Rate of Juvenile Offenses and the Juvenile Justice System
Palm Beach County, Fla. On May 26, 2000, 13 year old Nathaniel Brazill shot his teacher, Barry
Grunow, with a .25 caliber handgun in school. Palm Beach County prosecutors tried Brazill as an
adult for first degree murder. The jury found Brazill guilty of second degree murder and the judge
sentenced him to 28 years in an adult facility. After his release, Brazill will face two years of
house arrest and five years of probation. (Klug) Does this sentence appear too severe, or perhaps
too tolerant? Without understanding all of the specifics involved in the case, it may be harder to
conclude what would be the best thing to do with 13 year old Brazill. What exact details would an
individual need to know in order to judge him... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One of the main factors that cause the complexity is that with each approach come certain
doctrines on the differences between juveniles and adults; but more importantly, how these
dissimilarities should affect legal policies. It will be up to voters, legislators, and groups to
conclude what steps we will take to curb the growing tendency of juvenile misdeed and
aggression. Imagining juvenile delinquents as our own younger siblings, or possibly our own
children gone astray will help us to make the strong conclusions engaged in treating juvenile
delinquents. As school students, we are the next generation of voters, legislators, and public
leaders. In alignment for us to make the best conclusions for troubled adolescents we must be
acquainted of the numerous ways we can go about handling juvenile delinquents. Each method of
treatment is quite perplexed so we must take care to realize the issues to the fullest possible span.
To double check that juvenile delinquents are being treated fairly, we must make our conclusions
with as much concern for their well being as we can, as well as keeping in mind the best concerns
of humanity. As voters, we can start to form policies in the ways we see fit for battling juvenile
offenses and aggression. Perhaps some of our own preferred procedures for treating young kids are
echoed in the current outlooks of the public in the direction of
Water During Labour
The last few decades have seen a growing trend towards using water in many forms during labour
(Richmond, 2003). Existing research recognises the critical role played by warm water in
reducing pain and distress during the latent stage of labour (Mackey, 2001; Cluett Burns, 2009;
Jones, et al., 2012). There is also a custom of using cold water to wipe the brow of a labouring
woman to give a cooling effect and dowsing the perineum with warm or cold water to relief the
feeling of stinging as it stretches (Dahlen et al, 2009; Hastings Tolsma et al, 2007). Water birth is
seen by some as a natural, gentle way of the baby leaving uterus (Young Kruske, 2013). This is due
to the fact that all humans begin life enclosed in warm liquor and that... Show more content on

Water is at the present time a well known form of pain relief available to women in all stages of
labour (Richmond, 2003). With the majority of hospitals and midwifery led units offering the
choice of water for birth and companies willing to sell birth pools to women across the country
for use with home births, water birth is perceived by many to be easily accessible (The Royal
College of Midwives, 2012). The Care Quality Commission (CQC) has reported in their 2013
survey of maternity services, that 34% of women planned to have a water birth. One interesting
finding of the survey was that only 8% achieved this goal (CQC, 2013). Given the large gap between
the figures and the current practice in maternity care to promote informed choice in pregnancy and
encouraging women to plan their own care including where they will have their baby, the survey
has led the student author to explore the reasons why women did not achieve the birth they sought.
As shown in Table One, 4% of women were not told why they could not have their chosen pain
relief and it was documented that 14% were given other reasons, see Table One. However, when
reporting the findings they failed to breakdown the figures. This survey (Care Quality Commission,
2013) would have been more useful if they had
Analysis Of Upton Sinclair s The Jungle
The period between Reconstruction and World War I was a time of tremendous social, economic,
and cultural change in the United States. The end of the Civil War, the shrinking of the frontier, the
rise of immigration, and the rapid growth of industry that characterized this time period brought
many issues of race, class, and status to the forefront of politics. Many different opinions came to
light about what it means to be an American and the dynamic between the American individual and
American society. The differing answers to these questions created both divisions and unification of
political and social thought made apparent by the rise of new labor unions, political parties, and
schools of thought. Through careful analysis of historical... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Hewitt. Throughout his speech Hewitt uses a metaphor comparing the way the Brooklyn Bridge
was built to the way government should run but does not, and in the process he reveals a lot about
the individual s duty to society. Hewitt first demonstrates how the building of the Brooklyn Bridge
required the organization of all engineering knowledge, not just the work of one or a few men. This
compounding of knowledge upon itself and discovery allows human progress to grow exponentially
and was the mechanism of the industrial explosion of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. He
extends this same thinking to the way governments are run by asking why knowledge of
governments has not matched the growth of other areas of knowledge. His answer is that
governments are run by organizing the ignorance of society rather than its intelligence. Elected
officials are not educated enough on how to run society, yet people elect them anyways and
complain when they fail. The solution he poses to this problem really ties the duties of individuals
to society into his discussion. Instead of attempting to restrict suffrage, let us try to educate the
voters; instead of disbanding the parties, let each citizen within the party always vote, but never for
a man who is unfit to hold

Consensus Essay
Understanding consensus and its role in a business
As mentioned earlier in the introduction, consensus is a general agreement that is made within
different groups. Consensus is another word for consent, which means to give permission. It is part
of the process of decision making where everyone within the group has a say and agrees to support
a decision in the best interest of the business as a whole. Consensus builds a relationship within the
workforce and this helps them find a solution that meets the needs of the group and work together to
strategically make the best decision suited for the company.
Consensus can work in different surroundings, whether it is a small or a large business, or even in a
local community. The end goal is the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Agreement seeking: Consensus decision making is the process in which it seeks a general or a full
agreement. When an organisation agrees to use consensus they set themselves the target of

Just Married By Gary Thomas
Tom and Sara from the movie Just Married, had many marital struggles ranging from lies, not
consistently respecting each other, and most important of all, they both were married too soon.
Furthermore, before their wedding Sara had cheated on Tom and did not tell him prior to getting
married. And Tom lied about how their dog had died. In addition, they have personal problems
they needed to work on, such as, Tom and his major anger issues that result in arguing irrationally.
Sara went to her ex lovers friends house while out on her honeymoon, granted her husband went
out to watch a dodgers baseball game, however, that is no reason to do what Sara had done. In
relation to the speech by Gary Thomas, this couple needs a lot of work. For example, the physical...

The best advice one should give Tom and Sara is to respect one another, and not focus on a
worldly relationship understanding, which consists of sexual chemistry, romantic attraction and
relational compatibility just as Gary Thomas describes. Sexual chemistry is important, but for a
healthy relationship one should not rely on that to sustain a relationship. Sara and Tom at some
point did not even want to have sex because they were so sick of each other, even though they had
sex all the time before their honeymoon. Both spouses were selfish, and did not engage with each
other s lives. For example, Sara could have gone to see the game with Tom even though it was not
what she wanted to do. Tom could put his wife and her feelings before a baseball game. And what
had drawn the line by the end of their struggles
