Semi-Detailed Lesson Plan in Physical Education and Health 12

COT-RPMS
March 16, 2022 ; 1:30-2:30 P.M

I. Objectives: At the end of the lesson, the students are expected to:
Knowledge: explain the nature of the different recreational activities,
Attitude: Realize the importance of physical activity performance, and
Skill: Contribute how to optimize the energy systems for safe and improved
performance.

Performance Standards: Leads fitness events with proficiency and confidence resulting in
independent pursuit and in influencing others positively

Learning Competency/is: Discusses the nature of different recreational activities. PEH12FH-IIa-

II. Content/Topic: Nature and Background of Outdoor Recreation


Reference: SLMs Physical Education and Health 12 (Volume 1) Weeks 2-3; 1st quarter
Time Frame: 120 minutes

Learning Resources: List the materials to be used in different days, varied sources of materials
sustain student’s interest in the lesson and learning, ensure that there is a mix of concrete and
manipulative materials as well as paper-based materials, hands-on learning promotes concept
development.

Integration:
English : (Word association) Pick a word and create a sentence.
EsP: Appreciate the nature of doing outdoor recreation.
Science: Explain why outdoor recreation boosts someone’s immunity.

III. Learning Procedures


A. Preparatory Activity
 Prayer
 Greet the students, check the attendance, recognize those students who
consecutively come to school early (WATCH integration), teacher reflects
about the importance of self-discipline of the time and the consciousness
and value of honesty.

B. Review of Previous Lesson


The teacher will have to ask the following questions to recall the previous lessons.
1. What is a dance?
2. Give an example of a classical dance?
3. What are the benefits we can get if we dance?
C. Motivation
- Ask the students if they engage in physical activity performance, would they
consider their selves as an active person? Are they willing to make some changes
to become a more active individual?
- Explain the objectives of the lesson

Let the students demonstrates understanding of recreation in optimizing one’s health


as requisite for physical activity performance and as a career opportunity.

2. Discussion
What is outdoor recreation ?
Recreation is derived from the latin word recreare which mean to be refreshed.
Choices for recreation vary from person to person. What makes one happy may not be so for
others. Therefore,recreational activities depend on one’s interest,pursuits, and needs which
may be reflected of one’s beliefs and level of gratification. For example, a natural park may
serve as a bonding place for a family to have a picnic, a great fitness area for a jogger, and a
place to commune with nature or meditate for others.

Outdoor recreation involves a lot of physical activity, but it does not require one to
have athletic level of skills to be able to participate.

-Ask students the definition of outdoor and recreation. Let them explain the
difference of the two.

- Which is the best method to quantify the economic impact of an outdoor
recreation in land, water, and air?
F. ABSTRACTION (The teacher will give a thorough discussion of the lesson
aided with a powerpoint presentation.)

Summarize the learning about the nature and background of outdoor recreational
activity using a graphic organizer.

3. Application (HOTS)
Create a short explanation on how you are going to solve the barriers in
participating outdoor activities.
