American Dream And Anaerobic Digesters
Sixty thousand pounds of wet manure is produced each day by the five thousand cows that are
located on the George DeRuyter and Sons dairy farm in Outlook Washington (Bonneville). You
might be thinking that s a lot of crap , well you re right! The positive to all this crap is that
something can be done with it. Anaerobic Digestionis a biological method when microorganism
hydrolyze break down waste material when there is no oxygen present (American 1). Anaerobic
digesters can take animal wastes, such as cow manure, and through a process break the waste down
into organic molecules that can be further hydrolyzed and used as an energy source. If further steps
are taken such as, removing carbon dioxide, nitrogen and oxygen from the substance then... Show

In The World is Flat Freidman states that, a lot of new middle jobs will involve collaborating with
others or orchestrating collaboration within and between companies (285). These jobs are
needed in a globalized world because it is no longer one company completing every part of their
business. Companies are now plural meaning that there might be one for management, one for
research and design, one for marketing and one for security (Freidman 287). Each branch might
also be located in different parts of the world. Each company and employee needs to be able to
work with other counterparts effectively to have well run systems. Specifically with anaerobic
digesters dairy farms are going to have to work with science engineers, power companies, crop
growers and the community. There is another collaboration that can occur between dairy farms with
digesters, this is between these farms and businesses that process foods or waste treatment plants.
Colorado State University wrote that these collaborations can, be beneficial by both decreasing
waste solids content and increasing methane production capacity (Sharvelle 3). The collaboration
between the different companies allows more waste to be removed and clean energy production to
increase. This energy will have the same benefits that were listed previously, especially eliminating
Modern America
Modern America: The Different Part of Rome Is America the new Rome? This quote has been
making an appearance in many articles as of late, and people are digging deeper to figure out the
truth. Arguments have been made supporting either case, but really America is quite different. Many
of the things Americans have, the Romans could never have ever dreamed of creating. The three
differences between Ancient Romans and Modern Americans are the use of technology, government,
and social standings. Rome in all its long history never left the Iron Age, whereas America in its
short history has already leapt through the Industrial Age to the Information Age and the Biotech
Age. This quote from Cullen Murphy portrays the difference between advancements.... Show more

Technology is used differently for bigger and better ideas and objects. Government allows the people
to vote and have their desired candidate representing them. Social standings and equality have
allowed Modern Americans to move past the Ancient Romans and create a much more unified
country. These differences are what makes Modern America better than the Ancient Romans,
because guess who is still around. Modern Americans have made advancements from Ancient
Romans, but Modern Americans are still much more advanced technologically as well. So, Is

Examples Of Seasons In The Great Gatsby
Summer, Fall, Winter, Spring usually seasons would not mean much to a person. In the book
How To Read Literature Like A Professor, the author, Thomas.C Foster, explains how seasons
could be more than just a an indicator of the weather. Seasons of the year could tell many
characteristics of a character. During books the seasons could give an insight on the emotions of a
character, the age, or the time it may be taking place. In Fosters book he gives an example of just
how the seasons of the year could impact a book. Although many people may associate weatheror
holidays with the seasons authors make it very clear that seasons are more than this. In The Great
Gatsby, F.Scott Fitzgerald, the author, also includes the seasons to symbolize these things
throughout his book. First people... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Foster gives an example of a an poem and how the author uses the fall to winter to symbolize his age.
Shakespeare wrote a poem called Sonnet 73. In this poem a man is coming to the realization of
his age. The poem states That time of the year thou mayst in me behold, when yellow leaves,or
none, or few, do hang upon those boughs which shake against the cold: bare, ruined chords,
where late the sweet birds sang. The man is comparing his life to the falling leaves on the tree.
They both were so full of life, but now they are not. The leaves falling are is symbol of the man s
hair falling out. Foster says Shakespeare is really talking about, namely the speakers standing on the
edge of old age. Shakespeare in his
Citizen By Claudia Rankine Summary
The first chapter of Citizen by Claudia Rankine immediately caught my attention. It starts with a
line that anyone can relate to, when you are alone and too tired even to turn on any of your
devices (5). This line makes the reader dig through their memory to find a time when they felt these
two things, alone and tired. It immediately drew me in and allowed me to relate to the writer. The
story becomes Claudia s memories. However, through second person story telling the reader begins
to feel as though they are the ones experiencing these moments. This experience enhanced the story
by stirring up the things Claudia might have been feeling within the reader. The feelings from the
first story increase as the stories go on. I would describe these... Show more content on

