Meaning Of The Sandman
The Sandman The Sandman is a mythical character whose purpose is to lull children to sleep and
give them sweet dreams, by sprinkling magical sand into their eyes. If children fought the effects
of his magical sand, they would have torturous nightmares. The folklore says that the sleep in the
corner of the eyes is a proof that The Sandman was there during the night. The text Verse 1 Say
your prayers little one Don t forget my son To include everyone I tuck you in, warm within Keep
you free from sin Til the sandman he comes The song starts with a parent putting their son to bed,
persisting the child to say their prayers before they go to bed. The parent tucks his son into bed to
keep him warm during the cold night, which is associated with sin. Children see duvets and blankets
as a shield to protect them from anything that can happen throughout the night. Although the last line
can seem disturbing The Sandman is someone who brings good dreams. But the child may
misunderstand this and his own fear may twist the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The prayer was meant to help kids calm down with fear, and trust that God will protect them
through the night. Hush, Little Baby is a lullaby thought to have been written in the Southern
United States. The lullaby is traditional too real to soothe an anxious or crying child. In this
version, it s uncertain whether it s The Sandman or the parent who is singing. Whereas the first
line follows the traditional lullaby, the following lines hints to a boogeyman or something to be
afraid of. This could be child s way of twisting his parent s words. Chorus 2 Exit light Enter night
Grain of sand The grain of sand is again the proof that The Sandman was there during the night

How Does Shakespeare Present The Character Of Iago
In William Shakespeare s Othello, the character Iago is presented as the villain of the play.
Shakespeare presents him as a selfish character, with jealousy and hatred, intelligent at the same time.

He has a very specific language, we realize that because he can be played in many different ways
but the language is different, especially when he speaks about Othello.

When we first see Iago interacting is through a soliloquy. We know that because Roderigo exits,
suddenly Iago starts speaking out his mind, he is constantly cent ring himself [...] Thus do I ever
make my fool my purse...For I mine own gained knowledge.. . I hate the Moor . Iago constantly
repeats the word I , he is presented as a really egocentric character.

April Greiman Essay
Great things are not done by impulse, but a series of small things brought together. Vincent Van
Gogh

April Greiman is by far one of the most influential female artists in the history of Design. She was
born in New York in 1948 and was raised in a very family oriented environment, her creativity was
greatly influenced by her mother, father and aunt who shared a passion for art, music and
encouraged her to be an independent, curious, adventurous woman. After acknowledging her great
interest in art, she applied to several art schools and was accepted into the Kansas City Art Institute
where she received a BFA in Graphic Design. Later on, with the influence of the principles of
Modernism and exploration of technology, she ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This new genre in art quickly confirmed Greiman s position as the pioneer of visual
communication and design. Her eagerness to learn and explore this new medium is what has gotten
her the respect and appreciation for her work. Her ability to engage the audience and embrace
spaces by providing a floating effect to her work, combining architecture and typographic forms
allowed her to become one of the most prominent icons in the design world.

In 1982, April Greiman was selected head of the design department at the California Institute of the
Arts. Throughout her time in CalArts, she focused on her role as an educator and the importance of
transforming design. Greiman was able to take advantage of the state of the art equipment that was
provided by the institution and began to combine video and media images in her work. Her input in
this field and her accomplishments successfully gave her the opportunity to make this department
more focused in a variety of ideas other than design renaming this field as visual communication.

The popularity and recognition April Greiman gained over the years is mostly because of of her
creativity, experience working with graphics and implementation of visual communication with the
use of technological devices. As an Artist and educator, she has been able to work in a number of
posters and websites for her clientele, she is the author of several design books including Hybrid

Analysis of Vindication of the Rights for Women by Mary...
A wise man once said Man is only great when he acts from passion. When you hear the word
passion, the first thing that might come to your mind is something related to love, and you re not
entirely wrong. According to Merriam Webster s dictionary, passion is defined as a strong feeling
of enthusiasm or excitement for something or about doing something or a strong feeling (such as
anger) that causes you to act in a dangerous way. All in all, it is a strong feeling, be it happiness,
sadness, anger or liberality. You can be passionate about many things such as love, sports, food, or
intimacy. However, it can also mean having a strong yearning for something. Vindication of the
Rights for Women by Mary Wollstonecraftwas published in 1792,... Show more content on

Throughout her manifesto, Wollstonecraft points out that if women were only taught to please men
on a daily basis, men would grow tired causing the women to cheat. She also points out renowned
writers such as Jean Jacques Rousseau. Ten years before this, Jean Jacques Rousseau had published
his tell all called Confessions. This was during the Romanticism period, a period where there was
rejection of rationality and reason while in favor of feelings. There was more emphasis on
subjectivity, the way the individual perceives their experience. From reading Vindication, you
understand why Wollstonecraft wrote this. She claims that Rousseau s view towards women were
very double standard. He states that Women are smaller compared to men, both in their physical
frame and mental frame. So because of that, they should all be submissive towards men. Thus, the
prejudice of women being the weak and sensitive sex prevails. Both men and women, live their lives
believing that women are weak minded. At an early age society teaches that a woman s mind is
weaker than a man s mind, justifying it with the fact that a woman s body is weaker than that of a
man s. This conclusion seems fully plausible, however if investigated further, one will find that
that is not the case. A woman s mind is as fully capable of reason as a man s mind. Wollstonecraft
had two options to pick from. Either start a revolution in regards to women rights and allowing them
to be equal or to skillfully inject the
Taking a Look at the Human Eye
The human eye is an organ that reacts to light and has several purposes. As a conscious sense organ,
the eye allows vision. Rods and cones in the retina allow light perception and vision including color
differentiation and the conscious perception of depth. The human eye can distinguish 10 million
colors. The eyeis composed of three layers, enclosing three transparent structures .
The outer layer , called the fibrous tunic is comprised of the cornea and sclera . The middle layer ,
called the vascular tunic or uvea is the choroid , ciliary body and the iris. The innermost part of the
eye is the retina , which gets its circulation from the vessels of the choroid and retinal vessels ,
which can be seen in an ophthalmoscope .
The blood vessels can be seen in the sclera , and a strong ring around the iris limbo . Within these
coats are the aqueous humor , vitreous humor and the flexible lens . The aqueous humor is a clear
fluid that is contained in two areas: the anterior chamber between the cornea and the iris and the
posterior chamber between the iris and lens.
The lens is suspended in the ciliary body in the suspensory ligament , composed of transparent
fibers . The vitreous is a clear gel that is larger than the aqueous humor is behind the lens , and the
rest is enclosed by the sclera , zonule , and lens. They are connected by the pupil .
As the eyes of other mammals, the ganglion cells of the human eye is not sensitive image forming

