Profile summary-
He started his career as Medical Officer in Central Health Services in year 2000 selected through
Combined Medical Services Examination (CMSE) conducted by UPSC. At present, He is working
as Technical Advisor to Department of Health & Family Welfare, Delhi Government for various
health projects related to Hospital Administration & Public Health. He is Additional Director at
Directorate of Health Services, Government of NCT of Delhi, having experience of 20 years at
various positions in health department. He has rich experience of working in Health Care
Management/Public Health ranging from lower level (Primary Health Care) to the State level
(Planning, Policy, Implementation and Monitoring). He has worked as State Programme Officer
(NRHM) in Delhi State Health Mission & Central Cell Coordinator (IPPIP) in Department of Family
Welfare for long duration. He was responsible for planning, implementation, monitoring of various
National Health programmes/activities like IDSP, RCH-II, NRHM & Bio-medical waste
management etc in health facilities. He has trained doctors and paramedical staff for various
National Health programmes in Delhi State. He has contributed in evaluation of national health
programmes/ schemes at the country level, published/presented more than 75 research papers in
national and International journals/conferences, written chapters in books in the area of public
health and health care management on highly innovative topics. He is associate editor for Journal
of Advance Research in Medicine (JoARM). As a part of community health education programme,
he has contributed as panelist in TV Channels like DD, Lok- Sabha and Total TV for discussion
on issues of public health importance on several occasions in the country. He is life member of
national professional bodies like IAPSM, IPHA, IMA, AGI, Indian Society of Hospital Waste
Management (ISHWM), ACHHA, Academy of Hospital Administration (AHA), International
Epidemiological Association (IEA) & Epidemiological Foundation of India (EFI). He was awarded
for Best Doctor for the implementation of Leprosy Programme in Delhi by Honorable Health
Minister, Government of Delhi in 2004. During his tenure as Programme Officer, he organized
health Camps/Melas/ debates on issues of public health importance like Bio-medical waste
management, Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) & environment pollution etc. His areas of interest
are Public Health, Epidemiology, Patient Safety, Bio-Medical waste management, Antimicrobial
Resistance, Climate change and its impact on human life and Scientific Writing. He is contributing
as member of advisory group in drafting of Strategic Action Plan for Combating Antimicrobial
Resistance in Delhi. He is recipient of more than 19 awards at National/ State level among which
few important once are; in year 2015, he was conferred with State Award for meritorious services
in Health Sector, Department of Health and Family Welfare, Govt. of NCT of Delhi by Hon’ble Dy.
Chief Minister. He was awarded with National MedscapeIndia 2017 award “Excellence in Public
Health” at Mumbai in 2017. He was awarded President’s Gold Medal Award for topper in the DNB
exam in year 2018 and received Doctors day appreciation award 2019 from Delhi Medical
Association for the outstanding services and supporting medical fraternity on the occasion of
Annual Conference & Doctors Day Celebration in Delhi.