It seems as if Claudia is hurt by this because she knows the only reason she is complimented is
because she let her cheat. Another thing that hurts is the so called compliment itself. It implies
that having features more like a black person wouldn t be a compliment at all. This is just one of
the many examples used in the first chapter of the people in Claudia s life that say or do offensive
things. It becomes clear to Claudia that these people are being subtly racist after the picture that
interrupts her words. This picture had a street named Jim Crow RD which brings my mind to the
Jim Crow laws during segregation (6). After this picture the language Claudia uses to describe
her next memory changes. She describes this memory as a memory that can send adrenaline to
the heart, dry out the tongue, and clog the lungs (7). She tells of a friend who would call her by
the name of her black housekeeper (7). Claudia admits to feeling hurt by this, but she isn t sure
why. She doesn t know if it s because she knows her friend thinks all black people look the same or,
because she was constantly being confused for someone else, by someone she believed she was close
Graffiti Vandalism Essay
During the 1970 s large cities began seeing the rise of spray paint vandalism. Often teenagers and
young adults that took to the streets at night armed with spray paint to leave their mark on the city.
This form of vandalism, dubbed graffiti from the Italian graffito meaning to scratch (Abel). Though
graffiti dates to ancient times it is still a large scale problem across the world. Graffiti has a
negative effect on the community in which it appears. This form of vandalism is not done to uplift
or beautify the community, like murals or art instillations, but rather to fulfill the selfish desires of
the artist. It is often an indicator of violence and a negligent community that results in lower property
values and higher crimerates.

There is an argument for the status of graffiti as an art form. In the point of view, graffiti has
nothing to do with the destruction of property or willingness to commit crimes, but with the want
and the need to create something new that everyone can see. Those who take this view regard
graffiti as an attempt to beautify or improve public spaces without first obtaining public approval
(Abel). Whilst it is true that graffiti is considered art, by nature of painting and creating, it is also
vandalism. Vandalism is a deliberate alteration of public or private property without the consent of
the owner of the property. Graffiti involves drawing, writing or marking on non personal property.
There is no defense for the destruction of property,
There are many ways graffiti is used: spreading hate, gang propaganda, or the perpetrators name or
ideas. Graffiti is used to spread hateful messages about race, religion, etc. It is also used to spread
gang propaganda. Marking the territory of specific gangs or highlighting their members, guns and
gang rivalries (Abel). Diverse types of gangs use this platform to support different thing. Often
among African American gangs, graffiti is important to gain respect and status among members; neo
Nazi and right wing gangs graffiti is used to spread their violent and hateful messages. (Ferrell)

Community College Student Borrowing Essay
When it comes to borrowing for higher education whether the funds come from family or student
loans its always an issue of is there enough money for expenses while attending college. There are
benefits of borrowing money while at the same time should you borrow. Students use loans for
various reasons, but for some loans are just a financial burden. This article is researched on twelve
students from a community college. All the students had taken out loans for school purposes as
well as personal purposes, but in all reality for school purposes. Here we have studies done on
different areas of borrowing such as the student s guidance of information on loans before attending
college. The students were asked how their experience was on getting information on the process of
borrowing before proceeding on to college and most were left misguided are unsure because of the
lack of information from school counselors or workshops. The way this article was written was a
gathering of information and interviewing students who had taken out loans while attending a
community college. There were various questions asked to the students that implied to loans. The
questions were to find out there experience and background on loans. The main purpose of this
article was to do a study on 12 community college students and understand the risk and rewards of
using personal loans. The students were asked questions regarding loans while attending college.
After the research study was done the
Frankenstein Monster Monologue
I am, to date, the only known survivor. Trust me, I ve been looking for this thing for a very long
time. It preys on anyone; age, gender, sexuality. None of that matters. So far, there has been no
way to connect the victims. Hell, not even blood types are a factor. That was the first thing I
ruled out. Seems complicated doesn t it? It really wasn t. My friend was a target too, his blood
type was A, while mine was B. But anyway, back to this thing that attacked me. If you could even
say that. It may appear to want to physically attack you, you know, the usual teeth, claws, giant
build. Instead, it gets in your head. Brings your greatest flaws or weaknesses to life. Thing is, only
you can see what s going on. No one around you notices a thing wrong. On the outside you appear
normal, carrying on with your day. In your head, it s a totally different story.... Show more content on