The Great Barrier Reef Of Australia s Coral Reefs
Since commercial fishing in Australia s coral reefs began in the early 1970s, overfishing, climate
change, dynamite fishing, and pollution have contributed to a large scale decline in the health of
the reefs and the marine life that reside within them. The Great Barrier Reef stands as one of the
most varied ecosystems in the world, serving as a natural environment for thousands of species of
marine life. The reefs provide millions of dollars in revenue for Australia by attracting many tourists,
providing fish, and by advancing medical research. The coralreefs are beneficial to Australia because
they serve as a barrier to protect the land from large waves and tsunamis. Reef industries, such as
fishing and tourism, which generate approximately 5.4 billion dollars annually for the Australian
economy and support over 69,000 jobs, are dependent on a healthy environment ( The Great
Barrier Reef ). Tourism is one of the largest commercial activities in the Great Barrier Reef region,
playing an important role in presenting the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park to a wide range of
visitors. There is a myriad range of tourism operations in the Great Barrier Reef including tours,
snorkeling, scuba diving, fishing charters, cruises, whale watching, and swimming with dolphins (
Experiences in the Region ). The fishing industry in Australia depends on the reefs since many fish
breed there and young fish occupy time there before making their way to the open sea ( Biodiversity

Mars Curiosity Rover
1.0Introduction Mars; the fourth planet from the sun, and considering the vast expanse of the
universe, Mars is only a mere 49 million miles from Earth. Mars has been the object of many
speculative questions and hypothesis. Over the years, many have wondered if Mars ever sustained
life, or if not, if it were possible to one day sustain life; i.e. Humans. There have been many missions
to Marsin an attempt to answer those and other questions, like the three separate rover craft missions
that will be discussed in this paper. Most recently, the idea to put humans on Mars has gained
traction and scientists have begun the process to put that plan into motion. The goal of this paper is
to provide more in depth detail of those missions, their... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Organized Retail
It can be summarized that 34% of the total population whose salary ranges between Rs 10000 Rs
25000 preferred to purchase from organized retail and 71.7% of the total population between the
same groups preferred unorganized retail that is to say the middle class still like to prefer
unorganized retail for their purchase. At the same time we can have another figure from
organized retail that 16.4% of the total population whose salary ranges between Rs 50000 Rs
100000 preferred organized retail for their shop where as only 1.8% of the total population whose
salary ranges between Rs 50000 Rs 100000 preferred unorganized retail for their shop. So we can

money spent. The derived result reflects from organized retail the reflected Phi value of 0.610
and p value of 0.00, so we can say there is association between the education level and amount of
money spent and if we see the unorganized retail store the reflected Phi value of 0.684 and p value
of 0.00, so we can say that there is no association between the education and amount of money spent.
The data collected reveals that most of the consumer prefers to purchase from organized retail out of
which most of them where from male category. High class income valued consumer prefer to choose
the organized retail for their purchase while the middle class still chose to opt unorganized retail
having the income group between 10K to 25K per month. The hypothesis testing was the prime
objective for the research that whether association exist between Income and frequency of Store
Visit to the retail store to that we have revealed that there is association exists between the income
and the frequency of visit to the organized as well as unorganized retail store. Further for another
hypothesis which is association of education Vs amount spent for the retail store then we can say
that that there is association found between the education level and amount of money spent for

Split-Level Houses In The 1950s
If you re like most people, you probably think that the split level house was invented in the 1950 s. It
definitely started becoming popular around that time.

A typical 1950 s split. No. E 605 from the 1955 catalog Homes of Individuality by National Plan
Service. Scan from Mid Century Home Style.

Actually, Sears Roebuck introduced what they called stepped up level houses in their 1933 catalog.
These houses are some of the first examples of split levels built in the United States. And these
designs, although progressive for the time, were very big sellers in the Chicago area.

Researcher Andrew Mutch located one of the Sears split level houses in La Grange Park.

Sears Concord from the 1940 Modern Homes catalog. Earlier incarnations of the Concord had only
one dormer.

A split level is typically defined as a three level house. There is the main level that contains the
living room and kitchen space. There is a bedroom level a half flight up from the main level. Then
there is a recreation room or a garage level a half flight down from the main level.

The Sears Concord is actually a four level house. There is a topmost level that houses the master
bedroom (the room with the dormers over the living room level).

Using this cross section from Sears, the future bedroom is where the master bedroom is in the
Concord.
