created
equal is a very true statement. This quote means we are all the same, black, white, Asian whatever the
race may be we are all the same. We are all created for the same reason. No matter what we look
like. How are we equal you might ask. We are all equal because we all have the same rights, we
can all pursuit emotions, and we all have liberty. Each of us should be treated with respect and
dignity. We should treat others as we wish to be treated. Those three actions taking stands, the
danger of a single story, and All men are created equal can eradicate racism through a peaceful stand

Essay on William the Conqueror
William I became known as William the Conqueror through his will and determination. William
gained power through his father and soon he climbed high enough to conquer England and
become its new king. William was born in 1028 at Falaise Castle. He was the son of Robert the
Duke of Normandy and Herleve, the daughter of a tanner in Falaise. Robert was said to have
caught sight of Herleve while she was washing her linens in the castle moat. William s father went
on a pilgrimage in 1034 to release his sins. While returning home from his journey, he died
suddenly. Having no other heir, William took his place as Duke of Normandy. William had a hard
time taking control. People constantly rebelled during his rule, and he would have to learn... Show

In the middle of September, England was invaded by Harold Hardrada, King of Norway. He was
accompanied by Tostig, Earl of Northumbria, Harold s unruly and discontented brother, who had
earlier been banished and his earldom confiscated Harold went north to meet the invaders at
Stamford Bridge in Yorkshire, where he won a victory over the Viking army. The winds William
had been waiting for turned favorable and he set sail with his massive army. News of his landing
at Pevensey was told to Harold, who responded by hurrying south to meet him, giving his
exhausted army no rest. If Harold had rested and reorganized his army, the outcome of the battle
and English history could have been very different. On the 14th of October, the Saxon and Norman
forces clashed in the Battle of Hastings. Harold took up a defensive position on Senlac Ridge. The
Norman army was forced to attack uphill, placing them at a disadvantage. A rumor arose in the
Norman ranks that William was dead, causing panic. Many of the Saxon fyrdd pursued the fleeing
Normans down the hill. William raised his armies morale by loudly announcing that he was still
alive. The Normans with new strength fought hard against the Saxons, Harold s brothers Gyrth and
Leofwine were both slain on the battlefield. The battle continued for most of the
Civil Disobedience And Civil Rights
Would you fight for what you believe in no matter the denouement? Would you go against the
odds, disobey society and the law to improve the lives of others? In the words of Oscar Wilde,
disobedience is a valuable human trait that leads to social progress. Disobedience results in
freedom, equality, and civil rights. To live your life without freedom is to live your life without
sunlight. Before 1776, colonists from England were in a chaotic situation they were irritated of
being controlled by King George III, they were irritated of his tyrannical ways. King George III,
King of England, taxed colonists on items they commonly used some included: ink, paper, tea, and
stamps. The king s unfair treatment of the colonists resulted in a rebellion... Show more content on

Today many of us can t because we are fortunate enough to be alive in a time and place where
racism isn t banal. Rosa parks, a civil rights activist, refused to give up her seat on a Montgomery
public bus to a white passenger in 1955. At the time this was illegal, African Americans were
forced to follow bus segregation rules, and they had to give up their seats to whites if they were
in the front of the bus and had to resort to the back. When Parks disobeyed the law she stood for
all the rights of blacks, she stood up for inequality, she stood up against racism. African Americans
along with other minorities faced discrimination, such as being harassed, publicly humiliated, and
being denied the same rights as other people just because they had a darker skin color. Rosa parks
along with many other civil rights activists fought for the future of African American s, their
ultimate goal was to eliminate the segregation of blacks and whites. Today no matter what race or
what color your skin is you have the same rights as anyone else. Maybe you would have been
lucky enough to have been treated fairly back then but remember not everyone was, remember the
hatred, remember the need for hope, and remember the fight civil rights activists fought. Rosa Parks
was a symbol of hope for many in the African American community. Think about it would people
have the courage to stand up for what they believe in if it weren t for
Pros And Cons Of Genetic Engineering
Technology seems to be the best option for humanity and everyday it is growing up exponentially;
consequently, experts try hard to do perfect experiments, so people will completely trust at new
methods involving technology. Genetic engineering has been a hard studied technology to work
with, in the medical field for scientists because they are experiencing with lives of living beings.
This technology plays an important role in sciencebecause it can modify or edit genes of animals,
plants and humans replacing them for new ones, fix any problem with them or just create a new
specimen. Should we worry about the new applications of this technology? For example, we can
see different races of dogs, cats and other animals that we didn t have, our supermarkets have
vegetables and fruit twice bigger size that some farm raised food, and also people with some
different characteristics from others, such as eye and skin color, taller or healthier people, etc.
According to a debate between Pam Ronald, an American plant pathologist and geneticist, and Erick
Vance, a science writer, genetic engineering has brought new improvements to several farms because
according to the World Health Organization, pesticides kill 200 to 1,000 Americans a year. In this
debate, they are arguing risks, cons and pros about this new technology, although to Ronald, Genetic
Engineering in the industry for production is going to increase sales of modified food and probably
and the world hungry.