I m going to let the creature come after you. Perhaps you could be part of my study of the thing.
Would you die? Most likely. Remember, I did say I m the only survivor. I think there s a reason
for that. Someone has to put the creature in the books. That s what I ll call it. The Creature. Has a
nice ring to it, don t you think? Now, don t you start calling me crazy. I assure you, my dear, I am
completely sane. I just need another victim. One more and I m sure I could find some kind of
connection. And then, I would be able to stop The Creature before it could attack again! Wouldn t

Factors That Affect the Academic Performance of the...
Chapter 1
THE PROBLEM AND ITS BACKGROUND
Introduction Student s academic performance occupies a very important place in education as well
as in the learning process. So to have better classroom performance and lower drop out incidence,
many colleges require students to stay in school dormitories especially those students who live far
from school like Cavite, Tarlac, Laguna, Batangas etc. It is widely believed that living in campus
dormitory can acquire some benefits in their academic performance. Large universities provide a
number of academic services in dormitories such as tutoring and student organizations that
encourage an environment conducive to learning.

Super Senses Lab Report

Super Senses
Purpose:
The purpose of this lab is to tune your senses of sight and sound.
Introduction:
Sound is created when energy travels as waves of pressure through matter such as air, water, or even
solid materials. Virtually everything that vibrates can yield sound. When something oscillates it
pushes the particles around it, and those particles in turn push the air particles around them, moving
the pulse of the vibration in all directions from the source. Sight is created when light bounces off
an object, and refracted from the cornea and the lens and an image is focused on the retina.
Refraction is the bending of a wave when it enters a medium where its speed is different. The
refraction of light when ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Most noticeable was the humming of the interstate near my house. I also noticed the faint sound of
live music coming from bars close by. The music would fade in and out throughout the experiment.
The loudest sound I encountered was the exhaust of a Hemi V8 Dodge Charger that had started a
few houses down, which was a low grumble that I recognized from previous encounters. Most of
the sounds I heard were man made except for a few small gusts of wind that blew by.
While observing an unlit candle I recorded a smooth red texture, and that it was a cylinder in
shape. The candle had a blackened wick and an indention from previous use. After lighting the
candle I notice a cinnamon smell emitting from it. At first, when light the candle the flame itself
was smaller and then became a little larger and steadier with fewer flickers. After the flame
steadied a light smoke emerged out of the top of the flame, and then would fade out, then come
back a little stronger, then fade out again. The wax melted into a transparent red that pooled up at
the base of the wick. The flame produce more heat vertically than horizontally. The extinguished
candle produced a lot of
The Noble s Role In The French Revolution
Angry nobility and clergy in desperation, turned to other countries for intervention in the
Revolution. Supporters of the Revolution viewed this as a betrayal. In the beginning of the
Revolution, the fees that peasants had to pay to their lords were abolished by the National
Assembly. In addition, noble lands were stripped of their status as fiefs. The nobility lost their
special privileges (such as hunting, being allowed to carry around a sword, and special funeral
honors ), and were required to start paying the same taxes as everyone else in the country . In the
autumn of 1789, the National Assembly passed a decree that placed all the Church s property under
the control of the nation. On February 13, 1790, the National Assembly passed a... Show more

After the Royals were intercepted, other countries began to see that the King and Queen of
France were in danger. Holy Roman Emperor Leopold II was Marie Antoinette s brother. He was
displeased with the arrest of his sister. Furthermore, people who fled to avoid execution, known as
émigrés; in other countries were calling for an intervention in France. The rulers of Austria and
Prussia issued the Declaration of Pillnitz, which declared a readiness to use force to protect King
Louis XVI and Queen Marie Antoinette, in August 1791. Frederick William II of Prussia and
Leopold II of Austria sought allies to go against France on April 12, 1792. Consequently, France
decided to respond by declaring war on Austria and Prussia. Some of the revolutionaries supported
the war because they thought that it would unite France. The rest of Europe had been long since
disenchanted with the French Revolution and the declarations of war on Austria and Prussia only
further showed that the Revolution had gotten out of control. This would eventually lead Austria,
Piedmont Sardinia, Prussia, Spain, Portugal, the United Provinces, and Great Britain to form the first
coalition to defeat France. The paranoia of foreign attack contributed to France becoming more
