1.0Introduction

By doing this assignment, I learnt to analyse, evaluate, and apply business theories and concepts to
business decision making. Meanwhile, I also learn to effectively communicate information and
arguments mainly in written form.
I have chosen three companies that had undergone managerial decision. They are Tesco, Coca cola
and last but not the least AIA ING.
Tesco s managerial decision is under Human Resource Management, Coca cola is under Marketing
Management and AIA ING is under Operation Management.
I would like to take this opportunity to express my sincere gratitude to my lecturer, Madam
Farahida for guidance. In addition, I would like to appreciate my family for giving motivation and
support to complete my assignment. Furthermore, I am very grateful towards my friends who help
me in the process of collecting data and information. 2.0Case One : Tesco s Diversity and Inclusion

Suffering In The Poems Of Wilfred Owen And Jane Weir
Both poems display suffering in similar ways; Both poems demonstrate the effects of war. Wilfred
Owen and Jane Weir are angry and frustrated about what has happened during and after the war.
Questions are a most common feature of both poems, they are designed to make the reader think.
Both writers make use of literary techniques to draw attention to especially important parts of the
poems. Even though they displayed suffering in similar ways they still used their own ideas and
approaches; Owen writes from the pointof view of someone who was involved in the war. Weir
writes about mainly one soldier affected by the war.
Owen had joined the army in 1915 yet was hospitalized in May 1917 experiencing shell shock.
Owen, in the long run, came back to the war, however, was tragically killed days before the war
finished. He is currently thought of as one of Britain s most noteworthy war poets. `Exposure
gives a direct image of life in the trenches during WW1. By the winter of 1917, the two sides had
huge losses of soldiers and extremely frosty climate. It was said to be the coldest winter in living
memory. Many troopes created trench foot, an infection caused by feet being wet and frosty and in
boots for days on end. The image Owen created through descriptive words in the readers minds
conflicted with the scenes displayed by the British press.
In Jane Weir´s poem, Poppies the effect of conflict of people not in the military is explored. Poppies
is a personal reflection,
Short Story On Thomas Ham
Thomas Ham looked out the rainy window. The cars and trucks passed by. He saw the gray
buildings. He was scared. Why? When he got home his mom s boyfriend was probably. His dad
died from saving Tom from a fire. There was no money. They were forced to move to New York
City in a small apartment. The yellow bus slowly came to a stop. Tom got off of the bus. Pressed
the button to call up to his mom, Hi, mom
Hey, you can come up. The key is under the rug, his mom said. He walked through the passageway.
He came upon a courtyard with some old tables and chairs. He walked into his building. Then he
jogged up the stairs with his books. He picked up the key from under the rug. He turned the key
and walked in. He walked into the wood floor and green wall apartment. His mom was sitting
reading on her bed. Hey, how was your day? ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Even though he was 13 and a half he didn t have anything else. It also reminded him of his dad.
Later that night, Tom went to go wash up after he ate his ramen noodles. He brushed his teeth. He
went to his bed and said to his mom, Will Will here tomorrow?
Ya, I know you don t like him but he is a nice guy. Thomas hid under the covers and cried until he
fell asleep.
Thomas woke up and it didn t look like his house. He stood up and stepped on the wool carpet. He
looked at the wooden support beams. He walked down some stairs. He saw a regular kitchen and
dining room. This must be a dream, he thought to himself. He walked out of the house. There was a
fountain when he walked out. People in medieval clothes were walking around everywhere. There
were white stone roofed house.
People were mumbling when they saw him, is he the one?
Wait is that Thomas?
Call the king!
Thomas looked around anxiously because they were looking at him and talking about him. Then
suddenly everything got quiet. A guy with a crown and
Paradise Lost
Paradise Lost
Paradise Lost is a poem about Adam and Eve, how they were created and how they came to lose
their place in the Garden of Eden, which was also called Paradise. It is very similar to the book of
Genesis in the Bible, except it is expanded by John Milton into a very long, detailed, narrative poem
with a different view of Satan. Even though he leads a war against God, is sent to hell, and seeks
revenge throughout the poem h still ends up being a very likable character.
In Paradise Lost I think that Milton s character Satan may be considered one of the most complex
characters and is always changing. Of course at first he comes off as a very evil guy, who had a
strong thirst for vengeance and liked to wreak havoc. Even though ... Show more content on

