Venue: Room 23M, Shaw House

Present: Robert Crawford, Vice-President & Cindy Chow, Director, Human Resource

1. Guidelines for staff

As staff are unhappy and uneasy about re-applying for jobs, because they don’t want to compete
with each other again, we all agreed that it is essential to produce a set of written guidelines. Also,
our management team communicates with the staff and clarifies the change with the Asia
entertainment mergers.

2. New management mistakes

 New Management is making some mistakes that it is not providing any help to staff to find
new jobs.
 The management has suggested that all staff must improve their English, but no financial
help has been offered towards the cost of English courses.
 The food in the staff restaurant is awful. The new manager’s Australia, she changed most of
the dishes. But staff must eat a lot of food that they are not used to. There are too many
dairy products and not enough fresh vegetables.
 Management wants an informal atmosphere, but staff does not want to use first names –
they are not used to it.
 The management team are trying to do things to fast – there is a new computer system staff
does not understand.

3. Practical action

 The management team should communicate with the Asia entertainment mergers to
remove the conflicts about the change.
 The management team should engage the mergers and through their involvement
understand their problems easily.
