STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
My name is Taimur Shah s/o Rahmat Shah and I am a permanent resident of Pakistan. Regarding
my education, after completing my matriculation and intermediate, I completed my Bachelor of
Arts degree from Bahauddin Zakariya University, Multan in 2008, equipping myself with
knowledge of economics, Pakistan studies, and English. After that, I pursued my degree in
Master of Business Administration from Northern University, Nowshera in the year 2011. I have
gained in-depth knowledge and skills related to management, marketing, entrepreneurship,
management information systems, advertising and promotion management, managerial
economics, project management, HR management, industrial marketing, leadership, team
management, and many other topics. These subjects provided me with strong skills in these
domains that would be helpful in my future studies. I have also gained good English language
proficiency during my studies.
After completing my studies, I started working as a Computer Teacher at Green Light Public
High School, Nowshera from January 2011 till February 2018. Currently, I am working as ICT
Lab Admin at The City School, Nowshera since March 2018 to date. This experience has
enhanced my knowledge of the subject along with promoting my professional and technical
skills that would help me in my future studies. Now, due to the advancement of educational
theories and practices, I’m interested in expanding my knowledge in modern educational
concepts and theories with a global perspective and want to advance in my career. So, to achieve
my goal, I have decided to continue my studies in the UK and I prefer to study in the MA
Education program at the University of Lincoln for the September 2024 intake.
The University of Lincoln has a distinguished reputation, an innovative approach to education,
and extensive support for student development, which is why I am very interested in studying
education there. The School of Education at the University of Lincoln is well-known for its
emphasis on practical teaching methods and research-driven practices. The university's Teaching
Excellence Framework (TEF) Gold rating demonstrates the excellent calibre of instruction,
student outcomes, and learning. Lincoln also offers a modern environment that is ideal for
engaging learning and research, thanks to buildings like the David Chiddick Building. The
university’s close connections to regional, national, and worldwide educational institutions
present additional exceptional opportunities for hands-on learning. The city of Lincoln itself
enhances the learning process by providing practical insights and possibilities for networking,
thanks to its vibrant community and rich historical backdrop. Furthermore, as demonstrated by
the University’s high student satisfaction ratings, its emphasis on academic support and one-on-
one tutoring guarantees that students receive excellent assistance throughout their academic
careers. The University of Lincoln is a great place to pursue an education degree that is both
academically demanding and practically applicable because of its dedication to promoting
innovation, teaching excellence, and global thinking.
It will be a thrilling opportunity to receive a top-quality education in the United Kingdom. With
the exception of the United States, the United Kingdom has the second-best educational system
globally. A further advantage of studying in the UK is the abundance of theoretical and practical
courses that support knowledge acquisition and skill development. It also boasts some of the top
universities in the world, which have a strong track record of turning out brilliant, informed, and
highly employable graduates. For students who wish to advance their academic careers, the
United Kingdom offers a wide range of postgraduate options that are both lucrative and course-
specific. Strong ties are kept between UK universities and professional associations and
educational sectors nationwide to ensure that students graduate with the hands-on training
required to succeed in their chosen fields. In the UK, international students are made to feel
welcome. The United Kingdom's rich history, vibrant culture, and beautiful surroundings make
for an enjoyable trip. Universities in the UK give students the opportunity to participate in
internships and work placements in educational institutions and organisations that are
professional both during and after they have completed their degrees. Furthermore, the UK
provides international students with an engaging educational experience because it is a diverse
and culturally rich country. The cosmopolitan cities, stunning architecture, and lush countryside
of the United Kingdom make it a desirable place to live and study. Moreover, there's a chance
that UK student life will be highly social. Speaking with people from other countries is very
simple in the United Kingdom because English is the first language spoken by everyone.
Brilliant students from all over the world come to the UK every year to pursue their dreams and
further their education. Without a doubt, learning with them will enhance my communication
abilities and increase my understanding of their cultures and philosophies. It offers a decent
living standard and the opportunity for international students to live in contemporary cities like
Manchester, Birmingham, and London. For individuals seeking both academic challenge and
cultural immersion, studying in the United Kingdom is, in my opinion, the best choice. In
comparison, Pakistan's educational system is not as good as those in other developed or foreign
nations. That is a different matter entirely that Pakistan has fewer institutions than other nations.
Living in these conditions makes it more difficult for me to pursue a modern higher education.
Since the job outlook is far better in the UK, studying there will give me both a top-notch
education and invaluable work experience. My resume will undoubtedly do a good job of
highlighting my time spent learning in the UK. Since UK degrees are recognised all over the
world, having a degree from a UK institution offers substantially more employment
opportunities than a degree from a local institution.