Who Is The Protagonist In Othello
The fiery openness of Othello, magnanimous, artless, and credulous, boundless in his confidence,
ardent in his affection, inflexible in his resolution, and obdurate in his revenge3 (Johnson, 1795)
Indeed, the above statement is sufficient to synopses the character of Othello but It also plays the
vital role in observing the gradual drastic change in the personality of protagonist.
It has been observed that the personality of the protagonist Othello depicted in the first two acts of
the play was varied and different as compared to the rest of the acts. In the beginning of the play,
Shakespeare portrays his protagonist as the man of nation, an epic personality, who has immense
strength, gallantry, confidence, honor, gullibility, credulousness, ... Show more content on

The statement shows that he himself believes on justifying and giving a chance for justifying the
one s self.
Later on, the exceptional and boundless love and affection of Othello for his beloved Desdemona
is variedly scattered in the play, which become one of the major trait of Othello s personality. The
power and the strength of their love totally cultivated an armed man into a passionate lover. Othello
does not only love the physical appearance of Desdemona but he fall in love with the thoughts,
mind and the soul of her lady. As He said,
Vouch with me, heaven, I therefore it not to please the plate of my appetite nor to comply with heat,
the young affect in me defunct and proper satisfaction but to be free and bounteous to her mind
(Othello, Act1, scene3, p.21)
The love of Desdemona and Othello turned out to be more passionate and more intense that it
becomes unbearable for Othello to imagine his life without his fair lady. The passionate love could
be identified in above evidence when Othello asked the duke to permit him to go Cyprus with

Essay On Reptilian Conspiracy Theory
Even though the Reptilian conspiracy theory is just a myth that many believe is to be true but does
not have any factual evidence to support it, the reptilian conspiracy theory is not valid because there
are no photographs to document it and there is not any factual evidence to validate it.
You may be asking yourself what is this Reptilian conspiracy theory? The Reptilian conspiracy
theory claims that our world is controlled by shape shifting humanoid aliens that appear to be
reptiles. It is said that the human race is infiltrated by Reptilians and many of which are in power.
Several world leaders have been identified as Reptilian shape shifters such as, Barack Obama,
George W. Bush, and Queen Elizabeth II. It is believed that these Lizard People are in positions of
power in order to manipulate human affairs, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
With the talk that Reptilian aliens control our world then raises questions of what do they look
like. Technology has been evolving for many years as conspiracy theories have as well. There are
a lot of photoshopped images of what is claimed to be famous world leaders taking on the forms
of Reptilian shape shifters. Many images are altered to look real and convince the population that
this myth is true. There is not however any credible photographic proof that these alleged world
leaders are in fact shape shifters. There are a lot of softwares that can edit and create images that are
available to the public.
Some may argue that there are a lot of sources that have ample amounts of information convincing
us that these shape shifters are real. Unfortunately, a lot of websites are not monitored by credible
people. A lot of the images that we see are in fact edited to represent what people think is lizard
people . Typically, it s usually an image that is popular from the supposed leader and then
photoshopped to appear like the conspiracy theory
Homeland Security Agencies
The first essay question in the final assignment asks students to discuss the capabilities and
limitations of intelligence in supporting homeland security efforts. Intelligence matters have greatly
improved on this front compared to the way things used to be prior to the September 11th terror
attacks, but there are areas that still need to be addressed. The Department of Homeland Security has
also helped get information to the field by creating fusion cells, the (JCAT), and encouraging the use
of intelligence based policing. Intelligence sharing was one of the biggest obstacles the nation had
prior to the 9/11 attacks. Federal agencies, competing for budgetary funding, had no incentive to

