On behalf of the Intercontinental Youth Connect we are accepting you to be part of the
Southern African Youth Development Council (SAYDC)-2025, which is scheduled to be held
from the 27th to the 30th of June 2025 at Travelodge (Proposed Venue), Gaborone, Botswana
under the theme: Youth Inclusion In Innovation And Entrepreneurship To Unlock
Opportunities For Sustainable Economic Growth And Development Towards An
Industrialised SADC: Youth Agenda 2055.

ABOUT SOUTHERN AFRICAN YOUTH DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL (SAYDC)

SAYDc is a regional youth council organized by Intercontinental Youth Connect (IYC), which
will bring regional young people from around the SADC countries and any other country in
Africa and abroad to meet in the SADC region. It is a youth development council that provides
advice and initiate programs to complement the activities of our individual nations and our
regional committee to combat our social, economic and political challenges. The council will
collectively initiate programs for the creation of: Smart/Sustainable People,
Smart/Sustainable Governance, Smart/Sustainable Living, Smart/Sustainable Mobility,
Smart/Sustainable Economy, Smart/Sustainable Environment.

SAYDc focuses on the value chain and industrial development in the following sectors:
Agriculture, Finance, Health, Education, Infrastructure & Housing Development, ICT-
Engineering, Mining and Green Energy etc to learn and share ideas from a diverse set of
experiences and backgrounds where all the sitting council members come up with Development
Strategies for the betterment of our Countries.

SAYDc aims to bring together young people from all across the world who are interested in the
development of Southern African Region to experience diplomacy in multiculturalism as well as
to bring international delegates together by facilitating young leaders from different parts of the
world to broaden their networks and to provide a platform where they may share their
perspectives, particularly on Contemporary Issues that will be discussed in each council. It also
encourages youth involvement in political, economical, social and any other form of involvement
and practices that helps in overall Development for SADC Countries and other countries. It also
aims to promote youth travel and exposure, fighting discrimination and promoting togetherness
and partnership by creating great leaders for the betterment of the the SADC Counties and all
communities.

SAYDc will be carrying different themes on each of its events. It will bring the conference to life
through a number of dynamic councils, an exceptional array of speakers and beloved tradition of
vibrant social events such as the gala dinner, social night / movie night, cocktails, Grand
symposium, and cultural night, etc.

Here are some important things that the participant should know:
1. Attendees will be responsible for their conference fee since it is a self funded program.

2. Attendees will be responsible for their travelling expenses i.e visa and flight trip (If
required) to and from Gaborone, Botswana. Our Team will be there to assist you with a visa
letter and other documentation needed.
3. An Official Invitation Letter will be forwarded to you after confirming your attendance
which is done by either paying the conference fee deposit or sending your flight ticket. This
will have your council and topics you need to research n before the conference starts.
4. NB: Conference fee payment is mandatory to all delegates attending SAYDC (delegates to
choose suitable package, (see page 3 downwards)

Along with the mandatory items, do not forget to pack appropriate attires suitable for the
activities that will be done during the event and personal medicine. In accordance to the event,
we would like to inform you that it is illegal to bring drugs into Botswaa and a serious penalty
will be charged. Please make a survey before your departure to avoid any difficulties.

All the participants should attach a formal photo, scanned valid passport ( and/ or national
identity card) visa (for countries that have to use a visa to Botswana) and flight ticket by

Registration Deadline

SAYDC will be having very limited seats. Once Maximum capacity is reached, delegates will be
able to register to be placed on a waiting list. Also Deposit is allowed to secure and save a seat at
a minimum of usd100 which will be non refundable but deducted from the total facility chosen
by the delegate. Balance will be expected on the due dates.

IYC conferences are self sponsored programs, so delegates will have to pay a fee depending
on their liking. IYC in all its conferences offers different packages to suit different delegates and
their preferences, also below is the payment dates for those that would want to make their
payments in installments.

This is to inform you that payment for the Southern African Youth Development Council
(SAYDC) will be done using either Bank Transfer and or any International Money Transfers
facilities found in Zimbabwe since the IYC HQ is in Harare, Zimbabwe.

The Mentioned Names are the secretariat of IYC, since money transfer facilities can’t transfer
from individuals to organizations but individuals to individual, we selected the two secretariat
members to receive money in the name of the IYC for the conference, also confirm with the

Refund Policy
 If cancellation of program done by the committee, full refund will be paid to participants
(100%) within 30days of cancellation notice,
 If the program is postponed due to any reasons caused by any other reasons not controllable
by IYC, no refund will since the program will took place on advised dates.
 Non-refundable, if the selected Delegate cancel his/her participation after payment or incase
of a double payment.