Or at least that is what Satan wants the readers to believe!
Satan is proven to be a tricky and clever character in most stories that he is talked about in. Even
in the movie Devil s Advocate. The movie was good with a great amount of suspense, and kind of
gives a real outlook of the Satan and how he works. The movie is about Satan and sin. The point
of the movie and the poem was not to glorify sin but exposes it and all the devious things the devil
would do or has done. But it also shows the consequences of sin. Just like Paradise Lost The Devil
s Advocate shows Satan is filled with vanity, greed, and lust who is a great deceiver and knows
how to twists words and meanings. The movie is a modern re interpretation of the poem, I also think
it is pretty cool that the Devil in the film is name John Milton.
Overall I think in the poem Paradise Lost Satan s character was meant to be more attractive to the
readers so they would also be seduced by his ways. His character was meant to be more liked then
he usually is in things such as the Bible. He was not necessarily meant to be looked at as the hero,
but he was described in such a way that it tempted the readers to like him. Just like Satan lured
people in and made them do the wrong things Milton lured in his readers to like Satan. He did such
a great job that I felt sorry for Satan. But he also made us see everything from Satan view. Which

Ukrainian American Culture
My culture differs from people all around me including the people from Ukraine, whether by
culture, religion, music, and daily routine. The main language in Ukraine is Ukrainian. That
Ukrainian is the most widely spoken Slavic language along, with Russian and Polish (48). Slavic
means languages relating to the branch of the Indo European language family. These languages are
spoken in most of eastern Europe, parts of central Europe, and northern parts of Asia. The language
that I speak is English. We have twenty six letters in our alphabet, while the Ukrainian culture has
thirty eight. At dinner time my family sits around the table and in Ukraine it is casual to sit down

It is a part of the Indo European family and is the most widely spoken Slavic language, alongside
with Russian and Polish. As stated in the book The Indo European family is the largest language
family in the world. Ukrainian is known as Eastern Slavic, but shares common traits with Western
Slavic and Southern Slavic subgroups. The Ukrainian alphabet is very different from the United
States. It has a lot of the Cyrillic alphabet. The alphabet has thirty three letters in it that represent
thirty eight phonemes. Even the language has an apostrophe that tells whether to signify the
hardness of a sound or not. Each letter in the alphabet does belong to one of the phonemes. The
Ukrainian language has three stages of their languages; Old, Middle, Modern Ukrainian. The Old
language was between the tenth and fourteenth centuries. The fourteenth and eighteenth centuries
were the Middle ages. Modern Ukrainian language is from the nineteenth to the twentieth centuries.
The Old Ukrainian is used in scholarly and religious writings from that period. The Ukrainian
language has had some language policies over the years, but the country has had a brief history of

The Industrial Leaders of the 19th Century Should be Admired for their Work

The industrial leaders, Robber Barons, of the 19th century are men who are very respected and
admired. Andrew Carnegie was a boy from Scotland who came over to this country with nothing. He
continued to save and work his way up in the industry until he had complete control over the steel
industry. John D. Rockefeller was also one who came from an ordinary home. When he saw an
opportunity, he took it, along with the risks. He came to control the oil industry. Another man that
took many opportunities to expand and grow was Cornelius Vanderbilt. These men saw what they
needed to do to become successful and they did it. These men s lives reflected the ... Show more

He sold the company to J. P. Morgan, for which he personally received $250 million of the $492
million Morgan paid for it. He supported and began many corporations and institutions. Many
positive establishments were created only because of his generous donations. To this day many
people are still benefiting from the large Carnegie fortune. Cornelius Vanderbilt was the most
powerful railroad baron. He earned a fortune for himself in the steamship line. He also combined
the New York and Harlem and New York and Hudson estate ferry boat operations. He established a
connection between New York and Albany to make Lake Shore and Michigan Southern link Buffalo
with Chicago. When he died he owned and operated nearly 4500 miles of track between New York
City and most of the important cities in the Midwest. He left his fortune to his son, unlike the others
he did not donate to many organizations. The only contribution he gave was to support the, now,
Vanderbilt College.
John D. Rockefeller also started at humble beginnings. By taking risks and investing he found
himself engulfed in the rapidly expanding oil industry. Not yet in the business directly he started his
own company, The Standard Oil Company of Cleveland. Rockefeller s stake in the oil industry
increased as the industry itself expanded caused by the rapidly spreading use of kerosene. The
Standard Oil eventually, in a few years, purchased and controlled almost all the refining firms in
Cleveland, plus two refineries
The Theme Of Death In Othello and A Doll s House Essay...
The theme of death is present in many works of literature. It is given metaphors and cloaked with
different meanings, yet it always represents an end. Every end signifies a new beginning, and every
death gives rise to a new birth. Physical death ...is mere transformation, not destruction, writes Ding
Ming Dao. What dies is merely the identity, the identification of a collection of parts that we called a
person. What dies is only our human meaning (49). Figuratively speaking, deathsymbolizes a change,
an interruption or cessation of regular routine. In this sense, death can be viewed as a more positive
occurrence, because change leads to new experience, which, in turn, leads to knowledge and a better