Congress, in an attempt to address the shortfalls in our counterterrorism system, drafted the USA
PATRIOT Act. The law did close many policy gaps, but it also unintentionally infringed upon the
civil liberties of the very citizens it was designed to protect. The most contentious parts of the act
were the changes in search warrant procedures, unlimited access to records, and wiretap procedures.
The act allowed law enforcement and intelligence personnel to request sneak and peek warrants,
meaning that they were allowed to enter into a suspect s home without informing him/her that they
were being investigated. Intelligence personnel say this is needed to avoid alerting a terrorist cell s
members of an investigation, but critics claim that this process could also be used against non
terrorism suspects. The USA Freedom Act did not remove this controversial provision once it was
signed into law last
What Are The Foundations Of Government
The Foundations of U.S. Government The U.S. government was founded on three philosophies,
naturalism, classical republicanism and constitutionalism. John Locke s contractual theory of
government placed great value on the people s natural rights. Locke believed that people would
willingly complete their civil duties of [paying taxes and serving in the military, in return for the
government s protection and ear. People would do these things only if the government would listen
to and protect them. Locke believed that in a natural state, men protect and control their property, but
they are in a state of constant danger. When the people unite and form a government, their natural
rights of life, liberty and property are protected. Locke believed
Causes of 2003 Us Iraq War
Liberalism and Hegemonic Stability Theory
As Causes for the 2003 US Iraq War Many factors went into the decision of United States leaders
to enter into war with Iraq in 2003. These reasons can be related to various classical and modern
theories on the causes of war between states. Though there are several stances and viewpoints on
the righteousness or legality of the war on Iraq, an objective eye will notice that the real factors for
going to war are neither grounded in righteousness nor law. They involve the maintenance of peace
and power for those in control, in this case, the United States. The theories of Liberalism and
Hegemonic Stability Theory both sufficiently account for the United States main motivations for
entering war ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Should the liberal state accomplish its goal of helping to establish a liberal state in the foreign
country then it will be one condition closer to establishing a state of perpetual peace with that state
from that point on. The tensions that exist between liberal and non liberal states comes from the
idea that autocratic non republican states are much more likely to go to war over reasons that
would not spur a liberal state towards the same ends. Doyle states in his 1986 essay, Liberalism and
World Politics,
Liberal states have been attacked and threatened by non liberal states that do not exercise any special
restraint in their dealings with the liberal states. Authoritarian rulers both stimulate and respond to an
international political environment in which conflicts of prestige, interest, and pure fear of what
other states might do all lead states toward war, [Doyle 1986, 296].
Doyle explains that the fears and egos of non liberal rulers can easily lead them towards war.
These same fears and egos can be checked by a liberal republican state structure. Should a liberal
state notice this aggression and fear within a foreign state, and if the foreign state is becoming too
powerful and threatens its existence, then there may be cause for the liberal state to make a
preventive strike against the threatening non liberal nation. Preventive wars are commonly thought
of as a product of Hegemonic Stability Theory. Hegemonic Stability Theory

Abstract This paper presents unified power quality conditioner (UPQC) which is an integration of
shunt and series Active Power Filters and aims to compensate for voltage sag, voltage and current
unbalance and other power quality problems [1],[5],[6]. The UPQC helps to improve power
quality at the point of installation on power distribution system or industrial power system. This
paper deals with design of UPQC by considering a controller based on PQ theory. Reference signal
generation for shunt active filter is done by using PQ theory while for series dual PQ theory is
used [2], [3]. Reference signals are then applied to pulse generators. Pulse generation is carried out
by using hysteresis band controller for each filter. The validation of proposed scheme is carried out
by using Matlab/Simulink.
Index Terms Unified Power Quality Conditioner, Active Power Filter, hysteresis control, voltage and
current unbalance.

The Problem Of Weight Watchers
Introduction and Problem Statement
Weight Watchers has faced a number of issues in the past several years, many of which are
highlighted in the case study for this assignment. The company was able to reach a financial high
point earlier this decade in 2011 when it recorded a record breaking 1.8 billion in revenues.
However, the company s finances have slowly dwindled ever since then, culminating in losses for
seven straight quarters and low stock prices at the beginning of 2015. The core of the problems it
was facing were relatively straightforward. The weight loss industry was changing, and Weight
Watchers was having difficult changing along with it. Specifically, the company had troubles
modernizing its business model to account for the digital age as represented by increasing online
options for weight loss. This fact was compounded by the reality that there was greater competition,
including that from organizations whose primary business was to capitalize on digital technology to
attract customers. Technologies such as mobile devices, mobile applications, cloud computing, and
social media had made considerable strides in the way that people were monitoring and attempting to
lose weight. Weight Watchers, however, had had only marginal success using these technologies,
and faced the undesirable situation in which its methods were becoming rapidly outdated.
Financial Analysis: Vision/Mission
The vision of Weight Watchers has always been fairly basic in nature. The company