The decision to pursue an MA in Education is motivated by a complex and well-thought-out
combination of personal and professional objectives. My background in business administration
and ICT has given me a solid foundation in strategic planning and leadership, but an MA in
Education will expand and enhance these skills in ways that are essential to my long-term goals
and will require rigorous study. To learn more about the conceptual frameworks and empirical
research that support contemporary educational practices, I am enrolled in an MA in Education
programme. This is one of my main reasons. Even though my previous studies were very broad,
they frequently placed more emphasis on real-world application and case-based learning than on
advanced research techniques and educational theories. An MA programme provides the ideal
means of bridging this gap because of its focus on research proficiency and academic rigour.
Through my engagement with state-of-the-art research and theoretical developments, I hope to
gain a deeper comprehension of the organisational and systemic dynamics that propel
educational success. Moreover, the Master of Arts in Education programme will allow me to
focus on educational domains that are becoming more and more important in today's academic
environment. Due to the rapidly changing socio-economic paradigms and rapid technological
advancements, educational systems are constantly changing, necessitating a more in-depth and
sophisticated understanding of particular educational domains. My professional abilities and
career prospects will be improved by this specialisation, which will give me the knowledge and
skills necessary to lead strategic initiatives and handle difficult problems within educational
institutions. The chance to study in a more interdisciplinary and collaborative setting is another
excellent argument for obtaining an MA in Education. Peers and faculty members engage in
deeper levels of collaboration and intellectual exchange because of the nature of the MA
programme, which is frequently characterised by smaller, more focused cohorts and a research-
intensive approach. This setting is ideal for honing analytical and problem-solving abilities as
well as creating deep relationships with people who are passionate about education research and
innovation. My professional network is growing thanks to these exchanges, and I'm learning a
variety of viewpoints that will help me tackle educational issues. The MA in Education also fits
with my goal of switching to a more academic or consulting-based career path. The programme
is especially relevant for positions in academic research, policy development, and educational
consulting because of its strong emphasis on research, analytical abilities, and evidence-based
educational practices. I will be in a good position to contribute to thought leadership in the field
through academic publications, consulting projects, or advisory roles in educational
organisations if I master advanced educational theories and develop my research skills. After
gaining practical, hands-on experience during my previous roles, this shift towards a more
analytical and advisory role makes sense and enables me to use my educational acumen in more
strategic and significant ways. My motivation for pursuing an MA in Education is a sincere
desire to expand my theoretical knowledge, focus on important areas of education, participate in
multidisciplinary and collaborative learning, and advance into positions that prioritise strategic
consulting and research. The advanced knowledge and skills I will gain from this programme
will enable me to thrive in an educational environment that is becoming more complex and
dynamic. It is the natural next step in my academic and professional career. The course contents
of my interest are:
Critical Engagement with Educational Literature (Core)
Research Methods (Education) (Core)
Bullying in Educational Settings (Option)
Education and Social Justice (Option)
Educational leadership and management: theory and practice (Option)
Gender, Education & Global Development (Option)
Future Plans
My future career plans are ambitious, but they are based on a clear vision of utilising my diverse
background. After completing my MA in Education from the UK and returning to Pakistan, and I
also have a prior MBA and extensive experience as a computer teacher and ICT Lab
administrator. My short-term objective is to land a job where I can combine my advanced
educational abilities with my technical knowledge to become a liaison between technology and
educational strategy. I am very interested in positions where I can use my strong ICT knowledge
to drive strategic initiatives and digital transformation projects, such as those at top global
educational institutions. These positions include Educational Consultant, Curriculum Developer,
Education Technology Specialist, and School Administrator. Furthermore, I would especially
like to help Pakistan's education sector flourish by working for innovative educational
institutions and organisations. Longer term, my goal is to move up to senior management
positions like Director of Education or Head of Educational Technology, where I can design and
implement education-driven strategies that improve innovation and organisational performance.
These roles play a crucial role in bridging the gap between executive leadership and educational
advancements. These positions within well-known educational institutions in Pakistan or creative
startups have the potential to have a big impact on the local education system and promote an
efficient and innovative culture given the country's developing educational ecosystem. My
professional goals also encompass pursuing executive positions in multinational educational
organisations that are well-known for their dedication to incorporating cutting-edge technologies
and creative educational techniques. These jobs are a perfect fit for my skill set,
Kindly consider my application. Thanks