Thus, when confronted with a mental battle, his logical defense isn t strong enough. Othello loses
because sentiment beats his rationality.
The final scene in Othello is loaded with deaths. Every character that died in the play was a victim
of Iago s fraudulent plot. Iago slew Roderigo and Emilia to maintain the frame around his scheme.
He killed to keep them silent, thinking that he could still retain his cover. Iago was foul, because he
did harm to others only to satisfy his own appetite. His plot ended in the most unfortunate way, and it
s end didn t justify the means, because he got caught.
Othello slew Desdemona for honor and justice. Although he was wrong, his action can be
somewhat justified, as his purpose was understandable. Othello was already dead inside before he
committed suicide. The difference in his character before and after the temptation scene is
remarkable. Iago literally tore Othello apart and rebuilt him, instilling in him a whole new set of
facts and ideas. Othello killed himself when he realized the truth, because his old self was already
gone, not to mention the love of his life. His suicide followed the instant that he stepped out of
delusion, and his death was an awakening,

because it shattered the misconception of truth. Othello s death concluded the play, clearing up
every lie that Iago had woven.

Here is the automization level selection criteria and methods to be flexible of the system. And we
will make our choice accordingly.

Stamping STAMPING| COST AND THE CHOICE| 1.transfer muiti station mechanical presses with
a very high cadence(over than 15 cycles/min) fitting with very high production rate(over than 600
series/day)| Very high, not fitable for our plant because according our make or buy decision, we
only make necessary body parts in order to save capital and better focus on core business .|
2.traditional mechanical or new generations hydraulic presses with a medium cadence(between 10
and 15 cycles/min), interconnected by automatic systems, fitting for medium production rate(60 600
series/day)| This fits our production system adequately. Since our assumed working cycle time is
6sec(=10 cycles/min) and it meets the requirement of 1300cars/day. On the other side, this is capital
intensive but not as expensive as the first one.| 3.traditional hydraulic or water forming presses, with
manual loading/unloading, with low cadence, fitting for low production rate(less than 60 series/day)|
This criterion is not fit for mass production. Nowadays labor intensive production is used for the elite
market.| Major factors influcing cost: press and dies depreciation, maintenance costs and material
handling. And thus it is very
Peer Couseling Refleciton Paper
Coming from prior experience of having to go to counseling as a teenager, being a client in a peer
counseling was acceptable and familiar. The experience within the session in class was sufficient
enough to help deal with a particular problem I had been going through and wanted to search for a
possible resolution or change towards the problem for the near future. Though I did not know the
helper personally, I had known the helper through another sports team, and being friends within the
class helped with being comfortable talking about an issue within my own respective sport. Going
into the sessionbeing both athletes at the University of Maryland was comforting due to
understanding where we both were coming from. The helper concentrated working through each of
the different skills through the 3 stage model learned throughout the entire semester to help with my
particular issue within the training staff. I noticed her help and focus of wanting to guide through
my initial emotions of the situation, moving towards providing advice and insight about the
problem, and lastly providing possible recommendations and solutions towards confronting the issue
at hand. It felt good and promising receiving possible solutions on how to work through the problem
for any future issues relating towards the initial problem. Listening to the helper coming from a
different perspective on the issue helped see from a new perspective outside my own opinions about
the problem and understanding the
The Philosophy Of Total Quality Management
Total Quality Management (TQM) is the art of managing quality of whole activities of any
organization. TQM is a philosophy and we can say it is also a set of guiding principles that represent
the foundation of a continuously improving organization. It is the application to improve all the
processes within an organization and exceed customer needs issues of customer satisfaction and
guidance on implementing the marketing concept.
Total quality management deals completely with the quality word. It focuses on the quality of
products, quality of services, quality of management of staff, quality of services deliver to patrons
and so on. So the question is arising what is quality? In general terms quality relates to the feature
or characters or value of a product or service or similar offering.

An ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Attempts to implement TQM regularly fail because top management does not lead and get
committed instead it delegates and pays edge service. Commitment and personal involvement is
required from top management in creating and deploying clear quality values and goals consistent
with the objectives of the organization, and in creating and deploying definite systems, methods and
performance measures for achieving those goals. These systems and methods guide all quality
activities and encourage participation by all employees.
Continuous improvement
Continuous improvement of all activities is at the heart of TQM. it is recognized that customer
satisfaction can only be obtained by providing a high quality product, continuous improvement of the
quality of the product. It is seen as the only way to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction. As
well as recognizing the connection between product quality and customer satisfaction, TQM also
recognizes that product quality is the result of process quality. As a result, there is a focus on
continuous improvement of the organization s processes.

Pros And Cons Of Fish Farming
Numerous Freshwater Fish Farms around the world are helping feed a growing worldwide
population. However, Aquaculture is also a huge industry in today s growing economy, most of the
species framers raise are Catfish, Trout, Tilapia, and even Salmon and other cold and warm water
fish. Aquaculture has been around for thousands of years the first FishFarms were accidental it didn t
become a concern until farmers started to breed concentrated amount of fish in small areas.
Nevertheless, Aquacultureis not being researched adequately to better understand the impacts. As a
result Fish Farmingshould be outlawed in all fifty states by the EPA. Many of the fish that are raised

Presumably, the problem is coming from the pellets the fish are consuming, they re eating above
their Trophic level. All things considered, the EPA should regulate the food the farmers are giving
the fish. Meanwhile, the EPA should regulate the food that the fish are consuming or close all
farms until they solve the problem. Furthermore, the toxins in fish are not the only issue the
toxins around the farm have a negative impact. Countless number of Aquaculture is located next
to large bodies of water and rivers. It s contaminating the bodies of water around the Aquaculture.
There s only a hand full of regulations of spilling contaminating waters but, many of these
regulations don t consider the water contained in Farms. However, there s also Farms that raise
fish for the purposes of stocking lakes and ponds. The Game and Fish Department have been
using Fish Farms for years. The purpose of the Farms is to restock area ponds and lakes. The
Conservationist argues that stocking the lakes with small fish fry will put less pressure on native
fish Species from being overfished. However, a large amount of fish fry escapes into the wild
cause the fish to cross breed making them a concern to other species. There are programs around the
United States that use the farms to replenish the native fish and provide fish in the small pond to fish
for. The scientist has argued that most of the problem come from low funding

14. INFORMATION NEEDS
Target Markets
At the center of any effective marketing strategy is the ability to define what makes a service
unique and highly valuable to a given target market. When selling services, which are inherently
intangible, the need exists for creating value quickly and with many forms of tangible proof of
expertise sold. When selling information services the need to generate trust and a strong sense of
value has to preclude any long term purchasing relationship (Laurence, 2001). Market Solutions
needs to create a foundation of trust with the following target markets if their information services
business is going to establish itself and thrive over time.
Trust must be the foundation of the company for it to succeed in the segments it has chosen. These
include automotive, banking, FMCG, food and beverages, hospitality services and
telecommunication services industries. Each of these industries has unique information challenges
or problems, yet all share a common interest in customer satisfaction analysis. The customer
satisfaction analysis service will be offered to all of these industries, in addition to Ad Tracking.
These two services are foundational for the successful operation of any business and will also serve
over time to create a system of record, or master data management (MDM) platform that will
illustrate each of these industries well. One of the most critical factors of success
Turning Point At A Chinese Orientated Family With English
Turning Point After an exhausting day in school, I came home dead on one feet covered in sweat
and dirt. Mom used a wet towel to clean me up, giving me a soothing sensation as she hands over
a file of document consisting information about an international school that I never even know
existed. I puzzled and asked what is this about? She replied your future . I flipped through the
documents and tried to comprehend. It was all in English and I m confused. I didn t understand a
single thing besides the price of school fees. It was no small amount of money to be sent there.
Seeing that I was only a 12 year old rebellious kid, I said no immediately without thinking. My
mum asked why and all I could think of was the friends that I would leave behind. Being in a
Chinese orientated family with English as my second language, I was also worried about how I
would fit in in a completely foreign environment. After some persuasion from my parents, I
agreed to go and have a look at the school. It was not how I pictured it to be. Even though the
compound was small as compared to a local school, it s facilities were complete. It feels like
everybody in this school knows everybody. My parents were impressed with the campus and they
signed me up immediately. I was surprised by their spontaneous decision without my agreement. The
next thing that surprised me was the sky blue colored uniform paired with navy blue colored trousers
which eventually ended up being paired with gray trousers
